Wow, I really thought he'd played 2 or 3 times that much. Maybe we have judged him a bit too quickly, given he actually looked fairly decent in his first game or two. Older players have been crap for far longer than that before coming good.

Alebiosu - good. Downgrade on Brittain and csn be clumsy but a Championship standard player and a good pick up

De Neve - crap

Tavares - cant even get on a bench that has 2 left backs, Forshaw and Montgomery on it

McLoughlin - pretty poor. Can see why he never nailed down a central role at Hull

Henriksson - crap

Baradji - totally pointless

Gudjohnsen - crap

Miroshita - fallen out of favour

Miller - pretty poor and certainly not a centre back

What was it, £2m we spent on Taveres and he can't even make the match day squad? In our position that is appalling financial mismanagement. If he's injured then OK, but as of two weeks ago Ismael said it was not injury related.

That fee was 100% made up to make it seem like we were investing above 500k on individual players. He wasn't even a starter at Moreirense. I suspect the only player we paid more than 500k upfront for this summer was Morishita.

This is largely a team of 500k players from lesser leagues and unsurprisingly it's incapable of winning any Championship fixtures.

If there was anyone in charge they'd have removed Gestede a long time ago and fired Ismael without hesitation after tonight.

Yeah but most of them are getting Championship mins so their value is increasing ready for the agents to move some on in summer and bring in more lightweight crap.

That's the agenda here.

Can't imagine you'd be able to give most of them away the way they're performing apart from Alebiosu.

Almost certainly true, but now it just looks worse for them as if they did inflate the number to make it look like we were spending, they now look more incompetent for supposedly wasting more money than we actually did. It'd be funny if the situation wasn't so dire.

Foreign markets are odd though especially when it comes to players having mins in one of the toughest leagues around outside the elite world divisions.

Look how quick Broughton moved on the rubbish he signed and got some money back in as well.

Yeah, they've shot themselves in the foot. 

Which is good though, as there isn't a way out for them. Either they inflated the price and haven't actually spent good money on anyone or they've spluffed £2m on a player who can't even get into the worst squad in the league.

Gestede seemingly has put everything into bringing in the right type of player “profile” - and anyone desperate enough to join the “project” (while clearing out anyone with Championship experience). I can’t see him sacking VI; that would be too much for the arrogant twat.

Well, we knew the arrogant twat was sending the club into the season with a squad not up to standard of Championship  football..

Elliot made a great point on his post match podcast last night.

Morishita was hailed as our "number one signing" that we had been chasing all summer. We were told he can play across the park and was VI's man from the start.

Why, then, is he not starting every game? He should be formation proof and system proof. 

Combined with the lies about Tavares' fee and his glaring lack of quality it shines a light on the combination of lack of competence in our recruitment and the blatant lies coming from the club.
