That's it then. Glen has spoken.

I don't think you need to take anybody's word about Venkys and money. You just have to look at the way the club is being run to know that money is not exactly overflowing.

The fact that Modeste has not started a game since October, as reported in LT, suggests he might take some time to get up to speed. So much for the rubbish that Kean was spouting about having players arrive early in the window and being ready for the Premier League from day one. More Venky fairy tales.

T4E - think you are missing the point.

We are supposed to be in a brave new world when we "no longer have to sell our best players" and can "enjoy competitive budgets".

Absolute shyte, IMO - owing to gross mismanagement, I don't think we have a pot to p1ss in and it's virtually 'beg, steal or borrow' (words from an old New Seekers' song).

You mean we are in the same position as we were before the takeover with regards to finances? We've lost some key staff admittedly, but it could be a lot worse. I'd be more scared of who they would sell us to since they would likely have have zero interest in anything aside from the right price for them, especially given the relationship that has developed between the fans and the owners.

That's it then. Glen has spoken.

Is he a national hero yet? Or is it still local?

LET also running a story saying we're close..

BLACKBURN Rovers are confident of completing a loan move for Bordeaux striker Anthony Modeste by the end of the week – after deciding not to appeal against Yakubu’s red card against Fulham.

Rovers had representatives in France over the weekend and are eager to make Modeste their first signing of the January transfer window by tying up a deal for the 23-year-old ahead of Saturday’s trip to Everton.

Modeste was an unused substitute in Saturday’s home win over Valenciennes, when Rovers observers were watching on from the stand.

So Rovers representatives went to watch Modeste, yet, he didnt play but hope to sign him before this saturday.

I take it that they've witnessed him playing many times before or not.

Very stylish way of sitting on the bench though. A very important attribute for Kean signings in case you hadn't noticed the number of appearances most of his signings make in their first half season.

He's a fairly decent player, never fulfilled his potential, but he would give us something a bit different and he is certainly better than most of our options up front.

Interesting Eddie. With most of us unaware of him, what is he good at, and what is he not so good at? And do you think hes better than what Goodwillie has shown?

Thanks.
