No way we can play Morishita at left wing back.... He can't get up and down, and even if he could he cant physically compete on the ball. Our only real hope for 352 - based on no evidence i can point to - is Afolayan can do it. But is he even left footed? This says no : https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/oladapo-afolayan/profil/spieler/487850 If we do try it I guess we might just use Pickering but expect him to tuck in and focus on defence, and give Alebiouso free rain down the right and let the LCM (Mori below) focus on getting forward in the left channel. Still its obvious for the opposition to target our left side in 352 as Pickering/Riberio can get done for pace easily, and De Neve has such incredibly poor defensive awareness. Toth Miller Carter Cashin Alebiosu Baradji Tronstad Morishita Pickering Jorgensen. Gudjonsen I think 352 goes in the bin till Hedges is fit or we use it to close out games. On the positive side having Ohashi to bring on fresh should improve our ability to close out games significantly. And I agree Cantwell needs to be dropped. Absolutely horrendous decision making and execution of passing recently, though cant fault him for effort. 4231 obviously suits us better defensively now. But then as we have no comfortable wide forwards, offensively it looks very unsatisfying. I guess we could just push Alebiouso forward... But his game is about the overlap. Gah, such horrendous squad planning. Toth Alebiouso. Carter. McLoughlin. Cashin. Baradji Tronstad Afolayan Mori Jorgensen. Gudjonsen

I could well have misheard but I thought Wednesday fans were actually singing 'we want Venky's out' last night. -

Yes. As they have a really bad owner and at the time had a load of players who had talent but gave zero effort. A bit similar to us - we have a bad owner but players with arguably no talent that gave effort. 😂 -
Could you really do that though?

Forgot to add - Hassenhuttl A big no for me. Again, at Southampton I believe his assistants were the key to his success. When they went, so did his form and job. I could be wrong but I think they're all in management work elsewhere now. Edit: Danny Rohl was one of the assistants. He's now at Rangers and was linked to us when at Wednesday a year or so ago I think. -

I've watched pretty much all the Saints games, what with living down here, and even more pre-match/post-match content with Will Still. He's actually said multiple times that he doesn't really have a preferred style. He just tries to win games with the players he has and if they suit a certain style then he'll go with it. I'm sure he also spoke about wanting to change the way Southampton played but was restricted to the personal he had so couldn't. I guess a bit like V.Ismael saying the same with our lot (maybe a common excuse when you're losing? 😂). Personally, putting Saints results aside, I actually really liked him as a person. He comes across brilliant in interviews and doesn't shy away from performances from the team and his own. It's quite refreshing. Maybe that's what helped his demise - the players probably heard a lot of reality checks that they're not used to. Would I like him at Blackburn? Probably yes - I think he could be a good fit for us....however, throwing him into a relegation scrap is probably not the right time for him or for us. -
Considering our position, our form, our season, I couldn't care less if we played worse than that. We needed those 3 points. If we play the same against Norwich and win the game. Bring it on. Finally, I don't care what people say about Lewis Miller. I bloody love him. Cantwell, as captain, could learn a lot from him. He may not have the best technical ability but he gives 100% no matter what. I know that if he's playing, we will have at least 1 player who will be fighting for us fans to win that game. I just hope the other players look towards him to see the effort he puts in and tries to mirror that.

Like someone else mentioned...Warner or Hassenhuttl for me out of what's available. Rowett could be a potential short-term fix.Keep us up and then review. Warner and Rowett have both had some success in the championship previously, Hassenhuttl has never managed there so a bit riskier. Not too many exciting choices out there though. Please not Rooney and definitely not Coleman.

Agree Cashin looking very solid and that was a goal.poacher finish last night. 27 into 25 doesn't go. If Hedges is out to the summer it is pointless giving him a number. Then it would seem that Ribeiro and Kargbo are below third choice on the left so we are likely to get a Sigurdson situation with one or both of them. Kargbo looks like he has lost his pace whilst Ribeiro still has a lot to offer. -

Thankfully Norwich have had mixed results in the immediate past so that 5-0 romp at the Baggies is receding. In the do our utmost to avoid a loss category. First game where Johnson will have had a training session but suspect selection will be by committee. -
Under 17s reaching the final is a considerable achievement

Grateful for 3 points Grateful for injured players coming back Grateful Oxford lost despite being gifted the opening goal. Grateful Rovers hierarchy were faffing about potting Ishmael on deadline day so Pickering is still a Rover and not at Oxford. Grateful Baggies are in free fall. Very much doubt Johnson had much effect given Ishmael trained them and the starting line up was such a mish mash. Reason for hope going to Norwich but that wasn't a game to instil confidence in anyone. -

Does anyone know why it’s a 12.31 kick off time and not 12.30. Give Rovers Plus 1 and we might get a point, but see us leaving empty handed. -
I can’t think of anyone who has the flexibility to think tactically to get us out of this mess. And then build a solid team of youth and experience to compete in the championship. Oh yes. Back to the future. Sam Allardyce.

Always hurt, it seems. Tronstad, for Captain. Morishita has value, leads Rovers in assists (5). -
I want him simply for the media storm that would arrive with him.
-
Only what he did at Southampton at the same level as us with a much better squad.

Toth Miller Carter Cashin Alebiosu Baradji Tronstad Morishita Jorgensen Gudjohnson Afolayan 3-4-3 or 5-2-3 - this should be the team for the next game, drop De Neve and Cantwel, Sonny captain
