Just a bit, last Friday it was all doom and gloom.

Rudy and Suhail were the devils' incarnate.

One really good win and one promising looking signing on the right wing later and all of a sudden Travis was always crap and this new strategy might actually be the way to go etc. etc. And the plastic snake manufacturers will no doubt have a beano in November.

I mean, we dont even know if Travis's replacement, Baradji, is fit , or out for a lengthy period and if the latter, how long for.

The fickleness of the football fan. It works both ways.

Fickle? You're not kidding, he's gone from captain of the rubber dinghy men to irreplaceable.

It’s interesting that even after Morsy left in the summer Ipswich didn’t make a move for Travis. You would have thought he may have been on their radar if he was rated during the loan spell there.

Ipswich didnt really see him play though, no slight on him, it seemingly was an opportunistic temporary deal to bolster the squad but Morsy and Luongo at the time were outstanding.

Plus they are about to sign their second midfielder of the summer for £10m. They are fishing above that.

As @MarkBRFC mentioned, it was part of the plan. Gestede said one of the summer priorities was getting someone to compete with Ohashi and Gueye. Then it dropped off.

Have you listen to Elliott Jackson's podcast on this?

A lot of pressure on Baradji actually being decent.

I'd start Trav over Taveres any day, so big shoes for the new guy to fill. (if he's even fit to play)

On Elliott Jackson podcast, he said Ismael and Gestede were big fans on Baradji and even after medical problems they want him.

Some of what I have read makes it seem like the "family" club is being totally destroyed to be more like boot camp? There's good and bad in that but reading the names Garner, Faz, Sir Rog makes me feel perhaps more bad than good

They can want him all they like.

He's only a loan.

Does that mean he'll be training by himself?

I'll get my coat.

Think quite a few are getting carried away after our win on Saturday against an abysmal Hull team.

This transfer window had been nothing but a downgrade replacing experienced championship pros with foreign gambles on low wages/low fees.

Having said that the signings of Morishita and Baradji have stepped up the quality of incomings all of a sudden so perhaps the message has landed at the club somehow.

If we can bring in one or two experienced or similar stature strikers then things would be looking a lot more promising otherwise I am still expecting a relegation scrap of a season.

No one knows the option?

If they really thought he was such a good player - theyd have made it a permanent transfer.

The option is to buy

of all things wrong this was one of the most sensible things done given the injury. If he performs and stays fit and meets their obvious high expectations for him then great we will take the option and sign him. If he doesn’t hit the heights or can’t stay fit then we won’t

I don’t get that argument at all this early in the season tbh an abysmal hull? Based on what in their opening two games?

Based on that I watched the game and they looked a league two side. We could have scored 10.

So, let me get this straight.

It's now the fault of Brittain, Dolan, Travis and the former player liaison officer for being bitter, greedy, or whatever else and not those in charge who've been clueless since pretty much when they arrived, have a plan?

This a parallel universe?

Honestly baffling, our fan base are so fickle it's laughable and sad.

You're presuming there. 3 games into the season isn't enough of a sample size to decide if who has been brought in are downgrades.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not naive enough to think cutting expenditure isn't a factor in player turnover either.

Let's be honest though, how many players can you think of over the years have left and improved? Szmodics, Lennihan, Diaz, Armstrong, Rhodes, Gestede there's many others I've probably forgotten... All played their best football for us, then left and fallen off big time.

Brittain and Travis won't play any better than they have for us. They move on, we move on. At least we move on with younger players with more potential.

As can happen with performances sometimes but the were unbeaten had went to free scoring and promotion challenging Coventry and got a great draw away from home before scoring 4 themselves in their first home opener

could they be awful down the line quite possibly but this early on downplaying a victory is weird

I’d exclude Dolan from that list he was never signing on here

Maybe stupidly but I'm fairly optimistic haha I know we've lost a lot of experience and ideally you'd spread that over 2/3 windows but the club won't lose players on a free anymore so if nothing else that is progress. I think it's far too early to judge any of the new signings individually.

Id say the west brom game we deserved at least a point. Bradford was abysmal. Birmingham we played well, got caught with a sucker punch of a penalty. Usually we would then fold but instead were on the front foot and got caught on the break. It happens but I'd say thats progress. Saturday we really saw the potential of this squad. I don't care how good or bad Hull played. This is the championship the most unpredictable league in the world. We played as good as we ever did under jdt or Eustace.

Id say Travis was the last remaining remnant of the mowbray era. A team that had promised a lot at times but never delivered. A team that never even made the play offs. Stagnent and just rinsing and repeating season after season. We can now spend the season concentrating on results instead of who's going to leave in the summer. Will they sign? Won't they sign? Everyone who wanted to leave has done. So good or bad these new players will be different, hopefully we can go on and play like Saturday because if nothing else it was exciting and entertaining. I definitely believe there are at least three worse teams than us and in this league everyone not battling relegation should have their sights on trying to make the play offs.

It is possible for people on both sides to be wrong.

I'm certainly not defending the club and have strong opinions on the culture and people in senior leadership positions, but I also believe that certain players and (former) staff may be taking advantage of that situation.

There were clearly people within the club and the team who were happy to sow seeds of discontent. They're not exactly hiding it. Regardless of what else is going on, that isn't good for the club.

Not only that, when it comes to highly paid footballers, that's something that I just can't abide by.

Look at how poorly the Sheffield Wednesday staff and players have been treated over the last few months. It's on a different level to even our fiascos, but you still had players rallying around, showing commitment to the club, and focusing on improving the situation.

I can understand why players want to leave, and do. I can understand why staff feel mistreated. But you should have enough respect for this club not to be openly mocking the club in public. That's all I ask. It's not asking a lot.

As I've said previously, what they're doing is foolish. It makes it seem like those in the leadership positions may have been right about them.

So, let's pretend this isn't football.

You're being treated badly at work, you are a popular member of staff, made redundant and then (allegedly) replaced by someone close to a member of senior management.

Not think they've a right to have their say?

Or even, people not being paid what counterparts doing the same job at other firms are, seek parity with their peers, they get said parity only to be villainised.

Football is a job to these guys.

Is it me or do I detect a swing towards RG's and VI's  management strategy?

I can only speak for myself.

As others have said maybe the time is ripe for a new approach. I'm not naive and can see this is intrinsically linked to reducing the wage bill but irrespective of that I'm liking some of the the signings and the energy they give off.

The performance against Hull was really promising. More performances like that and we'll win more than we lose. Some have countered by saying Hull were poor, maybe so, but you can only beat what's in front of you.

It's ultimately all about results and RG and VI will live or die by theirs. It's nothing to do with a 'swing' towards them, not from my perspective anyway. This season could be chicken shit or chicken salad, let's see how we go.

Finally, would I still like new owners? Absolutely!
