Popular Post Wheelton Blue Posted yesterday at 06:57 Popular Post Posted yesterday at 06:57 I can picture it now... Utter carnage and chaos behind the scenes. Contracts and extension offers not accepted/rescinded External bids for players accepted. Players walking away. No new incomings. U23's expected to step up. Hitting pre-season in the opposite position to what Ismael wanted. Disaster on the pitch awaits. 13 Quote

KentExile Posted yesterday at 13:21 Posted yesterday at 13:21 (edited) Apparently Rovers are competing with Derby & PNE for Cody Drameh, with Hull willing to sell at the right price https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25187227.blackburn-register-transfer-interest-hull-city-defender/ Competition & the "right price" presumably being more than £0 surely make this unlikely Edited yesterday at 13:22 by KentExile Quote
islander200 Posted yesterday at 13:38 Posted yesterday at 13:38 If we really do have an interest in Drameh then that points towards Brittain leaving 2 Quote

Most of it is self inflicted due to our recruitment and contract policies. But we all know from experience that little of it will come fruition and we will be scraping around at the 11th hour. The fact we seemingly want to keep both Batth and Weimann yet haven't got either over the line tells us where we are on summer business. 4 Quote

I mean if Venkys are really committed to balancing the books through player sales Brittain is one of the most likely sources to even begin to do that. With Waggott getting potted I wonder of part of it was him letting probably around 26M of talent (BBD 15M, Dolan 5M, Rothwell 3M, Lenihan 3M?) leaving on a free in the last 5 years. Maybe a bit harsh as the root cause is the Raos not funding new contracts but I guess Suhail could have thrown him under the bus. Quote

Brereton and Rothwell were down to the owners not allowing bids for those players to be accepted and reinvested. 3 Quote

DutchRover Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago LT reporting Drameh interest too, worrying as to what it means about Brittain. 1 Quote
rob_of_the_rovers Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Drameh played quite a few games at left back for Hull too so would be good cover for both sides. But seems all too likely that he'd be a Brittain replacement than cover 1 Quote
DutchRover Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I suppose in a blind optimism Drameh could be back up to Brittain, as Ismael's style needs 4 healthy wing/fullbacks. He may also want to switch to 3-4-3. Quote
Upside Down Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago Does anyone seriously think we are trying to sign decent players that will improve the squad? 4 Quote

Be a downgrading summer for sure. Shipping Brittain out for a couple of million and bringing this bloke in for half the fee and cheaper wages would be right up there street. Quote

Depending what happens with Trav and Tronstad for me, if they stay and go for free next summer then I could see next season being our last being fairly competitive at this level before relegation the year after. If they go this summer and we downgrade the midfield then I think we'll be in all kinds of trouble this coming season. 2 Quote
Wheelton Blue Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago It would not surprise me one bit if other clubs tried their luck this summer with low ball offers for our better players - Travis, Tronstad, Brittain et al - and we see them moved on. 5 Quote

JHRover Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Waggott's season ticket deadlines and dates was a warning sign for me. Get the cash in early before people see what unfolds in the summer. Now that 90%+ of that cash is banked they can crack on with stripping the squad of saleable assets with minimal impact on ticket income. 5 Quote
