Spurs spent all afternoon trying to kick lumps out of Liverpool. I think that Simons was trying to block an anticipated pass backwards but got it all wrong. It was a sending off. His studs scraped all the way down van Dijk's calf. Romero is a prize idiot. The team captain shouldn't be sent off for kicking out, then make it worse by refusing to leave the pitch. What I found odd about that one is the ref gave Romero his second booking, so he'll only get a 1 game ban. He struck an opponent, shouldn't that be a straight red? I saw a bit of the Arsenal game. They were boring and Everton didn't seem like they wanted to put any effort in. Man U had to resort to bringing on two 18 year old subs. It may be a rough Christmas for them. Mbuemo is at AFCON and he has been a bright spot for them so far.

What’s new in the BRFCS Shop..?
Herbie6590 replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
No - we took it off sale as the Christmas delivery deadline had passed & we didn’t want anyone to be disappointed if it didn’t turn up in time. If you want one, I can activate it for a short window..? 🤔 -

I'm not saying we arent thin up front but these players should be able to play a period of games especially when they arent playing full games either. Just interesting that given the modern era of sports scientists and fitness coaches that they cant play a period of games. Injuries happen during games not much you can do if impact injury granted -
Makes it look so easy.

He tends to cause problems whenever he plays to be fair. Those problems though are sadly to us. -
Did anyone else notice that Morishita was picking up one of the big Millwall centre halves from set pieces. It was in a crowded penalty area and there was quite a bit of blocking but Morishita did his best to stay with him and to a degree succeeded because they didn't really hurt us. I'm guessing this is done to allow our bigger player to attack the ball.

From a personal POV, it gives me great pride to be associated with the site and to contribute in even the smallest way to keep it going. This really is a very good community in my opinion. We're blessed to have quite so many good contributors who log on and post daily. -

My contributions are nothing compared to the amount of work put into the website and the community by many others, but nonetheless I'm very proud to play some part of it. The tireless efforts to enhance and expand BRFCS, a lot of it unseen, are something special and I certainly don't take it for granted. If there's a better run traditional football forum and fan site on the internet I am yet to see it. Massive kudos to everyone involved. If those running things at Ewood had a tenth of the passion, commitment and love for Blackburn Rovers that the BRFCS community has, the club would be in a much better place. There may be differing opinions on here, but I have no doubt that all regular contributors here ultimately want nothing but the best for the club. Happy Christmas and New Year to all. -

The Aynsley Pears depreciation thread.
Andy replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He's been fine and hasn't made any match-defining errors, so I think we've come away from what was a concerning period for the majority of us, when Toth got injured. But, for sure, Toth comes straight back in. He's proven to be levels above Pears, when he was given a proper run in the side. -

Merry Christmas guys and thanks for the work you do - I moderate on another site and know how thankless a task it is. Regularly listen to (and enjoy) the pod, some really good content out there for Rovers supporters. Have a good one. -

Toth absolutely must return to No1 spot when he's fit again. It only takes one mistake for Pears' confidence to drain and then you get repeated mistakes for multiple games. We would ideally see Toth back in the sticks before that occurs this time. Pears has proven himself a capable backup. Not sure if he's on backup wages, mind. -

On his day Big Mak can cause problems. Unfortunately those days are few and far between, and I think when he's unmotivated they are essentially non-existent. I'd certainly play an academy player ahead of Gueye at this point.
-
I'd be tempted to stick with football if I was Wharton.
-
Defeatist attitude? He clearly isnt a player whose strengths include winning headers. Where he plays means that he rarely will be involved in winning headers. If suggesting that he shouldnt be marking a big, powerful striker who is really strong in the air from a set piece is me being defeatist, then fine. I never said anything about giving up either.
-
Why is a 6 footer clearly not going to win many headers ? For Wharton's sake I hope he doesn't have the sort of defeatist attitude shown in your post. To reach the very top in any walk of life requires a determination to be the best possible, not just giving up when things seem hard. To quote the old prayer " Do not ask for tasks equal to your powers, ask for powers equal to your task". A shining example of the right mentality would be Andy Murray where early in his career it looked as if stamina might be an issue; he worked his socks off to be one of the iron men of tennis. There is no reason why Wharton can't do something similar.
-
Another contrarian view. He clearly isnt a player who is going to win many headers nor should he be marking the oppositions main aerial threat known for scoring headers, if indeed he was.

roversfan99 replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
No one said that he should have started on the bench on Saturday. The point is that as is the case in tbe majority of positions, we have no choice but to keep playing him until he breaks down. Thats unfair that he was playing within himself. His durability is an exception to the rule. Nothing that you can say will convince me that our squad is anything other than very thin in particular in certain areas. -

Merry Christmas to all the people behind the scenes and thanks for your sterling work. It's sometimes taken for granted that the board will always be here without the realisation that there is some heavy lifting going on in the background. -
Makelele is 5ft 9inches tall so was not going to be defending balls in to the air at corners. In contrast Wharton is 6ft tall so it is not unreasonable to expect him to defend .
