Clitherover Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Is there any chance we could get a transfer links only thread up as per usual? I'm sure i'm not the only one fed up of trawling through posts of speculation and trolling. Cheers.

PAFELL Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I think you should. Why do you continue trying to wind up other posters on this board. Insinuate that they are lying etc. Snide little digs. It really is pathetic. Just because you have not heard things from the club, does not mean others have not. Nicko has already confirmed that what the poster said about a 16m clause in Phil Jones contract is true. Therefore the imformation given was true. yet you still had a pop at the messenger Get a life. That's fair enough, I suppose you're always going to get people who don't like what they hear. They certainly shouldn't spoil it for the rest of us. Good news on the Jones front though. I wonder who's gonna put their money where their mouth is. Kenwoo continue posting imfo you get - if able. Ignore the idiots who want to shoot the messenger.
slough_rover Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Can we have one thread for outgoings and one for incoming please as I dont want to have to trawl through pages of Jones hysteria to find anything of note.
Mercer Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Cheap and cheerfull retort, just what I would expect. This is one of the issues with this MB - people like yourself do not respect the right for others to express a view without denigrating the individual. Whether you care or not about anyone's opinion, It's best to keep those views personal otherwise that individual just feels a right to defend himself or retaliate, as I've done here, and you then end-up with personal trivia that no others are interested in and that adds no value to the MB. Correct me if I'm wrong, but have I ever personally attacked you in the past ?

Just when it was agreed to stick to transfers what a surprise that you should come along with your usual pitiful posts. Just like with the Academy thread that you have tried to twist. I'm an idiot? I need 'to get a life'? You've got some ###### front. Mug.
pick32 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 rovers and newcastle in for playmaker Anything in this one Nicko?
PAFELL Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I think some former employees of the club are doing some talking at the moment...good to see the black propaganda team are hard at work. Rather sad, actually. Can you clarify Nicko - what are they saying?

alexanders Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Think we have been linked with Shikabala before. In general I don't link Egyptians attitudes. They give up way to easily and have a bad work effort. However Shikabala impressed me when I was watching Egypt (in the ACN I think).
HemelRover Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Keep it on topic guys. I know that any news about Jones leaving is going to be emotive and upsetting dont let the thread disolve into infighting, bitching and off topic posts. Lets keep it transfers please.

Iceman Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 rovers and newcastle in for playmaker Anything in this one Nicko? Egypts best player, fantastic player and very creative. However, like a lot of Egyptian players ie Zidan, Hassan, Mido etc, they do tend to be very lazy.. Shikibala was absolutely terrible against South Africa, and in the rest of the qualifiers hence Egypt amazingly not qualifying for the African Nations Cup. If there is an Egyptian player we must look at, or at least offer a trial to, its Mohamed "Gedo" Nagy..
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Blackburn boss Kean open-minded on Roque Santa Cruz bid
alexanders Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Hope its a smokescreen while we do other business.
Rover & Out Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Keep Jones at all cost should have been the battle cry - unfortunately it seems we’ve shot ourselves in the foot (again). Hope to G*d we put a sell on clause into the contract of sale. I'm sure everyone at the club wanted to keep Jones this summer. It will be his choice if he goes or stay and even if he stays, this same situation will resurface next transfer window. I'm in agreement that the clause is too low; why put a ceiling on the potential transfer fee you could receive?! The use of a minimum fee release clause only seems sensible when a ridiculous amount is set. It has to be that Jones had a say in the actual inclusion and amount of the release clause.
roverandout Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 kean going in for santa cruz is the reason he should not be manager.
chaddyrovers Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 If both Samba and Jones leaves, then in all honesty, Upson on a free and Scott Dann from Brum would be brilliant bit of business imo… Larsson in on a free as well, plus we will have cash to bring in J Jones and a striker. Robinson Salgado Dann Upson Givet Larsson J Jones Nzonzi Olsson Hoilett New Striker? I would rather keep samba, sign either Collins or Bassong to partner him. We need to invest all the money we got from transfers out and buy quality players. I would like us to go for Defoe or Sturridge or Ba or Crouch for the striker position. We need to sign a left back and right back aswell plus another winger if EHD goes. we need to sign 2 strikers for sure. at the minute we have got JR and RR up front. I would like a target man and a striker with pace for the 2 strikers position we need fill
chaddyrovers Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 any good news for us nicko apart from the phil jones story?
Commondore Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Am I the only one who is slightly more angry with P.Jones himself then the owners or management? A lifelong fan decides to leave the club after only 1 season and yet its the owners who are getting the flak? Pretty sure Roque and Bentley got a very hard time for walking away. Good luck to the lad but dissapointed nevertheless. Anything above £16m would be a reasonable amount provided its reinvested. One top class striker and a decent CB replacement will do. It's not even one full season, he was injured for the most part of this campaign. Nothing is set in stone yet and I'll be following the principle of believing only half of what I hear and even less of what I see in this thread, but IF Jones leaves this summer he won't receive any well wishes from me. Rovers nurtured him, gave him his debut in the PL and gave him all the time and support in the world to settle into the team. Gratitude is due, and to me that includes at least one full season in the team.
AJW Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 someone posted a link earlier to some european bosmans , some interesting names 1 of which was Danny Koevermans , Dutch internationa1 6ft 3" 32 years old got a goalscoring record of about 1 in 2 , i know his age will be a concern to some for this guy is surely better than Roberts and Benjani
modes98 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 kean going in for santa cruz is the reason he should not be manager. When you've seen that the guy doesn't fit into the team or make a single contribution for 6months does it then make sense to go and buy him.....na! Kean's either a genius or a moron
Fraserkirky Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I would rather keep samba, sign either Collins or Bassong to partner him. I would like a target man and a striker with pace for the 2 strikers position we need fill I'd be fine with this as well. Bassong and Samba would be real nice. Any idea how much Spurs would want for Bassong?
RevidgeBlue Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I suppose its possible that he had a clause in his earlier Trust contract for less and Kean pushed it up higher, but barring that, Kean's work in January must have been some of the most idiotic in the club's history: rush to offer a new contract to Jones, paying him more so we can sell him for less, despite him already having a 5 year deal, while ignoring Junior Hoillet, who may not renew now, resulting in us losing him for less than he's worth, too. Wasn't John Williams still at the helm when Jones signed his new contract and the "clause" was allegedly inserted? It does seem a ludicrously poor bit of business to potentially lose Jones for 16m but you have to point the finger at the player on this one if he decides to leave. He's only been a first team regular for less than a full season when his injury is taken into account. I have to say if he did decide to leave I would have no sympathy at all if he ended up rotting on a "big three" bench somewhere as opposed to playing every week here.
