Like fees are normally done over installments in a 6 months/12 months periods with addons.

Yep, you can nit pick until the cows come home as to whether the headline fees quoted either in or out are completely accurate.

However the bottom line is that in summer we sold decent quality, and bought in lesser quality at a moderately negative net spend, and presumably a massive reduction in the wage bill.

And find ourselves struggling badly. As 99% of supporters predicted would happen in advance.

Quite surprising really.

Most fees paid over the length of 3 or 4 year contracts meaning we've actually 'spent' far less and the rest will no doubt be covered by future sales.

So the re-investment to date from the Wharton/Sammy sales etc is minimal.

John Williams was always firmly of the view your finish in the table was roughly commensurate with the size of your wage bill in comparison to everyone else.

I don't completely subscribe to that but by now our wage bill must be amongst the lowest in the Championship and that's exactly where we find ourselves.

I wouldn't be surprised if where we are right now in the division is right on where we'd be in the first team wages table.

Mostly in life or business you get more or less what you pay for.

You dont factor in quality.  

We have a large number of players mainly signed in the summer who in theory should provide that cover but are that bad that they dont.

The injuries we have in midfield wouldnt be problematic if Tavares wasnt woeful, Henriksson wasnt woeful and Baradji wasnt signed with a long term injury.

Its easier just to make excuses.

I would be spend around 10 pounds per game if it served decent food instead local businesses get that money. Rovers food options have been dire for years pre Venkys. You go to Hull and its very good offer of food on show so why cant we do the same

Played 19, 20 points, 21st place.

All relegated sides have hard luck stories. We set ourselves up for failure in the summer by jettisoning almost every player worth a damn and replacing them with cheap punts, or just not replacing them at all. The end result was entirely predictable, as many posts on here during pre-season will prove.

Heard some interesting stuff from a trusted ITK tonight on the going on down at Brockhall - it may be known to some on here so apologies if that's the case.

First team played the u21s in a behind closed doors friendly and lost 7-0....yes 7-0.

Ribeiro went over the top on one of the youngsters with a late challenge and ended up gripping the young lad even though it was he who was being a nob.

All food in the canteen is now halal and this has not gone down well.

None of the current 1st team backline are rated by any of the under 21s or the non first team coaches - especially the new recruits.
