  1. Past hour
  2. I posted back around April that I'd been told the senior players were annoyed with the manner of Eustace's departure, the lack of ambition in the club and their general dealing with the board (who I took as Waggot / Pasha). Since then Baath and Weimann haven't re-signed. Brittain wants out. No progress on Tronstadt and Travis. The club know this and so far our recruitment seems to be to place them on the cheap.
  3. Maybe Brittain saw Alebiosu in training on Friday and thought "fuck that, he's going to take my job" šŸ˜‰
  4. Elliott Jackson said that Ismael hinted that we would potentially go with Alebiosu and Montgomery at right back. That would be ridiculous but it would be cheap and help them to hit the arbitary academy minutes target so wouldnt surprise anyone.
  5. Think even a clone of 1/4 of each of Ferguson, Pep, Ancelotti and Michels would struggle with that starting eleven.
  6. Sign Alebiosu on Thursday and on Friday Brittain has suddenly downed tools, as if Boro had just emerged out of no where. I suspect Boro have been in contact with Brittain for some time, hence why he was "close" to signing a new deal 3 weeks ago, which never happened. The club will have been after a right back anyway but i'm sure they were aware of Brittain's desire to leave, and so moved for Alebiosu as his replacement, once it was clear he wasn't staying. Let's not forget that the club instantly turned the whole situation back onto Brittain by saying he chose not to play. Now the majority of fans (on social media at least) aren't bothered about him going, calling him a snake etc. or "he's only had 1 good season". Job done from the clubs point of view. Might get a loan from the prem later in the window as cover but yeah, Alebiosu is CB's replacement, 100%. Edit: Also, how many times do we sign a player and in their interview they say they've known about our interest in them for a long time. These things don't just happen overnight.
  7. When he played last season he didn't cross when could have and preferred a back pass. Same on Saturday. Good ball control and hungry player.
  8. He got a lot of stick on here in the past (mostly aimed at his apearance and demeanor šŸ˜…) but seemed a good loyal popular member of staff. Be gutted if d Johnson gets pushed out too
  9. Confirmation Lowe has gone https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25311387.valerien-ismael-confirms-exit-blackburn-rovers-coach/
  10. Sorry not as sure it's been mentioned anywhere else and didn't want to create a new thread.... But it's been pretty much confirmed that david lowe has left the club
  11. Alebiosu is 23 years old, has played over 50 senior games and cost us a fee. He's the replacement. The cynic in me says he always was.
  12. Anywhere else, and I would agree.
  13. Yeah the replacement may well be albieosu. From all accounts that young lad Montgomery was the best player on the pitch on Saturday, I've read? Maybe they will have those two competing for the position who knows? It would seem strange to sell both him and jrc and rely on two lads, with little to no championship experience.
  14. It doesn't matter at Rovers once the ink is dry on the contract you can say what you want. You might rile the SD or CEO sorry COO or whatever his imaginary title is but they won't sack you because A - Can't afford to B - Don't have the outright power to do so. So once feet are under the table you are quids in, won't get sacked, do well in difficult circumstances but regularly hint at your frustrations and other clubs will be watching. Then engineer your own exit, may take a while but it'll come and even though those above you are aware they can't do anything about it unless Pune gets angry. Even then they'll try and head it off because they also might get the boot for recommending you in the first place. They'll also get a pat on the back if they rake in compen. Ismael will view this like the others as a stepping stone back into a better job and more money all he has to do is keep the team stable in the league and try and coach value into individuals. The big lad is quids in here regardless.
  15. Could you send this to the club, you never know, if they are pre-warned they may look into the questions, and be able to give reasonable answers at the meeting.
  16. I hope Dolan finds something soon and moves on with his career and does as well as he can. I'm not convinced his ceiling is much higher than our current level, but would be happy to be proved wrong. I don't hold any grudge against him, he never developed as much as I hoped he would at Ewood, but he always worked his arse off every time he played. He may not be worth as much in wages as he thinks he is, but that's probably true of most footballers, you have to back yourself and show ambition. I don't know how much we've offered him but I wouldn't be surprised if our offer was beyond the pale and insulting. I think there's a reason so many players are letting their contract run down here or desperately being linked elsewhere in the media via their agents. It's probably somewhere between us being complete cheapskates and an absolute circus with no ambition. Understandable
  17. Today
  18. Even with favourable game times for me I saw very few matches. It wasn't something that was on my radar. I did watch yesterday though as I had spare time due to being sat in an airport waiting for my delayed flight, as is the norm at the moment over here. The South American teams are mid-season so are fully match fit. City wanted nothing to do with the tournament as their early exit proved. What do Chelsea do now? The Prem season starts in a month. Do they get any time off? Will they have any preseason?
  19. Maybe not so with Dolan but you'd think most with a balanced thought process would understand the situation Brittain is in, might not agree with his actions but understand why. Then again......
  20. I did suspect that V was going to be a yes man, but I’m not too sure now. I agree with what you have said and do think he will do one, if things go pear shaped, due to them not backing him.
  21. * Yuki Ohashi: July 31, 2024 * Makhtar Gueye: July 30, 2024 * Todd Cantwell: August 30, 2024
  22. Isn't the next one planned for Saudi maybe in the winter ?
  23. Might we get a couple of overs of a new ball? This is too close to call now.
  24. In case anyone isn't aware yet, we're into the freebie loan and 'just missed out' part of the window
