  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah and he looked it when falling backwards into the net. Should have been dropped after '86, people can say what they want about the hand of god but that was awful goalkeeping.
  3. That's an incredible save by Patterson.
  4. The commentary on sky is always different to the commentary on Rovers TV. We have our own in-house duo for commentary.
  5. Sadly, 9/10 you do. Id like Sunderland to go up because Chris Wilder is an arsehole.
  6. Sheff Utd definitely the favourites, but its a one off game
  7. I'd be amazed if they lay a glove on Sheffield United.
  8. Hope Sunderland go up this afternoon, if only to show selling your best player and investing a portion of the profit on a couple of decent signings can actually achieve you success. You don’t need parachute riches.
  9. Today
  10. Weirdly though unproven are a better gamble than proven to be crap
  11. There is only a trajectory of decline in any business when the primary objective is cost cutting. You can get lucky for a while, but in the end it will fail. I guess the intention is to keep unearthing cheap gems, but even if we manage to achieve that we would probably not tie down their contract due to penny pinching. They can rebrand their so called model as many times as they like, but the true model is to save money and it’s an utterly depressing state of affairs with a downward trajectory.
  12. With Waggott being master Teflon - his departure, along with the very fast phase on ticket deadline as JHrover pointed out does hint at a very bleak summer ahead possible outgoings with value £ - brittain, Travis, tronstadt, cantwell, Carter (not the value we once hoped) no real money for Dolan too cheap fee outgoings - pears, Buckley, JRC No idea what to expect inbound but imagine a bunch of unknown quantities who are unproven at this level
  13. Off at a complete tangent as I've only just found this out Peter Shilton was 40 years old in the 1990 world cup. The rest of my day is completely in the clouds.😐
  14. Complaining about Tuchel's squads now is a bit like complaining about who Ismael selects in the pre season friendlies. All that matters is what happens at the World Cup. I still have a lot more confidence of Tuchel bringing success than I ever would have under wet lettuce Southgate.
  15. How much cheaper can we go? The squad is made up of FAs and Academy players.
  16. Was this revelation that Waggott had outside investment for the women's team sourced in the public domain previously or has it just emerged since the statement he was leaving earlier in the week? Don't recall hearing this before.
  17. I didn't say top level but they're both very good
  18. They are good Premier League centre backs, certainly not top level. Stones is done.
  19. Should happen more often if clubs feel it is warranted. John O’Hare tells of when he was banned from Anfield as a scout for Leicester City. It was because of the clear and obvious penalty he got for Forest when piledrived by Phil Thompson in the European Cup (he dived, obviously). He got to the ground and was told at reception ‘Fuck off, we don’t like you here’.
  20. I still say konsa and ghuei are quality centrebacks. Stones could return too
  21. Of course I would always rather see Wharton playing at as high a level as possible, including the men’s side BUT Devil’s Advocate: Might he benefit from playing every game of U21 international tournament football (similar to the old Toulon tournament) rather than two friendlies?
  22. Rovers are on the Big Match Revisited next Saturday at 10.30 am. It's a game against Oldham from August 1975.
  23. Based on his initial squads, there seems very little likelihood that the above will the midfield at the World Cup. Although even if it is, I dont know if it is sufficiently defensive to protect a below par defence. To think at one point, we had 6 or 7 centre backs all a world away from the current dearth in quality there.
  24. Venky's don't have enough interest to get involved and spend time looking for a 'better' COO. They are happy to have someone at Ewood taking the flak for them. If Pasha leaves, it will only be because he decides to. He would probably recommend one of his Kentaro/SEM mates as his replacement and Venky's would just go along with it.
  25. and probably the next 4-6 years too Mainoo may eventually replace Rice, but the others have 10+ years at the very top
