It seems that BBC and ITV are in a battle to determine the kick off time for the cup final, and part of it is to do with it not clashing with Eurovision. That sums everything up. I mean I’m planning a Eurovision party not an FA Cup Final one! 1 Quote

Donnarumma has just made an outstanding save, low to his left, thunderbolt from the edge of the box. Think Flowers VE Day, but better. Donnarumma made some outstanding saves last night. He tends to do that against English opposition. Once Ruiz scored it was over. Arsenal weren't scoring 3 goals. Although if Saka's second chance went in the Parisians would have got very nervous. Arsenal were hurt by injuries. Gabriel was a big miss at both ends of the pitch. Kiwior is a big drop in talent. Havertz, although not an out and out striker, gives the team a focal point. For all the guile that Odegaard and Saka have Arteta has spent the season relying on free kicks, corners, and last night long throws to score. I read a few comments on the BBC match report (I know it's not high brow), but many were scathing of Arteta's tactics, and his managerial skills. Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted yesterday at 18:12 Posted yesterday at 18:12 spurs and man utd lucky that the three promoted clubs are terrible and got their approach to staying in the premier league completely wrong, any other season and we could have seen two massive clubs plunging into the championship🤣frankly both of them are embarrasing 1 Quote
Backroom DE. Posted yesterday at 18:25 Backroom Posted yesterday at 18:25 And yet one of them will be playing in the Champions League next season. I would say it's a farce but they got there fair and square, so you can only conclude that there is a ridiculous disparity between the PL and other European leagues, when the top two in those leagues are removed from the equation. 1 Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted yesterday at 18:53 Moderation Lead Posted yesterday at 18:53 United playing well in Europe mid week, then losing at the weekend is as much of a safe bet as there is nowadays! 1 Quote
Mattyblue Posted yesterday at 18:57 Posted yesterday at 18:57 To be fair at least you’ve won a competition to get a CL place, far more of an achievement than coming fifth… should do the same for the FA Cup winners (they won’t, of course, Palace in the Champions League over City or Chelsea - ha, like they’d ever vote that through). 1 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted yesterday at 19:11 Author Posted yesterday at 19:11 FA cup isn't a league format and that what you qualify for the champions league for. Not for cup winners, which is what the conference Europe league should be there for. Also Palace should qualify for Europe given they have reach the FA cup, it shouldn't revert back to the league if City win the FA cup Quote
Mattyblue Posted yesterday at 19:50 Posted yesterday at 19:50 Thank you for explaining that FA Cup winners don’t get a CL place. Again, you need to read what folk are actually posting. 4 1 Quote

RoverDom Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I'd prefer top 2 to get CL alongside winners of FA Cup and League Cup. 5th place getting it is just silly 2 Quote

Mattyblue Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Noticed that Red & White Kop (which is the most self-congratulatory forum you’ll ever come across) has locked itself down. Obviously struggling with the self reflection that, nope you aren’t a ‘special’ fanbase ‘rooted in fairness’ and ‘Shank’s socialism’ and whatever other delusional BS they come out with, you are just like everybody else. I agree, but if they are to insist on having it this way then the competition really needs a name change. With the new format they rolled out this year it has pretty much become the European Super League in all but name, so may as well change it to be called that now. Quote
Mattyblue Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) Can’t call it that for obvious reasons. ’Mega League’, ‘’Elite League’, ‘Cartel League’, maybe? Edited 11 hours ago by Mattyblue Quote

jim mk2 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Disappointing to see Forest lose form and fall away in the final games. They've had an excellent season and I'd dearly love them to make the CL instead of Chelsea and Villa, particularly Chelsea. Nobody likes them. Three "big" northern clubs going up is good will make the PL better balanced next season. Shame none of the London clubs are going down. There's too many in the top flight. Target for next season any of the London clubs and/or Bournemouth, Brighton for relegation - to be replaced by more north of England clubs of course 1 Quote
