Delap's throws were flat and fast so were hard to defend against. I agree that the current iterations are nowhere near his level. They tend to have no speed and have a big arc. I will also say that if the trend holds they'll get better. It looks like teams found a new data point and are trying it on the fly.

Stockport's current manager, Dave Challinor, used to have a massive throw too. I remember seeing him do it for Tranmere.

Someone from a West Ham podcast just said on Talksport that West Ham told Potter he'd be being replaced but wanted him to stay in charge for two tricky away games to give Nuno an easier start.

Unsurprisingly Potter said no and opted to leave straightaway.

potter is like russell martin,though nowhere near  as dislikeable,they both take a simple game and make it extremely complicated,so complicated their players don`t know what they are doing

as Henry Winter has said on Twitter and I agreed with him about West Ham board and owners allowing Potter to do the press conference for Monday game yesterday and facing the media like he did. Shameful from them. It been clear that Potter was getting sack this week/next week with the rumours that he would be replace

I was listening to Talksport on this week and one West Ham fan said that they had the perfect manager for them in Moyes and he brought Success yet his style of play wasn't good enough for some fans. Other fans mentioned the problems with the stadium and ticket prices.

My anger and frustration from yesterday has just receded slightly after seeing Esteve score two own goals. Both were finishes that any striker would have been happy with 😂.

United its just a complete mess there. Its been more than clear Amorim cannot turn this United team around and his tactics dont work and he doesn't have the players for it. Its clear what United's decision makers should be doing here but let's it continue cos its very entertaining for me and others

They should have gone for Thomas Frank from Brentford back in summer of 2024 instead of keeping Ten Hag after the cup win. Also can United afford another pay off after another poor appointment. 

I would go for Marco Silva myself

Apparently they're going to wait until November because the amount of compo goes significantly down. One imagines Amorim knows he's a dead man walking at this point.

Lets be honest, United panic after he won the cup and kept him, they were talking to different head coaches and they want to replace him, they even spoked to Amorim and didn't want to appoint over his formation, etc. yet a few months, their CEO pushed for him and appointed him. 'I know for a fact' - Why Manchester United and INEOS refused to hire Ruben Amorim in the summer | talkSPORT Inside the deal to appoint Ruben Amorim as Manchester United head coach - The Athletic

I think they need to give Amorim more time and more money to continue the excellent job he's doing. Hopefully he'll be there longer than Ferguson.

Didnt you say at the time that they should have backed him in the summer and kept him?

And why would a cup win in spite of a poor league campaign not keep one man in a job, but a cup in spite of a truly disastrous and embarassing league campaign keep Ange in one?

Haven't I posted the different reasons in the Ten Hag like new co owners coming in, new senior management coming in, etc.

Would I sack Amorim? I wouldn't appointed him in the first place
