Sparky Marky Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Looks like Williams is protecting our fee when he looks to leave at the end of this season.....Hopefully another £15m bit of business when he does go to a top 4 club..... Good business...!!!

jim mk2 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 So I'm prepared to bet the value of my ST at Ewood with you for the 2012-2013 season / or a pint in the Blues Bar that RSC does not see out the next 4 years at BRFC...... Serious debilitating injury excepted of course. Cor, bet that's fun. Sharing a pint with a miserable old git who'd "give you a slap" (Gordon's words) if you don't agree with him. He's right though (there's a first time for everything): Cruz could well be off in January if he continues to score goals.
T4E Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Certainly a different tune than the one Bellamy sang, when we rescued him. Really? Bellamy makes Rovers vow However, the 26-year-old has assured Rovers fans that he has no intention of quitting and is instead looking forward to progressing under the guidance of Hughes. "I'm not just here for a season and then going to say 'Thanks a lot'," said Bellamy. "I want to try and do as well as I can for Blackburn."
Ronin Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 "People sometimes say when you are in a good position, you need to go to a better team," Santa Cruz told the Daily Mail. "But I have something to pay back to the club. Good to hear from Roque, but it's a bit surprising that that paper is even featuring something good about Rovers. The tide has turned?
brfc4ever Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Really? Bellamy makes Rovers vow I forgot about his words. But he was out the door 5 mins after that interview. For some reason I dont see Roque doing that.
T4E Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I'd love to think you're right. It is amusing how we get suckered in every time, forgetting the lessons of the past and buying in to our latest heroes vitriol.
Lathund Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 All it means is that we will command a bigger transfer value to share out with RSC and his agent (and likely Bayern Munich) when he eventually does move on. Yes, it's clearly a bad thing to get more money for him when he'll leave You'll just ignore any sensible reply to your absurd posts as you always do, but I'll still point out that this is positive news, whichever way you look at it. Does it mean he'll be here forever? No, of course not, and contrary to what you seem to think, none of us believe that. But do you honestly believe that him signing a new contract, and making positive comments about the club, hurts Blackburn Rovers FC? Good news is good news, there's no point complaining about winning the lotto just because it wasn't a Jackpot that week.
thenodrog Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Good stuff ..... but a word of warning to those with memories of the average goldfish..... You'll just ignore any sensible reply to your absurd posts as you always do, but I'll still point out that this is positive news, whichever way you look at it. In the immortal words of Capt Mainwareing..... 'Stupid boy'. Or does 'good stuff' mean something else in Swedish Lathund?
blue phil Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 It is amusing how we get suckered in every time, forgetting the lessons of the past and buying in to our latest heroes vitriol. These days if a club Rovers' size gets two seasons out of a top quality players it's good business . Can't be helped .
Beta Ray Bill Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I'd love to think you're right. It is amusing how we get suckered in every time, forgetting the lessons of the past and buying in to our latest heroes vitriol. Ehh? What's RSC said that is vitriolic?
Bobby G Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 One of the truly nice guys of football, who knows what loyalty is if you read the Daily Mail article published on tribal football. http://tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=108301 He knows this is a transitional year and didnt want to leave us to dust after the wholesale changes we have had. He basically says he owed us this season to be here, but that the club knows he is very ambitious. Bottom line is I dont see Champions League teams knocking down the door for him, which means we have to qualify for the UEFA Cup if we want to retain him, otherwise he is off next season...
Billy Castell Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Only Rovers fans can react to a star striker signing a new contract. Well done guys you should be proud of yourselves. Who'd want to sign for such a miserable bunch of twerps who demand the moon on a stick and then complain they can't hold it up. He may go to another club next season, he may stay. Lets see what happens before we condemn another player.
olly Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 He's re-signed, and now he's up for an award at the Northwest Football Awards, vote at www.northwestfootballawards.co.uk ! He was brilliant last season and showed loyalty in staying at Ewood - let's repay Roque Santa Cruz! Olly the Rover
T4E Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Ehh? What's RSC said that is vitriolic? Don't nitpic Ed, you know exactly the point I was making.
67splitscreen Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Has any one heard anything about Roque's injury.
Presty On Tour Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 same injury he had against wolves, around 2 weeks out tops.
yellowsubmarine Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Has any one heard anything about Roque's injury. Not yet but i hope the injury isn't serious. We need him for Arsenal.
dr_awol Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 same injury he had against wolves, around 2 weeks out tops. 14 days to the Arsenal game, a game where we NEED him. will he be fit?
67splitscreen Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Are these the same type of injury's he suffered at Bayern
Beta Ray Bill Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Don't nitpic Ed, you know exactly the point I was making. Nope, I don't. I wasn't sure if I'd missed something and there was a nasty comment from Rocky, or if you'd used vitriol when you probably meant rhetoric. That I could understand, if not necessarily agree with.
CrazyIvan Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport...Roque_recovery/ News on Roque's injury...
Cocker Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 14 days to the Arsenal game, a game where we NEED him. will he be fit? To be fair I would rather he sat out of the Arsenal game to make sure he was right for the Fulham game.
