Surely can't be the attacking player we need to come in and be expected to score the goals and provide that assists we need. Hopefully not but another tool in the box, I'm guessing a loan striker will be on the cards Quote

Right winger is a must! I have a feeling we will sign a loan striker too We're still a CM short. Quote

Good work from the club though because snakes fits the narrative it's the players/manager's fault and deflects the attention away from the shit show. He was clearly being sarcastic. We have/have had enough snakes to start a serpentarium according to some. 2 Quote
TruRover Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Things are far from ideal. Venkys are a mess. However this board is abit overboard with the meltdown. Travis has been offered a better deal somewhere else. As bad as it is, we can’t match it and have to get a fee. We haven’t got a choice. As a replacement we’ve signed our number 1 target. Concerns over fitness so we’ve done a loan with option to buy. That is sensible business. Less risk for the club. Loan with options to buy is the optimal way to do business. I don’t back the board. But I like VI and I can see the teams he’s trying to build. It’s going to take time and I hope us fan will have the patience to see it come through - as frustrating as the last few weeks have been. I just feel we are abit reactionary. WestBrom we weren’t great, but it was a very even game and we had a pen not given. Birmingham we should have won - it was a good performance. Bradford was admittedly a shocker but it happens. Our club is a mess. We deserve better. But we don’t need to find the negatives in every single thing. As much as it is a buzzword, we are in transition ATM, I will be judging the team and window over September/October when things take shape 5 3 Quote

Travis is replaceable, I hope this guy fits the bill (when fit). The winger from St Pauli must qualify with enough GBE points because we don’t have any esc slots left. Im really hoping we don’t lose any more of our key players and we get a couple of Prem forward loans after Baradji and the supposed winger 🤞🏽 Oladapo Afolayan? Born in London. 2 Quote

Polky Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Loan deal makes sense due to the injury concerns. So that means there’s money for a permanent winger signing? Right!? Quote
Ghost7 Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Ahhhhh.... another £3m transfer fee conveniently gone missing by next summer! Keep it up Rovers. When are we going to see a striker and winger INVESTMENT? Two losses in and hardly any shots on goals from the front 4. 4 Quote
RoversClitheroe Posted August 22 Posted August 22 LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. TRAVIS GONE. NEW GUY IS A FUCKING LOAN?! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. if it's made perm after a certain amount of attainable appearances then fine. If not. FUCK OFF 5 Quote

rob_of_the_rovers Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Don't loan options usually mean that the player has already agreed terms to a permanent deal? Just up to the club to finalise it at the end of the loan. Quote

Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 22 Posted August 22 It's uncanny that every time an experienced player transfer out is announced. A foreign lower league player is brought in at exactly the same time. It's a stunning coincidence. In fairness this does make sense as a loan. Though bringing in an injured player just seems daft full stop. Next random relegated European better be a right winger, followed by a striker. 1 Quote

Im really hoping we don’t lose any more of our key players and we get a couple of Prem forward loans after Baradji and the supposed winger 🤞🏽 Because hes so important in terms of leadership etc, and because hes going, his importance on the pitch is being underestimated. He might be average in terms of passing but he wins the ball back really well, he is athletic, he reads the game well and he helps to protect the defence well. Leaves a huge hole and it wont be filled if his replacement is doing rehab. Quote
