Hi everyone,

As you may have guessed, in-accordance with how the UK law works regarding responsibility for the publishing of defamatory content, as we have received accusations it's contents are libellous, we've taken Glen's blog post down until such time as we're confident with the legal standing of it's content.

This also should act as a reminder that the content your posts on the forum should not in any way be defamatory and should you see anything you consider defamatory (or otherwise illegal), you should immediately use the Report button to bring it to our attention.

The subject isn't off-limits, but we urge extreme caution with HOW it's discussed. We've also removed the original discussion thread on the topic for the same reason.

It's sad all round this has happened and it would have been unthinkable a couple of years ago, but these are the time we live in.

Stay Safe everyone.

It's getting like America, people get criticised, seemingly legitimately, then they're on the blower to their legal team.

These clowns must have them on speed dial. Pathetic.

There is no such thing as free speech, that's it really. I can pretty much guarantee that Glenn would not have wanted to take it down and would only have done so to keep himself and Ste out of court. That's all there is to it, it wouldn't have been Glen Mullen in court it would have been this site's administrators.

Sorry, but this is ridiculous. We have people in certain positions, who can say whatever they want about us fans, but as soon as a fan says something, they run to their legal teams and threaten. I understand that the messageboard should be protected, but I can't help but feel, that its just becoming rather a very sad sad place. Well its already a sad place, but you have to wonder when all this rubbish will end.

Maybe Glen should post them on Vital and stick a link on here?

Posting a link to it could also mean legal threats / action. If Glen wanted to put it on his own website, that is his choice. He alone would be accountable.

I was told it is still on twitter, So be interesting to see if action is taken there. but that is down to whoever is making the complaint about the blog.

When media etc are saying things about Rovers fans it is hard to make a legal challenge. Until they direct the abuse etc at an indivdual or groups of fans and name them. The club can make the complaint.

Just waiting for official confirmation but it is understood berg has been relieved of his duties alongside black, brunskill and mimms.

he's loon....... it was him who saw Kamy's tweet re: Berg may walk, put 2 and 2 together, came up with 5 and sent twitter into meltdown

Pafell, I didn't mention the media. I said people in certain positions within, can say things as they feel like saying, without any consequences or threat of legal action. When those same fans, says things about those people in those positions, then its a legal matter. This to me is a real shame

The difference though is Agnew talked about "fans" then one fan, singular, spoke about Agnew. We can't collectively sue anyone as no individual is identified. You can @#/? off the entire fan base but no one could take action.

Glenn and Ste had no choice as they can't rely on Glen's assertion he can prove what he wrote is true. He may be able to prove it to his satisfaction but Admin on here couldn't and shouldn't rely on this.

Money is power, whoever has a lot of it holds most of the cards when any legal action is even hinted at

It's a shame it has to come to it having to remove stuff but fully understand and support the forums reasons for doing so

Agree, but perhaps he/her/they would better doing an article or podcast and refute any claims rather than threatening legal action (if that was to happen) after all, we all want things to be "genuinely transparent" and then perhaps we all can move on http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburn_rovers/news/9805937.Agnew__Blackburn_Rovers_must_learn_from_mistakes/

Just out of interest as I don't know the answer but would the company that owns the site be able if donations where made to take out an Insurance to go head to head or offer a level of protection to the owners with this sort of bully boy tactics should the need arise in the future?

It's not just money though Perth. If the site were threatened, it would also require a lot of time to be put into a legal battle.

It would also put a massive strain on the relationship with the FF, I'd suggest.

I think you are right - something isn't quite right here. Timing, author, content - all very strange. Staged even.

When you and Topman ever have a good word for Glen, Kean will be a great manager!

It's clear you two have an agenda, or at least, a target.

So someone could sue someone if they said someone was a waste of oxygen . :)

Only if its untrue Abbey!!!!!

Aren't you one of the posters who campaigned for new owners - anything better than the Walker Trust?

Great agenda that turned out to be.
