Lads a liability, we need another CB that's for sure.Β

Honestly it depends how much they're willing to risk on Wharton.Β

Hyam, Wharton, McLoughlin, Carter - with (what looks like 3) Academy players backing them up is fine IF you think Wharton can hold up.

As Ismael has repeatedly mentioned that Wharton has only played 4 weeks of football in a year and Carter picks up multiple injuries every season I suspect they're going to look for another CB.Β

Angus Gunn also on the list. Wouldn’t be the worst shout if Pears leaves as a back up keeper.Β

Sadly it seems Pears is injured rather than on his way out.Β

You’re the touchy one. β€œOooh someone criticised a player new player by spouting facts.”.

Context on what? I checked how many games he started on his Wiki page and that was it. I didn’t realise from there thatΒ he actually wasn’t first choice centre back last season either.

Love that you added ooooh to it 🀣🀣🀣🀣

Let's just rely on our medical team.

Β Very Β impressed with Tyjon in that 10 position. For a young lad shown intelligence to fake and half turn an experienced midfield of Everton. Not once but twice. Excited if we get to see him if he agrees a pro deal. Another CB and box to box midfielder is needed for midweek games and a winger to challenge Hedges. If there is enough in the pot like someone posted above, a player who can get in behind. It’s not looking bleak if players can stay fit or if no one else leaves. But we need more quality on the benchΒ

With no further first team players leaving we need right midfielder centre midfielder and cb

if brittain goes another rb might need looked at (they might wait and revisit in Jan)

can’t lose Travis or tronstad at this stage if we lose one we will need 2 more in the middleΒ

right winger is probably top priority hedges does all the dirty work but we need betterΒ

we could likely do with another striker but I’d say that wouldn’t b top of the list but would be welcomeΒ

Some good players there for league 1 and 2 clubs.Β

Having watched the game today the two glaring problems for me are starting RW and backup CM (assuming Tavares is actually any good).

We can probably quite happily alternate DeNeves and Kargbo on the left (with Leonard / Ohashi et al rotating in there as the season goes on). On the right though you simply can't go into the season with Hedges as your starter - he offers nothing going forward (but yes I'll concede he works hard to protect his FB).Β

At CM, especially playing this system, you're going to run into the same problem we had at around December last year - we're going to run Tronstad and Travis into the ground. We need two good backups - let's say Tavares is one and Forshaw / Montgomery (I doubt it to be honest) rotate as the 5th option. You need another good player in there who can start midweek without a second thought from the manager - whether that lad from the Swiss league is it I don't know.Β

Buckley needs to be shipped out.Β

Bonus points if you can also snag a striker who can run in behind.Β

I agree Buckley need to move on and find a club he can play regular at.Β

Hedges well today and he suits how Ismael wants his right side attacking player to play. We need to find similar who suits that role. Watching today's game, I was thinking who we could sign who could play a similar type of role and I thought of Luton player Tahith Chong, whether we can afford him, I don't honestly know but he has that quality we need

I want a RW that scares the crap out of the LB, not another defensive winger.Β

You're on easy street when Hedges lines up across from you.Β

I’d prefer a more attacking type but he does offer balance with Brittain (not likely he stays) the way Val plays so a good option to have particularly away from homeΒ

but I agree I think right winger is a priority signing nowΒ

I want a right sided attacking player suits that's suits how we play.Β  Hedges kept drifting inside and Brittain provided the width mainly from the right side. That's what Ismael wantsΒ

As has been said previously, we go to a back 3 when attacking with Brittain bombing on playing more as a winger. The ex-Leicester lad is also very attacking RB so the tactic is clear. Β
Β

Hedges is ideal to play RM cos he is good defensively and covers the RB.

It’s also why Carter is so important cos he’s quick and covers the vacated Β RB area well when playing RCB.

That’s ok as long as we have somebody who is as capable an attacking player as Brittain. What happens when he leaves ?

If we are chasing Luton players McGuiness , Clark and Adebajo would top my list.

Adebajo is out until Christmas.

He probably also wants his right winger to offer some semblance of attacking threat.

Luton fans would be queueing up to drive Chong here. A Hedges-esque season but you seem to know exactly what Ismael wants.

Most probably an update on Brittain.Β

Boro upping their bid no doubtΒ

Carter's going to end up like Phil Jones, minus the premier league. Mad to think he's been retired a year now and he's only 33, seems a life time since he was playing.

They need to bring in players to replace the goals of Dolan and Wiemann to a squad that was already short of them. They need at least 2 players capable of hitting double figures. Plus CB, CM and that's before likely outgoings.Β

Since the end of the season they're down 4 forwards - the above + Woodrow & Dennis. They've brought in DeNeve.

Regardless the impact of the 2 loan forwards, they were bodies in the squad and would have been expected to contribute more.Β

Like any good manager he's adapting to the players that he's got. Ribeiro and Pickering are quite slow, but steady at LB.Β

If you gave him aΒ Rak-Sakyi on the right wing, for example, he'd tweak the tactics to get the most out of him.

Ex-Arsenal btw - the ex-Leicester lad is a CM (apparently - I've never seen him play).Β

I think it's a stretch to say we're down Woodrow and Dennis. They contributed the square root of fuck all - which admittedly was part of the problem.Β

'Derby has joined the bidding, but Boro remain interested. Rovers hold hope of keeping him'.

All agent talk, non-committal.

Aye.
