donnermeat Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 His voice gets right on my nerves, it's like he's got a load of phlegm stuck in the back of his throat. So much so I'm not comfortable listening to him (being Burnley's manager aside).

Alex Rover Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I heard Dyche interviewed today on Radio Lancs and in my opinion B***ley have found themselves a gem of a manager. I hope he gets a better offer from another club soon. He's actually the type of manager I thought Appleton was. I was wrong.

So much so I'm not comfortable listening to him (being Burnley's manager aside). That's as maybe - but would you dare tell him so? In other news Paul Ince has labelled us a long ball side - I'm not sure he understands what he sees on a footie pitch.
Backroom DE. Posted December 23, 2013 Backroom Posted December 23, 2013 In other news Paul Ince has labelled us a long ball side - I'm not sure he understands what he sees on a footie pitch. You're questioning a guy with such brilliant tactical nouse as:

Paul Ince is the worst manager I've seen at Rovers (and yes that includes him!). Total ineptitude. I don't understand why he's involved with the game in any capacity.
CapeTownRover Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 i dont know who is worse, Kean or Ince. lol
thenodrog Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Both Godawful managers but Keane is way more intelligent than Ince. Maybe cos Ince is financially 'comfortable' Ince just wanted the team to be successful. Keane wanted the same and to hell with the 'succesful' bit.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Ince or Kean ? What a choice to have to make !
CapeTownRover Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 disagree with Appleton being the worse. i still say Appleton is a talented young manager, but his tactics were just very weired. Berg wasnt far behind either in terms of being awful
FGS5635 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Appleton talked a good game, but ultimatley was a prat. His tactics v millwall are the daftest in the history of football
CapeTownRover Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 basically what i said. he seemed to know his stuff, but when it came down to walking the talk, he failed. if he could just have transferred that good fighting talk onto the pitch, then he would have probably have done well.
Backroom DE. Posted December 23, 2013 Backroom Posted December 23, 2013 Appleton had a PR firm behind him telling him the right things to say. Not convinced he has much of a clue at all and his tenure here certainly suggests the only style of football he knows is dull, defensive and defeatist.
West Yorks Rover Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Weds sold over 2800 tickets plus it's ' pay on the day ' Guess they may do 4000 which would be pretty good considering their results lately. Should make it a decent gate !
Mike Graham Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 2,800 is a reasonable following for Weds. Indeed it is slightly more than we have shifted for the Man City game to date!! Hopefully we will be close to 18 or 19K on Boxing Day.

Hopefully we will be close to 18 or 19K on Boxing Day. I think they'll sell plenty on the day too, easy journey from Sheffield as long as it does'nt snow. Weds fans are very loyal considering their lack of success in the last 15 years, and some shocking ownership/management, not exactly Venkyesque, but pretty bad.
Mike Graham Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 You are probably right....with a bit of luck them we should be 20K+ and a few quid in the kitty to pay for DJ's sporting interests.
Mike Graham Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 It was interesting to hear on Radio Lancs that Jordan Rhodes' Dad is the Sheffield Weds goalkeeping coach.
jim mk2 Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 It was interesting to hear on Radio Lancs that Jordan Rhodes' Dad is the Sheffield Weds goalkeeping coach. Never heard of Andy Rhodes ? As a football fan you should have done.
Mike Graham Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Never heard of Andy Rhodes ? As a football fan you should have done. Yes Jim. But I rarely check parentage.....I leave that to our 6 fingered neighbours!!
jim mk2 Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 It's been well publicised who his dad was. You need to read the papers.
Backroom Mike E Posted December 24, 2013 Backroom Posted December 24, 2013 It's been well publicised who his dad was. You need to read the papers. Most I know only found out via the brief mention in the LET. I don't keep taps on footballers kids.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted December 24, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted December 24, 2013 I knew Rhodes' dad was a footballer, I didn't kmow his biography mind.....
West Yorks Rover Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Charlton 2-1 up against Brighton now, after being 0-1 down. Would be a good result if it finished like that. 3-1 now 75 mins
