I went tonight, was looking forward to the the claims made on here being backed up with some sort of action, sadly I was disappointed, no surprised really.

We have Kelbo telling us:

“I will hopefully get as close to the clown as I can and give himverbals for one, and with a banner!!

We have Majibal telling us:

“I'll be there screaming for him to be removed. The same way as most will hopefully be doing, screaming for his head for most of the game”

And last but not least we have mercerman:

“I'll be there tomorrow vocally giving Kean hell and will also join any protests outside the ground either before or after the match. If one of my pals comes along, dependent upon timing of a flight into Manchester, we will be in the JW as close to the dugout as possible, as my pal is ex RU and built like the proverbial and not even the two guerrillas who escort the ref off at half time could quieten him”

Well lads you’re full of pwiss and wind, not that I ever thought any different, but any respect I had for you before tonight, and Kelbo and Majibal I had plenty, that’s gone tonight, you’ve shown your true colours, you're full of ****.

The rest of you, who didn't even bother going, but spend your lives on here slagging of the manager and the owners, you're no better and you know who you are.

Pathetic

To be honest, I reckon folk would find it a bit difficult shouting 'kean out' when 3 0 up in under 10 minutes. Even the players would have questioned supporters for that. Imagine being a player, "we're 3 0 up in under 10 minutes, what more do people expect".

It is not a case of not bothering to go. A lot of Rovers supporters live well out of the area and are not likely to travel for a night match, midweek. Just because people were not able to turn up tonight - for whatever reason - does not mean their stance towards Kean has changed.

I wasn't there and my stance is the same. KEAN OUT.

Completely agree Glen.

It doesn't solve the issue of still having Kean at the club and I worry that tonight will just paper over the cracks.

I think that's the concensus of those who went.

Apparently, Jerome Anderson was there tonight with the owners.

Have they kissed and made-up or was there another reason as Kean & Jensen's agent ?

If that is the case, then that is troubling. Is it a coincidence it is the last week of the transfer window as well.

You are a total knob - all mouth.

You've managed to contradict yourself in just 7 words there - congratulations ... it's like a Mercerman microcosm of the whole messageboard! :xmas:

It's all very well to sneer and behave smugly towards the people who said they were going to protest at tonight's game but, for one reason or another, did not... I am sure that they had every intention of actually saying something but as with all things... easier said than done.

What is important is that after the Villa game there was a sizable protest... both on here and other forums... and that this DID have an effect on the owners AND has led them to give the manager funds to (hopefully!) sign some players which hopefully will help us in the coming months. That's a good thing, right?

I wish the personal attacks would stop as everyone is coming from the same place... Nobody wants the team to do badly... Nobody wants to feel as if they have no other recourse except to call for the managers head. Let's not forget we are all in this together... it's why we're here - because we care and it's important that we feel as if our team is being led in a manner which befits Blackburn Rovers.

Otto you do realise that we survived relegation by literally the skin of our teeth last season? Jims thread was posted because a number of us could see the writing on the wall once Allardyce was sacked.

Obviously you rejoiced in the sacking and do really look like a bit of a fool having seen the last 8 months unfold. But anyway you carry on winding everyone up :tu:

Oh and i'm yet to see you discuss a football matter on this messageboard. Typically as is evident above, you only brown nose other members who usually share the same dim witted views as yourself.

looks like I touched a nerve there Jimmy. Pmt'd are we? The point went straight over your head, Wooosh

Kean is going nowhere any time soon. His smug little wave after the final whistle to Belaji or Anderson said it all for me.

Going 3-0 up SO early - almost unprecedented - meant there was no way anyone was going to shout for Kean's head. To be fair we could and should have scored more, and 6-0 against a League 1 second string side would perhaps have had people wondering if they were wrong not to wait and see. Wednesday did have the ball for long periods in the second half and scored without reply but with a PL game in 3 days it's understandable for the players not to tire themselves out needlessly.

Kean has probably bought himself a little more time with the less vocal fans. Probably one more game. Like last season though, if we stick with Kean we will have plenty of results which are neither good enough for our league table position (and fans' health) nor bad enough for large scale protests.

So it'll be more muted boos from a vocal minority and more shrugs and eyebrow raising from fans who will become more and more apathetic because nothing they can do will change anything.

Bring on the 0-0 on Saturday...

You're joking - yes?

You obviously don't like hearing it, but their views, along with many others, have been shown to be right. For anyone with any idea of what it takes to compete in the top league, it was obvious that the club was heading in the wrong direction. We nearly went down.

hey den. I'm no happier with the situation than you, theno or jim. I too think kean is out of his depth as I've said before, but I think you're missing the point in so much as both theno and jim delight in being provocative in this situation and if memory serves, jim admitted his relegation thread was intended to ruffle a few feathers.

If I remember rightly, we had played terribly against West Ham and Stoke and coming away from the ground that Boxing Day I heard a lot of 'we are going to struggle ', came on brfcs and there was a thread saying the same- considering we survived on the last day, not a bad shout.

As for last night, organised protests will never happen at Ewood- it will happen spontaneously- ie after a bad defeat.

Yup the rope's ready and the gallows been built and little jimmy's head of the possie!

Both knowledge and intelligence can be gained by everyone but wisdom can only be gained by a few. ;)

Fortunately you'll never need to bother about that otto.

I love you theno! :lol::wub:

People must have been boycotting this competition at Ewood for the last two seasons then ...

tonight - 8,607

last season (same round same date, Norwich) - 9,235

previous season (two rounds later, Peterborough 27th October) - 8,406 [after wins against Gillingham and Forest away]

There's hardly evidence of a massive downward trend is there?

there were probaBly less Rovers fans on tonight than we've seen in comparison with previous years- decent away following, but the hardcore that go to early round Carling Cup are a pretty hardy bunch.

It's the drop in PL crowds that are the worry.

Venkys have not promised us a cup win. Sorry mate they may be muppets an quiet rightly getting a kicking at the moment, they have not promised us a cup win. IMHO we will be lucky enough to stay in the EPL.

One interesting point, Jason Lowe came on and played at the back, quick on the pass and looks a decent footballer but he is not a centre back, did Ok until the ball went in the air, we were quite small at the back and that made things even smaller!!

Hard to say regarding the performance, the three early goals changed the game and Rovers may have taken their foot off the pedal for to be honest at that time the game looked to be over.

They are going to have to get Goodwillie to make a different movement with his back to goal, he takes the ball every time with his right foot and turns to the left to make an opening and after the first couple of times, even a poor Wednesday side were able to read him and render him innefective, took his goal (and the offside one) well though and if he can get more fitness and sharpness to his game he could be OK.

Still think Rochina is the best striker we have, he is more mobile and has natural movement in and around the box, can finish too!!
