Ghost7 Posted Thursday at 22:03 Posted Thursday at 22:03 Some nice ideas but not feeling the "wear all black". That will go unnoticed and is largely the colour of winter football grounds anyway. Really like the missing 15 years graphic, also agree this needs to hit home in India somehow if at all possible, not Pune. They are mad about English football out there and probably have no idea what Venky's have done to this club. It's time to turn the heat up on the owners... 15 years we've wanted them out for, all they've done in that time is brought shame. 1 Quote
DaveyB Posted Thursday at 22:12 Posted Thursday at 22:12 (edited) https://x.com/brfcsdotcom/status/1980890538862866597 This is the best idea I’ve seen - a virtually empty Ewood for the league game, followed by a decent crowd for the Legends game would send a signal - and it would be made clear it was a protest rather than us just being accused of not bothering to turn up Edited Thursday at 22:13 by DaveyB Quote
Upside Down Posted Friday at 08:12 Posted Friday at 08:12 End of the day the only protest that will raise any awareness is one of two options 1. Total boycott - Not happening 2. Cause so much disruption that the game gets abandoned - Also not happening 1 Quote

... Posted Friday at 11:14 Posted Friday at 11:14 Damn shame it got to that point. As I said in another thread these historic teams ought to be protected and bought by owners that have proven love for the club. It's like buying a historic cricket team in India and ruining the history 1 Quote

Gav Posted Friday at 13:29 Posted Friday at 13:29 (edited) Just on Sheff Wednesday, my whatsapp group hasn't stopped beeping for the last few hours, they're all going tomorrow against Oxford, even the boycotters, which for some started a few years back. Our time will come, these rats will desert the ship at some point, we just have to be around to pick up the pieces. Edited Friday at 14:56 by Gav 5 Quote
scotchrover Posted Friday at 13:33 Posted Friday at 13:33 (edited) All this is making me wonder why we aren’t doing an official boycott. I think one big push would get them out the door. Attendances are pretty close to that level already. If those attending realised that we could move Venky’s on, I’m sure they’d stop going. For the love of God, someone please call a boycott and force our owners to go. Edited Friday at 13:35 by scotchrover 5 Quote
B16Rover Posted Friday at 13:39 Posted Friday at 13:39 Two points on Wednesday. Apparently Chansiri net worth was 500m in 2020. 1/4 of Venkys purported worth. I know they're up to their eyeballs in debt but I think that's due to the petulant way he's reacted to protests - happy to be corrected wrong. Secondly, very early days, but post administration and giving it 5 years - it'll be interesting to see who's in a better position 2 Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted Friday at 13:52 Posted Friday at 13:52 (edited) Gav...if Wednesday fans can do it why cant we? This waiting around for them to leave bollox will probably see most of us on here in our Graves ffs! Edited Friday at 15:43 by SIMON GARNERS 194 2 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted Friday at 13:54 Posted Friday at 13:54 Contrary to popular belief you don't need to be a billionaire to own and run a steady championship club. A lot of owners in this league are in the few hundred millions but they run their clubs properly either hands on or via good staff. The total these lot have spaffed here mostly straight into other pockets could sustain a club like Rovers perfectly comfortably without it all disappearing. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the cutbacks are due to the main companies finance people taking the reigns off the 4 loons due to pressure from their lenders. Unfortunately they don't have the power to sell though. 2 Quote

I know you’re not asking the question literally, but without owners that are willing to sell, we can’t do a bleeding thing about it. The Wednesday situation has come about relatively quickly, the owner has had financial trouble for around 12months and this is the final outcome. We on the other hand have been on the receiving end of this lot since 2011, apathy reigns and they keep paying the bills, stalemate. My hope is, this season has seen what we believe to be cost cutting across the club, I hope the bastards are running out of ready cash and we too will slip into administration, because nothing improves whilst those swine’s own this grand old club. VENKYS OUT – NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. 6 Quote

Too many fans who inexplicably see Venky's as good owners, and have such contempt for the club they purport to love that they genuinely think Blackburn Rovers is of no interest to anybody else. 7 Quote

Guy N. Cognito Posted Friday at 16:29 Posted Friday at 16:29 The elephant in the room is WHY do they still own us? What have they got out of this arrangement for 15 years? Some fans speculate that Rovers are so insignificant in their portfolio that it doesn't matter to them, but why would you keep a business that haemorrhages money and constantly needs servicing when you have no emotional or operational interest? As far as we're aware, they've never once entertained selling the club either. The only explanation that makes sense is that we're a handy foreign asset for "moving" money around and dodging taxes. 2 Quote

A small group dressed like that would be very effective I think. Quote
ElTwis Posted Friday at 17:55 Posted Friday at 17:55 Interesting this comes immediately after the Wednesday fans stayed away. I've seen comment that the refusal to spend £1 more than necessary in the ground or on official merchandise has pushed Chansiri into the inevitable, that feels to me like the best approach Rovers could take too - don't give the club anything more than you have to. Without the revenue streams their issues will be compounded. I know this will hurt the club short term but long term apathy will mean there is no club for the 160th anniversary. 2 Quote

If only.. Its often been pointed out that the last time we were in Prem, we averaged around 17k for night matches and 20k+ for Saturday games. I'd argue that we have a mass boycott going on right now! If we could get those current 8/10k fans that attend to join in, we may get somewhere. But its easy on a message board, but not so easy practice and we should all be grateful for the likes of Glenn and Mike who are trying to make a difference. One things that baffles me, why has nobody had a right pop at the stooges sat in JW stand? They're not hiding, they're front and centre, we should target them, within the law, but make them uncomfortable for every 90mins they attend, they’ll soon get the message and if we can force them inside to watch games thats a small win. ... Posted Friday at 18:29 Posted Friday at 18:29 (edited) Need to have banners outside to boycott a future fixture. Just so people get the message and have these outside the clubshop, outside the Riverside and outside JW stand so everyone can see. Or project it. How did Wednesday get the message out en mass?
