My guess is that Robertson is the huge miss, amongst others. From the outside, he seemed to be a leader in the backline. It staggers me that they seem to be letting Robertson leave for Spurs. Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted January 25 Posted January 25 newcastle having a poor season, can`t understand why they don`t just ignore this profit and loss rule and cheat the rule like man city have, they can`t be short of money with who owns them Quote
roversfan99 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 PSR rules are obviously a load of shit. But they hide behind that but if you look at it, they have also snookered themselves somewhat. They wasted big money on players like Elanga and Ramsey. They also got involved in strange deals like signing a random Greek goalkeeper for a significant fee as part of the Anderson deal to Forest. I liked the Arsenal of old under Wenger but wouldn’t be sad to see this lot bottle it. Burnley with 2 really solid points in the last couple of games but results around them mean they are even further adrift. Edited January 26 by Tom 1 Quote

RevidgeBlue Posted yesterday at 14:28 Posted yesterday at 14:28 Absolute BS decision in the Man Ure v Fulham game. Cunyha tries to go past the Fulham player on the right near the by line and the junction of the pen area. Fulham player clearly plays it out for a corner, great tackle. Ref inexplicably gives a pen. Goes to VAR. To save the ref's blushes, they invented some non existent contact just outside the area and award a free kick which the Red scum scored from. Are they allowed to do that? Surely the decision should be limited to penalty or no foul whatsoever and goal kick. Talk about re-refereeing the game. VAR is absolutely ruining the game. Or the way they are implementing it. Quote

He was clearly tugging his shirt so there was a foul. He was just clever enough to let it go as they went into the box. But you’re right. It was a bad original decision by the ref where he gave the pen for the tackle, and had he not let go of the shirt when he did they would have re-reffed it with VAR to probably give a pen. Seen the replay and any holding was absolutely minimal imo, they were both battling for the ball. Point still stands though. The referee gave the penalty for the tackle. They dont have the power to stop the game and award a foul they think the referee has missed do they? Quote

No. As you say, they have tried to cover the ref by pretending he had given it for shirt pulling. In that instance, the call they have made is correct. But that’s not why he gave it. Incidentally, I think they scored from the free kick as well. Quote
