KentExile Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago 2-1, great free kick, hope Macc hold on, they deserve this 1 Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Have the Palace players fallen out with Wharton? They're not even passing him the ball. 2 Quote

I've noticed that alot this season. They go for the difficult pass instead of a two yard pass to Wharton. Pino is my pet peeve he tries to beat too many players 2 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago brilliant stuff from macc, love a good pitch pitch invasion as well😁 2 Quote

Gav Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Still the best cup competition in the world, pity clubs these days treat it with so much disrespect. Macclesfied (National League N) 2 - Crystal Palace (FA CUP Holders) 1 4 Quote
roversfan99 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Games like that only further highlight why I find it totally bizarre that anyone either doesnt care about or actively wants us to exit the FA Cup. Wharton was just crap today, looked like he wanted to be anywhere else. Can make excuses for him but he was just not good enough. 7 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago i don`t understand the mentality of palace (or teams in the premier league when it comes to the fa cup) you are nowhere near the relegation zone,so whats the problem in applying max effort in an attempt to try win a trophy 1 Quote
wilsdenrover Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Have the holders ever been knocked out by a non league team before? Quote

According to the commentator it happened a long, long time ago. Ironically it was Palace who knocked the holders out. They beat Wolves in 1909, apparently. Edited 17 hours ago by davulsukur 2 1 Quote
roverandout Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago In ten years non league Blackburn rovers knocked out pl Burnley. That's what I'm dreading Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Palace were shite and Wharton didn't look interested today. Well done Macc an entertaining game to watch and Wharton aside always nice to see George Courtneys Palace.... or any Prem team ... lose to low opposition. On the back of Wigan doing Preston last night it's been an interesting start to Cup weekend. Hopefully Rovers Under 21's do us proud tomorrow ! 1 Quote
Guy N. Cognito Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Wasn't that the biggest FA Cup upset in terms of league places? I notice the referee played almost 8 minutes extra time (of the allotted 6) to give Palace one last chance of an equaliser. Sickening, really. Quote
roversfan99 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago There was a sub and one or two other minor delays in extra time so I dont think it was part of a conspiracy to keep Palace in the competition. 3 Quote

The referee blew his whistle as soon as Palace's last attack broke down. He clearly allowed them one last stab at an equaliser. Quote

He was a real homer today Quote
riverholmes Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) I think Wharton was too deep today. He's more effective further up the pitch. It also looked like he and other Palace players got slightly bullied physically, especially, by Dawson the Macclesfield captain, who had a great game in midfield. Not the best examples to be honest as with exception of Exeter having the biggest day out of their lives the other are big/huge fanbase clubs who fill allocations most weeks. They could often take a lot more but don't get the tickets until cup rules allow. I think a look at home fan turnouts across the weekend will tell the real story and even then there are often big ticket discounts to take into consideration. I doubt there'll be 20k at Hull City tomorrow. Quote
