Anyone else more concerned that we probably wont replace the position, rather the thought of the club letting Dolan walk for free? I have a bad memory so can anyone say if there had been bids for him in the last 2 or 3 years?

If he accepted the offer, the discussion after the first game would just pivot back to people getting irate at dolan running into dead ends down the flanks again. We wouldn't shift him for money, because there are probably better players available for those willing to pay.

Completely agree, but of all the scenario's that could happen, this one has zero chance.

Brittains replacement is already here, and there isn't a chance on earth that we could get Gassama under this regime.

Gassama agreed terms with Rangers already no? Sheff Wed haven't sanctioned it because they want more money suddenlyΒ

Funny how these "club are keen to sort a new contract for Hyam" stories have suddenly appeared following the unwelcome news that Brittain is off.

Interestingly, why weren't the club so keen to negotiate a new contract with Hyam when we activated his 1 year option? Why not just sit down and thrash out a new deal at that point?

Ismael said last season he knew everything that happened before him and he wanted this job. Time people gave up this notion he came into this job without knowing what he was walking in when he accepted the job

He might have thought he knew but he didn’t know Chaddy - because he couldn’t know.

No manager under Venkys ownership has understood them.

It's such ab obvious smokescreen to try and deflect from the failure with Brittain.

I for one do not see a scenario where we sign a replacement for Brittain, we already have him in Alebiosu, who while I thin might be decent is a downgrade.

He has, but like you say it has stalled.

No way he ends up here.

Sell Britain for 3 million and put that towards bringing Drameh in from Hull and Gassama for Sheffield Wednesday. Two good young championship level players with high sell on it’s too simpleΒ

Ah the Brentford or even B###'##y model !

Yes it is quite straight forwards to any well structured and ambitious club but sadly the opposite applies here it's now sell to pay the bills. Then use the loose change from that to fill out the squad and expect the latest head coach to perform a few miracles with them.

They could easily do that if they employed competent, driven people to run the club.

Instead they employ their lackey and bleed tens of millions a year (allegedly).

I've no idea how they're rich - the poultry business must be a piece of piss if they run their other businesses this poorly.

Do you think they chose us because their logo is blue and white?Β

Given how shallow they came across when they first turned up that wouldn't be the least bit surprising.

Lost Batth who was the difference maker between all our centre half’s and so far not replaced. Brittain is going, Dolan has gone. That’s our right side of play completely gone, The side where most of our attacking threat has come from. Players need time to integrate and there is inexperienced holes all over the pitch. How can you not see what’s unfolding here.Β

I am fully aware of all that but we still lots of experienced players here and we will bring another right side attacker who will cut in with the right back provide the width that side.

I would sign another right back like Drameh and move Montgomery to midfielder to be box to box midfielderΒ

Yes it's where Venky's always recruit our gaffers from haven't you noticed yet ?

Would you like to tell us the last time Blackburn Rovers sourced a well performing manager from another club ?

Even Derby managed to do that AND pay compensation.

Its where are CEO or/and DoF recruit from. It's been along time. Probably from Hughes from Wales. Ince flopped here after his move from MK Dons. King Kenny, Hodgson, Allardyce, Berg, Lambert, Mowbray, JDT, Eustace and Ismael Were all unemployed when they joined us.Β

So after Eustace who would you gone for? Employed head coach and who please?Β

It's obvious he isn't impressed.

IMO, his body language and demeanour indicate he's already p1ssed-off.

I expect more frank views from him as the days unfold.

Not released by the bookies yet but unless something remarkable and unexpected happens at Ewood soon I'll be piling in!

Correct. We won't be bringing in anyone else to play RB.Β

I don't see how we even could do, the budget is set, none of the money received for CB will be reinvested. We haven't budgeted for a new first choice RB.

Suspect, Alebiosu, Duru and Mongomery will be our right backs for the season. Carter at a push to play there if needed/injuries etc. allow for it.

I'm a big fan of Callum brittain and think he was one of our better players last season. Is he as good as some people would have you believe and irreplaceable? Probably not. He had a great season but is suspect to injuries and will be 28 next season. We can't begrudge him a move and probably a last chance at a big contract on more money than we could offer. He's decent especially for this level but isn't going to have the same effect I think Travis or tronstad would have if they went. And if he's refused to play bollocks to him, if they want him get the fee we want and let him go.Β

Dolan always had it in mind to leave even 2 years ago.

This helpless narrative is exactly what the club will be wanting spread. I suspect it was a case of the offer not befitting what he felt a player with a number of years of Championship experience should be getting. Im not having that he decided unconditionally to run down a deal with 2 years left on the tiny contract he would have signed not longer after joining.

He was definitely one of our better players last season and I think a lot of fans had confidence seeing him on the team sheet especially when he had the period of injury but you are right, I wouldn't call him irreplaceable; the issue is, we don't see him being replaced effectively should he leave and the chances of that happening are high.

A lot of members within the forum are jokingly stating "we already have his replacement" and that is probably accurate... The club will likely spin this now and you'll see a lot more of Albieosu on the Social Media channels, not saying the lad isn't decent; I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion... But being honest... Haha.

Seems very plausible to meΒ

Broughton who was clearly best ant contracts in his role couldn’t even get a response from Dolan in the summer of 23Β

then he found a new agent believe it to be the same one as Diaz who has likely been filling his head about potentials offers etc

of all that’s messed up at our club this scenario we’re speaking about now I could easily see being the case and I put a lot of ot down to agent as opposed the player himselfΒ

Let's say the offer from Broughton was to double his pay to Β£6k.

He's turned that down holding out for Β£10k+ - an offer which wasn't coming.

He's left money on the table backing himself to get a better contract elsewhere.Β

Valerian asked for 90% of all signings before pre seasons.

He's about to lose the top 90% of his salary bill when Travis, Tronstad and Brittain leave

Maybe that's was suhail thought he meant, tragicΒ

You made a good point that VI rightly wanted stuff sorting early.

But this is daft - if those three are 90% of his wage bill, no wonder we’re screwed, it would put all three of them on around 6m a season πŸ˜‚Β

So, out of players we have signed/been strongly linked to over the course of the window so far (not sure if I have missed any): -Β

  • Steve Kapaudi - No dealΒ
  • Marwan Al-Sahafi - No deal
  • Ryan Alebiosu - Deal
  • Sidnei Tavares - Deal
  • Dion De Neve - Deal
  • Moussa Baradji - No deal
  • Ethan Pye - No deal
  • Cody Drameh - No deal
  • Sean McLoughlin (I am regurgitating an old name here, I can't remember the name of who it wasΒ but sure it was another Hull player)Β - No deal

Prior to pre season starting, we'd reached 33% so already failed that expectation to Val 🀣

Wrong - check my postings.Β  On match day, usually bet on a single outcome and additionally throw in a 'fun bet' eg correct score, goals over etc.

You've left out Mikael Nade which was again ridiculous wishful thinking from Rovers.
