He's said that from day one.

The reason Chaddy etc are trying to make out that it meant by the pre season camp is because the know there's absolutely no chance of this happening.

I took it from thisΒ https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25130385.blackburns-pre-season-dates-explained-transfer-target/Β that it meant by the Spanish training camp.Β

I misinterpreted what was reported

The whole basis of Venkys' argument seeking permission from the authorities in India to send money to Rovers via their holding company is that without this money Rovers goes into administration and the tax man and wages / suppliers are unpaid.

A judge will be sympathetic to that. They will not want to be the person responsible for a business failing and all the fall out that comes with it. They can see that money is required.

Totally different story to wanting to spend non-essential sums on a few new players because we fancy signing someone. Nobody can reasonably argue that this is essential expenditure.

So those thinking that we are spending a few million this summer whilst all this is going on perhaps need to sit down and have more of a think about the financial crisis these owners have put us into due to their investigation in India. A crisis that has been running now for several years yet they've done nothing to resolve e.g. by selling/giving the club to someone who has the ability to fund it.

Any money being paid out for players will have to be found from the club's own resources - either a portion of funds brought in from sales/sponsorship/receipts, perhaps borrowing or even some crafty working with the instalments.Β

When the Venkys first went to court the reason for wanting the money sending was set out as the below:

IMG_2229.jpeg.c5e44c71aba20e66f3f1b7bc372edff4.jpeg

No mention of potential job losses, detriment to the team etc - purely β€˜we’d lose all our money and people will think we’re useless’ - I find that very telling.

Well, funnily enough (dickheads) you’re not getting your money back and people know you’re a bunch of incompetent buffoons.

In summary, fuck off Venkys.Β

What's starts?Β

The usual pattern.

You say early doors that we need x players in by pre season. You genuinely believe that each summer will be different.

You then slowly go through each of the same reasons and excuses when that doesnt happen. You highlight other teams that havent done business. You ask which players that have gone elsewhere would have actually been good signings here. You say that Premier League teams are still evaluating their players. You say we shouldnt rush and its all about the quality, and to judge at the end of the window.

How many times have you read/heard people saying i'm not renewing until they show some ambition or spend some money ?

And don't pretend you haven't for the sake of being pedantic that act has worn thin now.

If you don't think making decent signings will drive more ticket sales then you are truly lost.

In fairness to Chaddy…

That article both quotes Ismael as saying he wants 90% by the first day of pre season AND as saying the trip is later in pre-season than usual so that 90% can be on it.

Season tickets sales nothing more nothing less.

We have an absolute green novice in charge of the football now overseen by an utter penny pinching owners puppet so they think they are being clever playing the game.

Waggot was an old hand a that so it's the same script but different voices and we still have half a small remaining fanbase who can't see through it.

It's not even that he's a green novice. He's clearly quite thick too.Β

It doesn't matter who says what or when. The fact is we haven't signed a first team/squad player.

I can't help reading that summary and thinking it's quite sensible.Β

Blimey some clubs haven't appoint their managers/head coach or just sacking them in the Boro Carrick episode..

Β

Any bets that Boro appoint a new manager before we sign a new player

Biggest shit show , will be this coming season , I cannot see any other outcome .

The likes of Tronstadt , Hyam , Pickering, Cantwell and Ohashi will probablyΒ see us safe. The season after will be horrendous.

I’d say there will certainly be a percentage of rovers fans who would either renew or purchase based on Rovers making exciting signings.Β
Β

Do you disagree?

The main reason that we are always slow off the mark signing players is because of how the club is run.

Will they? Wrexham and Birmingham aren't playing around. The three relegated teams will be stronger than us.

We'll be in a serious relegation battle without a clear couple of no-hopers to prop us up.

If we don’t lose anyone under contract we will be ok. I don’t mean comfortably, it might be nervy, but I think we would have enough to stop up.

If, for example, Travis and Brittain left I think we would have major problems,

Yeah I've always thought if the 4 lads out of contract next summer Brittain, Travis, Tronstad, Hyam stick around then we'll be fairly competitive at this level next season i think.

Couple of them leave though and replaced with inexperienced players then I think we could slide into huge trouble.

That's probably why they'll want as many mins as possible into as many as possible this coming season because we won't have much left the season after.Β  Due to lack of continual steady investment going back to when the transfer door slammed on Mowbray and water treading became the aim we will end up needing serious money spent in all depts, defence/mid/fwds.

It's all bound to catch up and come on top at some point it has with every other club that has gone down the same avenue, unless Rudy & Ismael turn out to be miracle workers.
