Why are people saying Forshaw signing means Travis or Tronstad leaving? Do we not remember they were all in the same squad a month or so ago????

If we're paying a fee up to 2 million, he's not being brought in to sit on the bench is he?

Cos we brought Forshaw backΒ andΒ added a relatively expensive (for us) midfielder.Β
Β

I was scathing about Forshaw resigning but if we keep Tron, Trav and add Tav then I’ll be ok with midfield in general. But history tells us that’s not how we operate.

Hopefully can prove to be a good signing and we can keep Tronstad and Travis and have some proper competition in there. Good to get him in early and hopefully more follow soon.

Surprised that hes only on a 3 year deal with no option. Perhaps a small indication that the fee is indeed smaller than advertised?

LT saying a one year option is in the contract

With all due respect... I'm not sure how you can say that unless you've watched him play numerous times.Β

Maybe it's just a positive take instead of everyone spinning a negative thought on everything.Β

I wonder if there is an option even though they’ve not said so.

My reasoning - the Rover’s site says:

1. An initial three years

2 Until at least 2028.

looks a big lad, hopefully moreΒ  stephen nzonzi and less herold goulonπŸ™‚

no idea of the fee or if he`s any good, thats the problem with the ***** running the club, they are duplicitius and sly, clubs run in a normal way try to bring in established players they have scouted,we obviously just watch a showreel and answer the phone to agents with clients

Tavares family moved to Leicester when he was less than one year old, so he’ll probably come across as more English than Portuguese.

Article here.

They have no clue 🀣 Forshaw only played here for 6 months and they have him down as a defender. Must be a new starter

People comparing him to Nzonzi is wide of the mark.

He's not particularly strong on the ball, and not much of a tackler.

Much more a flairy player and good passer of the ball.

If not Nzonzi, how about Chris Samba? πŸ˜‚

Welcome to Rovers, SidneiΒ

Looking forward to seeing what type of midfielder and why we paid the fee we have.Β

2 signings done now and lets hope for a couple more before the Stanley game.Β

We're now carrying 7 centre mids

Travis

TronstadΒ

MontgomeryΒ

Buckley

Forshaw

Garrett

TavaresΒ

Fair to say that something has to give. Obviously it won't be Tavares, Forshaw or Montgomery.

Travis and Tronstad are the only 2 with any reasonable value.

I'd be surprised if we're not trying to shift Garrett and Buckley but its finding someone to take them.

There's a clear shift in terms of player profile that we're looking for now which I see as a positive. Priority now has to be to tie Brittain down beyond the end of next season as he fits that profile. Both De Neve and Tavares are signings that are expected to start week in week out; there's no chance they would have accepted a move otherwise. Hopefully they can adjust to the intensity and physicality of the Championship quickly.Β

I expect at least one of Travis and Tronstad to leave now, my bet is that Travis will sign for another club within a week or so given rumoured interest from the likes of Wrexham and Birmingham.Β

Did Nicko actually break a true story with this signing? 🀣🀣

It was actually broke by a poster on twitter, there's 2 which broke the news, shortly after one n other - One which has recently disappeared.

Either way the Nixon haters won't accept it, not like he's ever broke a story for us before...Never happened, the lad talks rubbish.....πŸ™„

There was an account on X Rovers Duff who broke it. Broke a few stories last season and came back on and Dropped the Portuguese flag then an hour later dropped the name before Nixon. Then today he’s deleted his account. Very odd

Like a young Steven Gerrard, Β or Robbie Cotton.Β

Admittedly looks rather comfortable on the ball think we might have an actual decent signing of course time will tell. Thus is the championshipΒ
