In terms of RB downgrade it's not quite he who shall not be named freezing out Michel Salgado for Bradley Orr, but I hope this new lad is at least solid (and we buy someone with the money).

Onwards and downwards...

It won't take a great deal to be as good an actual defender as Brittain imo but we've lost a great attacking threat and very good all round footballer....another.

So now it's all about how Ismael makes best use of what he has i don't want to see another Mowbray effort trying to turn average full backs with no pace into flying wingbacks and getting targeted and caught out way too often.

nobody on the board can work that out, they don`t take any notice of the coaching staff thats clear,i can`t believe ismael wanted to sell brittain and get someone in who`s not as good

He didn't want to sell him, he said they offered him a deal but he wouldn't sign it and wanted to go.Β

Regarding Miller, I'll have to watch him a few times at least before making a judgement.Β

I agree with that. However, our next rumoured incoming is Swedish, and we've had far less success with players from that part of the world.

Call me old fashioned, I've waited for Adam Armstrong's direct replacement for a long time!

Who is John Percy?

Would you be content with an 18 year old goalkeeper with no experience being the immediate back up? One injury and you are throwing him in and its a huge risk.

We HAVE to sign another keeper if Pears goes.

Michalski is very highly rated and has played some England games for their younger age groups. So I'm happy to have second choice but if Pears does go then we need another keeper. Clearly Michalski has impressed Ismael and the staff for him being ahead of Pears

Why an undisclosed fee and what is it likely to have been?

Every club does it.Β

Happy with Lewis Miller … Apart from Grella & his injuries we never go wrong with an Aussie.. Like my defenders and especially full backs to be strong & skillfull & hes both…. Ismael has decided that he’s going to do it his way with these type of players …..

That's good to hear. I've never seen play but I'm happy how we had Brittain's replacement in the building and agreed before Brittain left. After listening to his interview he seems very focus and driven. Looking forward to seeing him play

I would've go that far. Not saying the Swedish players we've had have all been terrible. But if I was to name a 50 strong squad of my all time favourite players, I very much doubt there'd be a swede anywhere near it.

I suspect Michalski might be in the Tyjon boat of needing to integrate them into the first team now to maximise value and persuade them to resign.Β

Could be difference between the 1 mil Arsenal are supposedly offering and a few million in a couple of years if we can get them to sign without an Ash Phillips clause.

Its all well and good having an attacking player given cameos.

But having an 18 year old untested 2nd choice keeper is a different story. Its a risk we cant afford to take. Im sure he is doing well in training but if he becomes 2nd choice, you cant convince me that the decision would be anything but financial.

Michalski signed a contract in January, although as he has now turned 18, he can now sign a longer one

* Him signing a contract in January was a strange one, as he turned 18 in March, so could have then signed a much longer deal

Martin Olsson and Patrik Andersson!

Arguably, Patrik Andersson would probably be the best we've had, based purely on what he achieved after his spell with us.Β

If we are talking time at other clubs it would be Dahlin, surely?

it was far to late,if they`de bothered to offer him a new deal last season i think he`d still be here, but as we`ve debated, venkys don`t do contracts, they just sell everyone who is worth a fee, though at least they seem to have realised that letting players walk away for nothing is extremely stupid

Yeah , at least they're halfway there. Ismael said it was emotional leading up to Britain leaving, there's no doubt he wanted to keep him.Β

well regarded by hibs fans,he`s big lad who i don`t think you`ll see flying down the wing, must be more defensive minded than brittain, got a huge long throw on him apparently which might be part of vals planπŸ™‚

Or perhaps he is highly rated and Ismael wants to develop that talent cos he that highly rated.Β

I did say arguablyπŸ˜‚. I think Andersson won champions league with Bayern and the bundesliga.Β  Dahlin got to world cup semis with Sweden. Personally I'd say Andersson had the better career of the two, but neither did it in a Rovers shirt.

Not sure about that

I think he is a knock it past them type with an erratic delivery rather than a dribbler with a great cross though
