  1. Past hour
  2. I agree. It definitely wasn’t a dull game. Perhaps it being a friendly dulled the excitement for a few, but I found it to be a good contest. I spoke to a few Elche fans, who fancy themselves to give a decent account of themselves, in La Liga, so they will be a decent side. I might go and watch them a bit this coming season, especially if Dolan makes an appearance there.
  3. Do you think we’re going into day five? Weather permitting, I’m not sure we will be.
  4. Brook has a test average of over 57, which is more than the ‘little master’ Sachin Tendulkar and way more than Geoffrey. Come on Jim, It’s about time you acknowledged the efforts of Baz and Stokes and the way they’ve dragged England out of the test match gutter, they may even get a result in the ashes if you’re very lucky!
  5. Our net spend is in the green by my calculations, or at least breaking even. Obviously we don't know the undisclosed fee's but you can make a guesstimation. Sales: JRC: 750-1m Kid to Chelsea- 1m Dolan- 270k Sales = 2.27m Buys: De Neve: 300k (maybe less) Mcgloughlin 500k Alebiousu 500k (maybe less) Tavares Probably 750k (2 million is absolute bullshit) Between 2 & 2.25m Give or take the sales and buys tally and correlate to a spend what you bring in plan. So in my opinion, we've spent absolutely fuck all so far, depends on how gullible you are about the Tavares fee. And let's not forget, there are still players likely or who could possibly leave, Buckley, Brittain, Trav, Tronstad. I guarantee, we'll be in the green by the end of the transfer window.
  6. Didn’t find the game dull as per RF99. Was a good test in draining heat. Took Rovers a while to work themselves into the game as Elche were good in possession. But despite that Rovers kept any chances to a minimum and gradually worked themselves into the game and carried more threat then Elche after the first 30 mins. So a good interesting test. There will be teams that have a lot more of the ball than us in the championship and we looked organised out of possession. Wharton pinged some good long range passes and would be my first choice LCB right now. Be interesting if he can find Kargbo consistently with balls over the top…don’t think they’ve played much together in preseason. Toth definite number 1. Brittain hasn’t downed tools. Hyam more obviously vocal in a quieter stadium (surprised me that). Personal preference for Pickering over Rebeiro. Can take a set piece (and Cantwell’s were generally disappointing). Travstad combo busy and effective. Hedges often an outlet and kept things moving but not enough output as per. May be more iMprotant to VI in front of the new RB who clearly likes to bomb on. De Neve really got up and down but more Labore than Arte. Kargbo seriously quick but a bit untidy with the ball. Had a good shout for a penalty from where I was sitting. Ohashi had some nice touches but Geuye looked a more effective striker up against those centre backs. He needs to look after his arms when jumping though. Will pick up a few more yellows if not. Impressed with the turnout from fans. Good effort and good friendly atmosphere. Respect to the players for coming over for selfies etc after the game with a few freebies for kids in the crowd An all round good experience.
  7. I genuinely don't believe Pasha and Gestede are capable of it
  8. We're not talking about actually scoring goals though 😁
  9. It’s about as necessary as you responding to this when it doesn’t involve you really . But here we are
  10. Tyjon starts in that 10 position for me. Looks like he has the lot, quick, good on the half turn, can kick a stationary ball, good vision.
  11. Did well in his half season at Marine (6th tier) last year, where he was with with Montgomery, but yes, think he needs a 4th or 5th tier loan Olsen did well on his loan at Altrincham (5th tier), so loans for Atcheson, Litherland & Pratt, who are all ahead of him in the pecking order, should be minimally at that level, ideally League 2 as long as they are pretty much guaranteed starters
  12. His sense of taste must be all in his mouth. Last time I saw him he was in central Manchester and he was walking with a stick. Great player though. One who could genuinely play in every position on the pitch snd look class.
  13. I think Atcheson definitely need to go on loan. He needs to get knocked about a bit and learn to get the knocking about in first. A bit of rough and tumble lower league stuff will do him the world of good.
  14. Whether him leaving is a loss or not will depend on how good (or not) his replacement turns out to be.
  15. I think if Montgomery is going to make it as far as the first team is concerned it’ll be in midfield.
  16. Waiter waiter, my tomato soup has too much tomato in it
  17. I often wonder how this clown has a role at this club in any capacity, but then we’ve had plenty of stains since the Venkys have been here so it’s not that surprising.
  18. Good luck to him, it’s no great loss.
  19. I honestly thought this was a transfer thread. So far, it’s been name calling, back biting and moaning about ex players. C’mon guys. We all want to see positive signings but the falling out on here is akin to playgrounds!
  20. Today
  21. It really isn't necessary to keep on making your point over and over again. You're dominating this thread but not illuminating it.
