That's terrible news. I think years ago Gary Lineker used to refuse to practice heading in training for precisely the reasons outlined in your post.

“  We did the exact ( same ) training, heading the ball for hours on end, over and over again. A 90 minute session might be just about heading. I was a striker so my job was obviously to put the ball in the back of the net.

We would do heading practice for hours and hours with the ball fizzing in from the wings. It was just header, header, header, bang, bang, bang.

We’d it in training, sometimes for an hour and a half. When I think about it, I mean I must have headed the ball 10,000 times. I think heading should be limited in training, it has to be limited. We did it for too long, hence the fact I’ve ended up with early onset dementia at 57 “.

It’s obvious to me that constantly headed a pretty heavy football isn’t good for your health. Although you get outliers like Sir Geoff Hurst, who must have headed as many balls as Payton if not more, and is still lucid.

My best mate at the time who went on to have a long and successful career in amateur football as a centre forward and centre half has Parkinson’s. He was a great header of the ball but I suspect he’s paying for it now.

Heading was my weak point. In training and practice I’d always be sending in the crosses and avoiding heading the ball at all times. Maybe that’s why I’ve still got some marbles left.

when i played schoolboy football  training on a wednesday night was about how far you could kick it,tackling hard but fair and those horrible crosses into the box that you were supposed to head in ,thankfully being small and a full back i never had to  endure the nightmare, though having the head the ball straight from a goal kick on sunday mornings was torture, always hated heading the ball, even if you got it plumb on the forehead it still had you seeing stars

looking like Hull are considering sacking Selles despite him keeping them up.

Its a poor from Hull and when will their owner learn and stick with one for once.

Selles did the job he was bought in to do.

reports are saying Mowbray in the frame to replace Selles.

Cleverley sacked by Watford. Im sure they will get endless criticism considering the club but it said he has 5 wins in 25 so makes sense.

Did Selles improve Hull? Suppose he kept them up but if they dont think that hes shown enough to suggest they will improve then surely now is the time to make the change.

Shocking decision by Watford. Can't build a team keep sacking a head coach. They deserved all the criticism they get and I hope they go down next season

Hull, don't seem to learn when last season they should have stuck with Liam Rosenior, maybe they would have got top 6 this season.

Hull will be in the PL/Play-Offs before we are. That's all that really matters. Yes their owner is a bit of a hothead and chops and changes but he'll get it right eventually, whilst we rot away

Why do you hope they go down? I understand not agreeing with the decision but why have you taken personal offence on behalf of Cleverley?

Because Elliot said it

😂 didnt see that. Elliott tweeted the same thing a couple of minutes prior.

Bit rich from him. Wants them relegated to show "you cant run clubs like this" yet has justified at times things that we have done as a club. If you want clubs to be relegated to show the way they are run is terrible, we will be going down.

Dont get why people take such personal offence to a club they have no affiliation to sacking a manager. Maybe its so alien to see a decision made (logical or not) rather than lowering standards.

We don't sack managers. The last two have left of their own volition because of broken promises and a lack of ambition from above. The one before was treated awfully and kept in abeyance regarding his future by the people below.

We are no different in that respect than Watford because we have erratic owners and self serving governor board level.

Great offence and upset taken by another club / owner dispensing with their manager (and paying them off handsomely in doing so) to appoint someone else in their quest to advance and progress. Might work, might not, at least they are trying.

I wish some of that offence and upset would be channelled against our owners genuinely disgracing the name of the club, including but not limited to tangling it up in an Indian Court battle, investigation, dragging it through the English civil courts, taking out pay-day loans to pay bills and just the general shame and humiliation of episodes like the Duncan McGuire/Lewis O'Brien transfers which must have caused unprecedented damage to the club's reputation.

We see. 3 head coaches in 2 years. Maybe stop over reacting and trust the person who keep you up and back him with some signings

Cos they constantly sacking their head coaches and it was only 3 and half months their owner publicly back him? What change? They said Cleverley was bright young coach who could the success they want. They spent around 3.5m on transfers with sales of 30m

Back to lowering standards bollocks again.

Why don't actually back their head coach and give them at least couple of seasons in charge and build a team.

5 wins in 25? Yeah, fans of any club would be calling for his head.

Watford burn through managers but they want instant success. Not sure what giving Cleverley another 25 games will achieve if he only managed 5 wins in his last 25, he ain't turning that around.

But that doesnt answer why you have taken so much offence upon a manager and club to which you have no affiliation towards to the extent that you are wishing (or at least echoing Elliott Jackson's wishes) them to be relegated in the immediate aftermath.
