DeeCee Posted July 14 Posted July 14 This is why the 5 day game is the essence of cricket (Baz Ball excluded). 3 fantastic tests 💯 5 Quote

Gav Posted July 14 Posted July 14 West Indies are currently 18-6 against the Aussies! Starc took 15 balls to get 5 wickets, phenomenal and he goes past 400 test wickets in his career. Outstanding and worrying…. 1 Quote

Whilst Lancs have only offered 3 options for the future of the County Championship other counties have offered 5 options, including a 24 game one, essentially leaving things as they currently are. One thing that around 92% of county members across the country want but hasn’t been offered as an option is to play two Championship games in August alongside the Hundred. Edit - the 24 games should of course be 14 games. 2 Quote

Yeah but clearly something not right about that pitch looking at the scores Gav. Starc and Cummings are top bowlers without a doubt but if we can keep Wood, Stokes and Archer fit we can compete with them. 1 Quote

oldjamfan1 Posted July 14 Posted July 14 WI have a decent bowling attack but the worst batting line up I’ve ever seen in a test side. Both Josephs would get into the current England side. Quote

wilsdenrover Posted Wednesday at 19:13 Posted Wednesday at 19:13 I wonder how many fans think ‘I don’t need this bag but I’ll take it anyway’. Quote
wilsdenrover Posted yesterday at 17:38 Posted yesterday at 17:38 (edited) A good day for England. Hopefully Root will move up to at least third on the all time runs list tomorrow. Edited yesterday at 17:40 by wilsdenrover 2 Quote
Gav Posted yesterday at 19:50 Posted yesterday at 19:50 Crawley is some batsman when he doesn’t give his wicket away, some of his strike play is exquisite. Old Trafford is like an Aussie pitch, we need Crawley for the ashes, let’s hope he can find some consistency heading down under. 1 Quote

jim mk2 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Well played Joe. Hope Ricky Ponting enjoyed watching it. Apart from the ridiculous reverse sweep shots, Root's a classic Test batsman of the old school, sideways on, solid defence, plays each ball on its merits, and attacks when necessary. A joy to watch Can he keep going to overtake Tendulkar? 1 Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago What was Brook doing ? Getting stumped after 10 minutes ! He needed to play back to that ball, not going dancing down the wicket. Quote

The drift Washington got in the air was magical, superb spin bowling, a joy to watch. 1 Quote

chaddyrovers Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago some people still stuck with playing boring cricket, England want to play attacking cricket and Root is excellent at playing the reserve sweep and he has worked so hard on developing and perfecting that shot. On Brook, that's how he played and England were in the driving seat. Quote
jim mk2 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago England won the last Test playing “boring” cricket. I guess some folk would rather lose than not be “entertained”. England’s day without doubt but Brook got out to a brainless Bazball shot - he’d be dropped at club level playing like that. india look a tired team. A lead of about 250 might be enough for England not to bat again Quote
