roversfan99 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I mean, I dont get why whether a young striker who has been continiously injured for years and who hasnt even been under first consideration is loaned out or not, affects whether we should sign someone to improve the first team. But there you go. Quote

BRFC. Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Always seemed Baradji would be the Trav replacement, is Browne a Tronstad replacement? Not sure but this would actually be a very good signing + has plenty of champ experience Quote

But there you go. We loaned out Travis and Buckley a few years ago so we could bring in new players. The budget really is that tight under these billionaire owners. 2 Quote
philipl Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Not taking that much notice but I thought I saw Ismael quoted on Wednesday as saying two more signings was the objective. We are reaching the point where PL clubs finalise their squads and decide which players they are loaning out. Quote
Fraserkirky Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Browne on loan, I think would be an astute signing. Spend the money on a striker. Could see Ellie Youan from Hibs in a panic, last minute signing Quote
islander200 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Surely Browne will be wanting more money than we will be offering and would he come here after all those years at Preston Other Championship clubs will be in for him and I'd say Sunderland would be preferring to move him out permanently rather than loaning him.I don't see that one happening would be a good signing though Quote
Paul Mani Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Here’s my take…we’re probably now having lots of conversations with lots of agents and clubs as the demand rises. Any that are reported other than LT, or from the actual source (Think Elliot but in the source country / region) are likely agents or clubs trying to drum up interest. I’m not saying we won’t have had a conversation about Browne, he may have been offered to us but it’s more likely he wants to come back to the North west and his agent is using Nicko apply some pressure on his former employers… Rovers, as we have seen will be keeping their cards VERY close to their chest because they know they can’t get into a Willy wagging contest with anyone on fees or wages! I’m expecting replacements in the squad for all leavers. I think those will be Pears, and Leonard. So, that’s a new Keeper, Striker and Midfielder (for Buckley). In the event that Hyam is sold, I think we may ‘stick’ until January and work with Carter, Miller, McLoughlin and Wharton. Interesting few days ahead! Edited 2 hours ago by Paul Mani 1 Quote

Ossydave Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The Browne link just seems like Nixon being mischievous. He's not as daft as he looks, he knows that would wind Preston fans up so he's thrown the grenade and ran. It gets people talking, it makes him relevant..... Quote
BankEnd Rover Posted 47 minutes ago Posted 47 minutes ago Alan Browne will not be coming here, don't be silly. Quote

What I was tryng to suggest is that the trinity are on to a good thing and can spin it either way. So, if we do well under the new model, then cost reduction justified. If we don't, then they have ready made excuses. I'm beginning to see JBiz's point (on another thread) re the conundrum of the best way to get rid of the Venkys. Quote
MarkBRFC Posted 7 minutes ago Posted 7 minutes ago Soumano isn't happening at £5m, not sure why he's desperately trying to push that it might. He was like this with Kapaudi, even carrying on for a good week after we had signed McLoughlin when it was clear he was the alternative. Didn't have a clue with Morishita, was still trying to push Afolayan was an option yesterday. As for Browne, they aren't signing a 30 year old for any kind of cash, and Sunderland will no doubt want ris of him permanently with who they have bought in. Quote
