The meek acceptance makes you sick. These people have things completely the wrong way round. They effectively argue that "if 20000- home fans turned up to every game we would have a good team". In reality, if we had a good team, 20000 fans would turn up! Its the entertainment game, the club has to incentivise the fans. They have to put on something that's worth paying for. What they are doing is relying on the loyalty of fans which has built up over years without giving them the experience which attracted them in the first place. If you were 9-10 years old in 1993, and living in the Blackburn area there was only one place to be on a Saturday--- all that has been thrown away years ago.

OldEwoodBlue
Fuck off Venkys And if you have a single good word to say about them... well you are an accomplice so please accept the same fate.

Was chatting with a colleague & fellow Rovers fan yesterday reminiscing about some of our best games watching us. This club has won the Premier League, played in the Champions League & UEFA Cup, won the League Cup, 2 FA Cup Semi Finals, mixed it with and beaten all the big boys in the Premier League. My best game is beating Man Utd 4-3 at Ewood. Yet some fans mention us in the same breath as Rochdale or Bury. JDT brought the hope, the ambition, the potential back. Now we’re making do with a budget Tony Pulis with his shit baseball cap on, taking us straight down to League One. Get the cretins out! I know the omens aren’t great, but it’s too soon to write Eustace off as a failure. The task of keeping us up may well prove to beyond him, but it would be a struggle for any head coach under our circumstances. We are an absolute mess.

They are too stupid to realise it wouldn't make a jot of difference the club would still be an aimless shambles in the upper corridors. Same things would still happen all it would mean is it cost the owners less in share issues but the budgets would just be the same and still be cut. It's pure fantasy we'd be running higher wage bills and getting better players there are enough examples in this league to show that. These people saying that are plain ignorant, why aren't Sunderland/Sheff Weds/Norwich etc etc storming the league with their 20/30/40k crowds ? And what actually happened here when we did have 20k plus crowds ? That's right they created monumental losses instantly then relegated us and blew the parachute money in one go.

I also stated the omens don't look good, but it is too early to cast judgement and to be slaughtering the guy. JDT's recent results were even worse.
RevidgeBlue
STILL no word as to what happened. If we had a proper CEO he'd have been right on top of it and put out a press release long before now. The Club at operational level is an absolute joke.

We've just become a feeder club for others. The usually inadequate transfers fees are swallowed up by day to day running costs. But you're right, the Academy is doing well. tomphil
I presume the Academy is run separately with its own director and manager so Waggot probably has minimum input otherwise he'd have slashed and burned that by now. Remember not that long ago the talk Mowbray and co (him) weren't that big a fans of that system and more had their eyes on the Barnsley model of a dummed down everything under one roof cost cutting scenario ? Hence the beginning of the training ground shenanigans. Anyway as far as the court thing goes nobody will know until it turns up on companies house as a new share issue.
tomphil
Whilst on the subject does no one think the training ground sale will come back and bite us on the arse at some point ? Seeing as it was valued at probably 3 times it's real value or is that why they only appear to have actually paid half the money into the club for it ? JHRover
Interesting 'Likely to take some time' suggests this isn't quite the tick-box procedure implied previously and that the Court will need to hear evidence and determine the application. Hopefully Venkys lose. The listing of 'final hearing' also interesting. What happens for the next tranche after August?
Rogerb
Two things here we haven't heard before. The final hearing The matter is likely to take some time. Suggests it's not just about releasing the next tranche of funds.

Rogerb
Last August the directorate were looking at taking another 15 days to conclude the investigation suggests they found other stuff. No more hearings before August means no more money transfers.
TheRevAshton
We're absolutely screwed. We've sold our star boy just to keep the lights on, no chance of reinvestment... all due to being owned by dodgy, incompetent morons who couldn't give 2 shits about our Club. Ewood will be beyond toxic in light of this, that's if anyone even shows up... this will send a massive ripple through the Club and likely affect the players, relegation seems almost guaranteed.
RoversClitheroe
So effectively means we can't make transfers in summer unless we sell. Wharton and Raya money to fund the club til August. Any funds from this application can't be used on transfers. Cue Waggott praising owners and then not spending a penny. Pathetic.

rossyste
No need to worry lads, its the International break after this weekend so Gregg will be providing his much anticipated overview of the January "transfer" window ( delayed to focus our attention to onfield matters !) . No doubt it will appease anyone of a happy clappy disposition but for the rest of us provide a "strategic" overview of what our budget will look like in League 1.
