I was really excited for this kit, a chance to do something exciting, a real throwback and something unique and standout in the league

If this is the actual kit, this is absolutely gash and says everything about the state of the club and the current regimes lack of connection with the fans, lack of understanding or pride in the history, lack of nouse from the commercial department. A real retro kit, old logo, no or very small sponsor and I bet they would fly out the roverstore

Probably more likely that they have a special one off retro shirt to be used in one game as they did for the 125th. I don't think it was ever on the cards to have a shirt like that for the entire season.

It's supposed to be a 150th anniversary. There should be no sponsorships on the shirt at all.

To be fair we've been practicing that for a while - a local vape company and a local solicitor firm are hardly going to pay much.

I like the kit in all honest.

Theres bigger issues to be moaning at so I won't be loosing much sleep over it.

The halves aren't even reversed.

It's another shit Macron kit off the rack.

Awful. They continue to spit in our face.

If they do release a different special edition shirt for the 150th, and I'm not confident this lot have the capabilities to do something like that, it just raises more questions.

Why do it as a limited edition? Would it not be more befitting of the monumental occasion for the special kit to be worn all season and make it a full year of a celebration? This is what others have done who have celebrated this occasion recently, Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday.

Limiting it to being work in one game, or a limited release, to me just dilutes the occasion and shortens the exposure.

Knowing what we do about their approach to stocking kits, running out etc. I could see an epic fiasco unfolding if they introduced a new kit later

Plus are people going to be willing/able to shell out another £60+ a time for another kit if it is only going to be worn once?

If they'd have gone to town on the main kit and made it a true anniversary product and got plenty of stock in they could  have made a fortune on it.

A retro style kit (with the sponsor's logo on) with the old badge would have been a lovely touch.

Instead we get 'Halved kit style 3' from the Macron catalogue.

Villa only had a special kit for one game. The only reference to 150 years on the normal home kit was a '150' on the back under the collar.

Atleast Mr Shearer was on the advert

He's a club legend so I'll temper my language by saying I'm very disappointed he's involved with this.

For the record…

That will be popular but here’s what I’d have done…

1. Reversed halves obvs
2. scroll under the badge in gold referencing 150 years
3. Macron badge in gold or red
4. contrast cuff single band to match the collar
5. halved sleeves

Other than that…😆

I can only assume there will be a one off kit released later in the year to celebrate the anniversary, and everything that everyone wants for a home shirt, will be used for that. It must be a club decision as Macron are usually one of the best kit makers when it comes to designs for anniversary kits.

It was the plan (as stated by Fraser) in April 2024 for there to be 4 kits next season…

I must admit that I like the look of this kit as it's far more traditional than what we usually get.  Love the traditional blue & white  v neck.  Not as good as the early 60's shirt but looks pretty good to me.

No reversed halves…😬

I was really looking forward to seeing this kit and I'm really underwhelmed.

Last season's shirt is miles better. I might be tempted if they somehow pull a rabbit out of the hat for a one-off shirt like they did in 2000, but I ain't buying this one.

Port Vale are also celebrating 150 years. A small but proud club, this is their anniversary shirt. Much better than ours.

The kit is nice but they usually are however it isn't radical or much of a tribute to anything it's just bog standard stuff.

Typical of the lack of real punch in anything they do down there and just smacks of going through the motions again.

Hull had their 120th anniversary last year and released this beauty in commemoration. That's Hull City, 120th anniversary. Nothing like Blackburn Rovers' 150th anniversary, a far bigger occasion and more successful club, yet they made the effort.

A unique strip, with a special badge to show everyone what it was all about.

They also released a whole range of other gear - t-shirts, tracksuit tops etc. in the same range. Made a load of money out of it and had to order more in.

I'd hoped that at the very least we'd be able to manage something similar here. Seems not. Effort....something money can't buy. You can either be bothered or you can't.

Venkys. Equal parts thick and lazy.

Agree, quite like the v neck with reversed colors.

Just that horrible Venky sticker on the arm makes me physically sick.

No one will be more disappointed than Chaddy. He was looking forward to seeing the kit before anyone else today and it's just been leaked on here.
