  1. Past hour
  2. The squad we have assembled ,is set to FAIL and unless something drastic happens in January , it will do ! Drastic , I mean 3 or 4 experienced championship footballers , who are fit to play ! I know , it won't happen !
  3. I suspect they will be more suitable than Venkys.
  4. Gav, do you think I know where we are in the league and am I worried about going down? Not at this stage. What we need a couple signings like a forward and creatively midfielder plus a centre back. its clear what we in terms of new signings now, its over to Rudy to deliver on that?
  5. I was listening to the Blackburn End podcast and they predicted this very outcome, if we did not rest him and play Pickering ( I think) instead...
  6. Yes. They think he's a class above what else they've got.
  7. If he's had a say in building this squad yes, to a degree. Anyone with a braincell saw Wharton and Carter getting injured for long periods and we should have already had cover. As for the hamstring injuries, a combination of our neglected facilities and nonexistent squad rotation absolutely have contributed. This is at least in part because the squad they've built isn't trusted because it isn't good enough.
  8. I think that's the point. You're not nostalgic, but Bennett would comfortably start on Sunday as either CM or RWB. Lucas Joao would also walk into our starting lineup alongside Yuki. In 10 years time I expect Forshaw, Taveres and Gardener-Hickman will read like Guthrie, Lowe and Akpan. Feeney is your De Neve. I really think they are on a par with each other.
  9. I’ve heard this too. Castore had a rough start with botched up kits like the wolves badge being upside down. Currently, the Everton kit looks pretty smart but don’t forget, the dingles have this manufacturer too.
  10. Injury to Litherland seems very predictable to me (albeit saying in hindsight). A novice with little league experience more accustomed to playing at CB for the U21s. It was always asking too much to play a number of full games at full back in quick succession.
  11. I like the irony of this popping up when I clicked that link.
  12. I think it's easier to look half decent as a central defender when you're playing in a negative back 5 with 2 CDM's sat in front. They were abysmal in a back 4 earlier in the season.
  13. Sometimes its worth looking into the "injury crisis." Wrexham yesterday had no Keiffer Moore, Josh Windass, Ryan Hardie, Danny Ward, James McLean, Lewis Brunt and 1 or 2 others. Also like us had a key wing back at AFCON. Sheffield Wednesday had more injuries than us. We had 2 summer signings yesterday who couldnt get any minutes despite the "injury crisis." We had another summer signing stinking the place out up front. We had another senior player signed by Gestede who has been dreadful and whilst being available, wasnt seen as worth including. And you look at those who are out, how many are out if you ignore those who are of little no use or those whose injuries were predictable? Wharton and Carter, we cant whinge about those as their injuries could be seen a mile off. Kargbo, Forshaw, Montgomery, Tavares, do we miss any of them? The main issue is not injuries. The squad we have "built" was never going to have the quality or depth needed and so it has been proven. You can either buy the narrative of hard luck or challenge it. But at least we are supposedly "prepared" coming into this window. Hopefully a rejected bid can score the winner against Charlton.
  14. It is just not going to happen, is it? From the beginning, they have put unqualified , sometimes third rate people in charge of key positions... Suhail, Cheston, Kean, Singh, Bowyer, Coyle, Agnew, Shaw, Senior, Gestede...and that's just off he top of my head..
  15. I think you’re being far too kind on McLoughlin and Miller, I’ll be honest.
  16. That's my point but that's hasn't affect the owners decisions maker. The Walker Family could held on until the TV rights and used that money
  17. Yeah significantly might be pushing it, I forgot Lenihan had already broken through at that point. Still, we had Jason Steele in goal. A midfield with, apart from the solid Conway, Jason Lowe, Hope Akpan, Liam Feeney... And I can't say I'm the slightest bit nostalgic for players like Emnes, Ward, Guthrie, Gallagher or Bennett.
  18. Alebiosu and Gudjohnsen have been our star buys and proved their worth. McLoughlin and Miller have been good and before yesterday game we had a 6th best defensive record and 3 clean sheets in a row The biggest disappointed has been Tavares, De Neve and Henriksson
  19. Yet we are 20th and potentially going down chaddy. You, like every Rovers fan, must be worried, especially with our ability to recruit. The season gets tougher every Christmas when injuries hit and pitches get heavy, this season is no different and I can’t see a way out right now. One stroke of luck we have had though, is Sheff Weds points deduction, as that means they take up 1 spot, only 2 more are available, thankfully.
  20. It shows the fragility of the man when he has told the stewards to ban the “Pasha Out” banner Hes a worm. A man who cannot take criticism is not a man at all
  21. Bit shit this fella though, don’t you think Chadster?
  22. is that the fault of the head coach over players picking hamstring injury like Gudjohnsen 60 minutes into a game or Wharton picking up an injury due to impact of a challenge?
  23. It's definitely making a major contribution and it has for years if we are being honest. Mowbrays mid winter death spirals weren't helped because of the lack of quality and depth. Since then the squads have got lighter and lighter (cheaper and cheaper) and quality less and less before we lump fatigue, injuries etc on top. Shocking way to run a club if you want to be the least bit competitive outside the bottom 3rd. However it can't go unmentioned Ismaels dreadful home record and most of the performances overall. Him and his staff just don't seem to have a clue at home when the onus is on us. We should become the first club in history to have 2 separate head coaches, one for home and one for away. Because it's difficult to see how anybody could do any worse at home than him.

  25. Even if there aren't other champ clubs interested I'd stay at Barnsley if I was him
