Stuart Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Nicko's article: Blackburn want boss Steve Kean to sign a contract that makes him cheaper to sack If Nixon is right, that killsmy theory, yet begs the question: Are the really holding of sacking him whilst haggling over £300k?? That makes them sound even more foolish!!
Ste B Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I 'm a bit puzzled here. I assumed the Pune 9 would have made this clear to Balaji and to the Rao reps they met. Have I got this wrong? Yep, we did and also pointed out that the attention would turn from Kean to Venkys. I think others may have convinced them otherwise.
ScottishRover Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Spending that extra 300k now and sacking him could possibly save them millions in the future. Get it done Venkys
ada2020 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 If Nixon is right, that killsmy theory, yet begs the question: Are the really holding of sacking him whilst haggling over £300k?? That makes them sound even more foolish!! Doesn't it just, and this article makes the saking of Kean less likely to happen in the near future, effectively making us more likely to be relegated. How much will that cost this bunch of morons in charge. The whole situation beggars belief.
Kelbo Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I said after the game that I thought Kean's statements were now aimed at the owners not the fans. I think this confirms it and explains why he goes to India every month and why he persists in constantly referring to a 'minority'. Well the cat is out of the bag now it was clear yesterday there was more than a minority calling for Kean and Venkys to go. If we hadn't got the penalty I think the message would have been louder and longer. As for the display on the pitch at the end of the game and having now looked at the photo I think it is an act of defiance towards the fans. I would agree with all of that 100% Kendal, hopefully, Kamys information is spot on and action will be taken!!
booth Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I wish they'd sell the club. Worst owners in the football league.
The Gull Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Which numpty wrote the contract in the first place that included a pay out of 1 years salary if he's sacked. I don't blame Kean for not resigning when he's due such a large payout if they sack him. Surely when giving a contract to a novice such as Kean you should have built something in to it to allow you a way out if he's not up to the job. In regards to yesterday, I witnessed only one person not happy with the Kean Out chants, almost everybody else in my area was chanting including Abbey, who'd of thought that! 😄

That was before yesterday, things may have changed dramatically and maybe thats why Kean 'threw one' at the supporters after the game. He's a despicable little man!

Do you really need to ask that? It was negotiated between the Owners advisor and Steve Kean's Agent, must have been tough negotiating that one
AllRoverAsia Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Sack him, pay him and let's get on with our lives. Do I trust the Raos to do that? When hell freezes over. The Raos were 'spooked' by seeing Rovers fans yesterday, so what, I get spooked everytime I see their mugshots.
BangkokRover Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Spending that extra 300k now and sacking him could possibly save them millions in the future. Get it done Venkys Haggling over £300K proves once and for all these people are not rich enough to run an EPL club.

booth Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Haggling over £300K proves once and for all these people are not rich enough to run an EPL club. It does. And having him on £800k a year shows how absolutely clueless they are. The guy was that desperate for the job he'd have done it for £15k a year and a box of donuts.
ScottishRover Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Yet they have spent a small fortune on agent fees. It beggars belief

It was negotiated between the Owners advisor and Steve Kean's Agent, must have been tough negotiating that one This is what I don't understand about the PL stance on non-investigation. Surely the position of said agent must be a conflict of interests?? I guess that's the club/owner's problem.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 You are right Kamy - almost everyone was chanting Venkys out / Kean out numerous times in the match, and you could hear it was defo not a minority ! I must say, I was completely surprised and a bit disappointed with some of our own fans yesterday; I witnessed three fights in the crowd amongst our own fans as tensions were running high, not really good enough that when we are fighting amongst ourselves - it has put me off going to another away match for a while Don't agree with fights between our own fans obviously - but (and I understand why the chants started) Kean/Venky Out chants during the match were never going to help the team in what was a very important match. I heard many remonstrating with other fans - just saying "get behind the team". Though I appreciate football grounds aren't the most gentile of places - I think some fans needs a thesaurus - the language around me was unbelievable (mostly aimed at Kean and Venky's) and at times in poor taste. You expect a certain amount of swearing at football matches - but it would be nice to have some normal adjectives thrown in as well. With kids all around the area - hardly promotes a family atmosphere !
47er Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Yep, we did and also pointed out that the attention would turn from Kean to Venkys. I think others may have convinced them otherwise. Good. Its hard to see how they could be shocked then? I guess they heard what they wanted to hear.

I guess that's the club/owner's problem. Well if they are stupid enough up see why they could end up paying more than they should, it is their problem. I wish they'd feck off and take their huge headed clown with them.

Football is a very emotive sport and Kean/Venky's have been taking the ###### out of the club for a while now, what do you expect?

With kids all around the area - hardly promotes a family atmosphere ! Sorry I don't buy the 'never going to help the team' argument. We 'won' the second half 2-1 effectively with ten men. It was during this period that the chants towards the imposter and the owners were most vociferous. I take your point about the language though. I let rip with a few yesteday but apologised to the people around me. Noy something I would normally do but my frustrations got the better of me.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 One of the problems with the current lack of unity of the fans is that it has become Glen v Kean. The media haven't helped calling him 'fan's leader". As Tom pointed out with the singing, people don't like told what to do, say, think. Not sure if this kind of stubbornness is a Blackburn thing or just in general. People need to be able to come to their own conclusions at not be forced. This is why so many fans turned on Ince at the same time. Because Glen is not part of the institution, it's creating a perceived pro-club and anti-club divide - and we all know that's not the intention. We really need someone from within the club (or maybe ex-club) to join the debate on the anti-Kean side to finally convince the hand-sitters that all is not well. Regardless of this, I can't understand a fan attacking another fan, it's so depressing. Giving Kean a new contract at this stage is suicidal and a further sign that all is not well. Can any contract really be UNBREAKABLE ( to make Kean unsackable) or is the level of compensation written into his contract so stupidly high (£50m?) that they genuinely can't afford to sack him? (Pure speculation on my part before anyone gets upset). Simon Garner appears to share similar views. Club icon as well.
RoyRover Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Nicko's article: Blackburn want boss Steve Kean to sign a contract that makes him cheaper to sack I have an even better idea. Sack him now. Save time. Save yourself £300,000. Save yourself multiple millions for the future. Save the club.

IMO the premier league is a big golden boat gently flowing along, nobody wants to rock that boat in case the piece of that golden boat that falls off when it is rocked is their's . Losing a bit of cargo that does not belong on that golden boat is not a problem

Losing a bit of cargo that does not belong on that golden boat is not a problem And clubs like Rovers are not required when the boat docks at Europe Super League Heaven.
