sambo Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Hmm I do want some self respect though, we're fast becoming a bit of a laughing stock for our pitiful surrenders away at bigger clubs. People paid nearly 50 quid for the ticket alone so I hope they're not more short changed than they already would be at them prices.

beerwins Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I really used to look forward to games against the top 4 but this season i would be more than happy if the top 4 teams buggered off to a super league and left us mere mortal teams alone
Backroom Tom Posted May 17, 2009 Backroom Posted May 17, 2009 I don't care. We're safe! :) We can lose 100-0 and I'll still not be bothered. It's been too long a season. Couldn't agree more, job done for this season.
jonv Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 1 NIL! But we're staying up, 1 NIL yes we're still staying up, 1 nil oh we're still staying UP, 1 NIL AND WE'RE STILL STAAYING UP
Tim Southampton Rover Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I think the positive thing so far about todays game is that we've had a couple of chances already at their goal so hopefully we'll create a few more and maybe take one.
Backroom Tom Posted May 17, 2009 Backroom Posted May 17, 2009 Playing well so far, we look vunerable but have made a few chances.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 The negative thing is that they should be 3-0 up! Oh I don't care. We are staying up!
Ossydave Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 We've had more efforts on goal than them, very open game. Samba should have bagged from that cross Diouf put in, terrible header.
Paul Mellelieu Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 We're playing some decent stuff. Could be a couple more down though.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I think the difference is that they look like scoring when they attack whereas we don't.
Backroom Tom Posted May 17, 2009 Backroom Posted May 17, 2009 Carlos looks lively, sometimes i feel we just need to have a shot when given a chance
bennyboyt11 Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Impressed by our approach to this game, was expecting us to shut up shop but we're trying some open play
Backroom Tom Posted May 17, 2009 Backroom Posted May 17, 2009 Never a free kick Grella played the ball then Essien ran into his foot no idea why fatboy is so upset
HemelRover Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Im really likeing what Carlos is doing today. Hes had some very nice touches, positive passing and looking to move the play forward. Blimey, just seen him tackle Essien and come away with the ball.....Essien not having a good one, just copped a Grella sixe 10 boot right in the knackers!
Manc Rover Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Ouch pity it was essien and not lampard on the end of grella's studs
Backroom Tom Posted May 17, 2009 Backroom Posted May 17, 2009 Nelsen injured, Samba at the back doran right wing and diouf up top i imagine
Grabbi Graeme Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Nelsen injured Doran on and Samba back in back 4
RoverRich Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Good to see the youngster Doran given a chance to see what he can do but you have to feel for the likes of Zurab and Benni. Zurab hardly had a chance all season, the only recognised CB on the bench and he gets overlooked for a teenager and a reshuffle. Then Benni has a CB chosen ahead of him to start up front and when he has to drop back to defence, Benni still doesn't get on. I suppose you can argue we know what he is about and it is time to look to the future now
Rovermatt Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Dreadful stuff. It never ceases to amaze me that professional footballers can't retain possession of the ball.
Martin Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 A few observations: 1) Benni's future must be in doubt. I don't think he runs enough for Sam. 2) The teams in the bottom half of the table have only won 1 out of 58 games against the top 4. That gap is widening. 3) We're safe. Brilliant. Come on boys - give us a goal.
Mr. E Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 If the players are supposed to be out there proving their worth I really don't see that happening. What must players like Pedersen do to understand that if they can't cross or pass they should let someone else do it? Chelsea are only 1-0 up cause they haven't bothered to try for more.
