Ricky Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I think elmander was bought for around £10m wasnt he.
brian_gallagher85 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Yes they definitely paid big money for him, but as he has around 6 months left on his contract he may be available for a lot less.
philipl Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 £11m paid for Elmander. Comes down to their attitude to the debts, much of which is to the owners. I'd guess they will be going for a new contract for Elmander at Bolton.
Dunnfc Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 We need this guy 18 year old sega keita, perhaps eddie will shine more light on him, young midfielder from troyes in france. Set to be big in the future, sam loves his french lads and could fit in with our buying future stars and developing them etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Keita
imy9 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Elmander is out of contract in the summer, two million will sound tempting in January to bolton.
Backroom trueblue Posted November 20, 2010 Backroom Posted November 20, 2010 Elmander is out of contract in the summer, two million will sound tempting in January to bolton. I doubt even Bolton would be looking to accept a £9M loss on him
philipl Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 PaulPlunkettLT Paul Plunkett RT @he6rt6gr6m Sam's in for Tchite, Tripy Makonda and Shaun Wright-Phillips, according to the Mail. Two denied weeks ago. #Rovers All untrue
Bobby G Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 When did we ever have the LT confirm real interest in a player...
ada2020 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 When did we ever have the LT confirm real interest in a player... Rumour has it they know of a "msytery" target. Interesting that Twitter feeds were the subject of much ridicule and classed as a sign of "un-proffesional" behavior a few months ago, now they seem to be deemed a reliable and informative source...............
BuckyRover Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I only started using Twitter a month or so ago. Might be linked?
47er Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Adel Tarrabt - Creative genius for QPR, i justthink hed spice things up for us hes a big talent shame spurs got rid this summer. Adam Hammill - Cracking winger for Barnsley, banged them in this year and seems to have grown up abit a dynamic Bentley. Ashley Williams - Swansea centre half, great talent. Antony Annan - Might see him now! Javier pinola - Nuremburg left back, argie lad and has a cap for them. Good Talent but getting older at 27. 2 million tops. Lewis McGugan - Forests box to box midfelder, going to be an england player one day. only 21/22. A TRIAL FOR RIVALDO might be 38 but could be ok till the end of the year, no harm in a trial as he's on a free. Pires 37 just signed for Villa. Some intelligent tips there. Personally I've always thought we have ignored potential talent in the lower leagues. Get them early and we're on a winner.
chaddyrovers Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 carew linked with rovers in the sunday mirror and people http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Blackburn-to-rescue-John-Carew-from-his-Aston-Villa-misery-article632701.html http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/football-hotline/2010/11/21/blackburn-go-for-aston-villa-hitman-john-carew-102039-22728085/ basically the same article
67splitscreen Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 carew linked with rovers in the sunday mirror and people http://www.mirrorfoo...icle632701.html http://www.people.co...02039-22728085/ basically the same article Nicko on holiday, I reckon they are guessing, as Nicko said the other day, huge wages and a decent fee.
Steve Moss Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 The three positions that are being looked at are - striker, right side midfield and creative midfield. All in need of improvement. If we can get these three in January, then over the summer we can focus on our right back and left back issues. I think it all depend on how much we have to spend. I know we heard about 5 million but Why would you tell other teams how much he have to spend because then prices will go up. Striker- [delete too expensive strikers] - Sam will collect someone from France, as is his habit. right side midfield- O'Neil, Larrson, Bentley, Landon Donovan midfield playermaker- Adam, Steven Davis, Kranjcar I would imagine these are going to be the names we hear about. Big Sam wants players who can make an impact striaght away after signing them. I think Donovan (I know, expensive) and Kranjcar would transform the Rovers into real contenders. Our existing strike force would flourish with the two of them in the midfield.
ewoodnews Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 We do not know the exact amount of money that we have to spend in January but if we say 5m plus cash for any sold, grella, roberts, givet then i think we should have at least 10m to spend which isn't much but more than enough to bring the 3 players we need. people are saying crouch as a strike were i feel he is out of our price range as he is currently plsying every other game. however i think a bid for Robbie Keane could be a good target as he hasn't been playing much since the start of the season, i also think a giving Carew a chance wouldn't be the worst signing if roberts were to leave Another possible target from spurs is O'Hara although he is currently out with a back injury but could be a palyermaker that we are looking for in midfield. but i also agree that Kranjcar would be a good signing dependant on wages December is a major month for rovers with 5 games against team who will be in and around us come then end of the season whilst a good run, starting against villa and utd and continuing into december, could improve our chances of getting higher caliber players in January.
Bobby G Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 One stupid newspaper says some rubbish about Givet and now suddenly he is on the way out supposedly. He is a starter and an important one at that.
Smithy Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 One stupid newspaper says some rubbish about Givet and now suddenly he is on the way out supposedly. He is a starter and an important one at that. Seconded.
Amo Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I wonder if we have the cash to make a move for D'Alessandro? The perfect player to play the second-striker in Dunn's absence.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Today's BBC gossip roundup is touting Krancjar as "£7m rated". That's enough for me to write him off, we don't need to spend that on a left footed central midfielder.
Smithy Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I wonder if we have the cash to make a move for D'Alessandro? The perfect player to play the second-striker in Dunn's absence. I'm keen to see what happens since Sam has come out and said "Marque signing" if he can persuade the rovers board to fund Salgado perhaps he can Venky's to sign one player of true quality. But for me that has to be a frontman.
pick32 Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Nicklas Bendtner would be the perfect marque signing, would cost 10-15million I think, but exactly the type of striker sam likes, and he wants out of arsenal for regular first team football.
chaddyrovers Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 were we not interest in Guiza last summer? could be a target. I still think that we will sign players like Carew or Ngog, Larsson and Adam in January. Think Big Sam wants players who will hit the ground running when they come in and HAVE premiership experience.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I'm keen to see what happens since Sam has come out and said "Marque signing" if he can persuade the rovers board to fund Salgado perhaps he can Venky's to sign one player of true quality. But for me that has to be a frontman. Tuncay is a player we've been linked with for quite a few years now. Wouldn't mind someone, not neccessarily Tuncay, with that kind of creativity.
imy9 Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Nicko you said we would see names of players this morning seems to be nothing in the people, any update?
