Tim Southampton Rover Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 We're going to win 5-0. BTW, I now support Arsenal I will be delighted if Blackburn get a draw against Arsenal. I don't think it will happen but I just want to see us fight for our survival. If we lose but show how much we want to stay up then I will be heading into the other games with a lot more confidence.

Grabbi Graeme Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 To be fair joey, this message board was the same under Sam before an away game at Arsenal. Positive, it ain't. It was the same for any away game under Sam, not just Arsenal
Seggie Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Lets hope Venkys have organised a party for their mates again. Seriously I would love it if Rovers went there and got a win but history even with decent managers say we won't. We will lose 5/6-0 I hope I am wrong but I can't see anything positive from this game

Iceman Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Olsson to Jones, who passes to Hoilett who slips. However the ball ricochets off Diaby, and straight to Roberts. Roberts shoots, and his boot goes flying and hits Almunia against the head
Rover & Out Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Any sort of result on Saturday is a bonus, I think it's just important we don't get embarrassed! Then again, we responded quite well to the 7-1 at Old Trafford...
47er Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Kean's comments were a bit odd saying good time to play Arsenal as they had their players away on international duty. Presume he is referring to the rest of the team apart from Fabregas, Walcott, Song, and Diaby who are all are back in contention to play (and were not involved in the internationals I don't think). Think I know what he was getting at though... Typical of the way our luck is going. Adam back for Blackpool last game, 4 back for Arsenal this week. When the Gods have made their mind up......... What chance 3 penalties conceded in 3 games? On the other hand it would be nice to rub this smug goon's face in it. http://goonerholic.com/2011/04/this-will-be-a-good-day/?
CAPT KAYOS Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 On the other hand it would be nice to rub this smug goon's face in it. http://goonerholic.com/2011/04/this-will-be-a-good-day/? Typical Gooner mongs Reason I always seemed to get in trouble when I go to the aArseholes (Highbury). West Brom managed to get at them in 2 matches - no reason (except for Kean) that we can't - should have beaten them at home really, which I feel we would have if we had had more belief
rigger Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Can you imagine if we managed to win..... People after the game would be saying we could qualify for Europe! What a made league it is this season We really need to take points off the teams near the bottom of the table. If it was a choice of beating The Arse, or beating Brum or Wolves, I would choose Brum or Wolves, although these results would give us less media haedlines.
Presty On Tour Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 1pt above the relegation zone, bottom of the form table, clueless owners and a crap manager. 500+ mile round trip against Arsenal where we usually get dicked and on it's the telly, yet we still sell out our allocation. Blackburn support best in the world, keep the faith!

savage8 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 http://goonerholic.com/2011/04/this-will-be-a-good-day/? was that meant to be funny? utter shoite
PAFELL Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 We really need to take points off the teams near the bottom of the table. If it was a choice of beating The Arse, or beating Brum or Wolves, I would choose Brum or Wolves, although these results would give us less media haedlines. We need points off any team in the next 8 games and others to drop points. One thing in Rovers favour is the goal average is better than other teams below us. Considering Rovers conceeded 7 at manure. Sadly if could change for the worse tomorrow, though lets hope not.
Presty On Tour Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Just read the last time we beat Arsenal away in the league was 1997. Pretty sure we won 2-1 and Brad did 1 or 99 saves.
Bennisfromheaven Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I would be over the moon with a point!! Just to give us a little hope & confidence going into the Birmingham game. Every game we loose makes our next game harder & harder!!!
Presty On Tour Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 2003 wasn't it? Yorke with two goals? 2003 sounds more like it, Yorke and an og i think. What happened in 1997 then? The only other game that comes to mind at Highbury was when Sutton scored in injury time from a corner. Arsenal had a player injured and kicked the ball out for a throw. We threw it back and they tried wasting time at the back so we closed them down and won the corner. The media went mental.
Mattyblue Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 We won there in December 1997 to go top of the table, Kevin Gallagher cracked one in from 25 yards.
onlyonejackwalker Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I seem to remember a 1-0 away at Arsenal early in the 1990's. I think Newell got the winner at the Arsenal end, but their crowd was missing at that end due to renovation and there was a mural in place. I think it was the same period we battered Liverpool at home 4-1 and I remembered thinking we were in the big time with these kind of results. Mural really got behind the Arsenal first team, much better than the normal crowd.
john-rover Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 won 2-1 with only one shot on target all game, was there and remember tiny Taylor hacking couple of the line..
Ozz Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Our last league win at Arsenal was 2002. Edu OG and Yorke with the winner. Rovers report. Previous to that we have only won twice there, in 1997 3-1 (Gally's wonder goal ) and 1992 when Newell swept home in a 1-0 infront of the mural as mentioned above. We've lost 6-2 twice in the last four years, but I have to say I would be happy (and massively surprised) with us getting two tomorrow.
