Until they meet Rovers’ valuation he has no right to talk to them. I hope Venky’s do the usual and make him see out his contract. Narrative leaked to say he's refused to play. Who's to say Rovers didn't pull him out so they can bank the transfer money...? Fans lap it up, it's all the players fault, we tried to keep him, bla bla bla... They've already got his replacements in - new guy and the young lad who started today. They'll net £2.5m+ whilst splashing out a few hundred grand and paying a much lower wage. Anyway, that's for a different thread. 1 Quote

Tomphil2 Posted Saturday at 22:49 Posted Saturday at 22:49 Didn't say he refused he said he didn't want to play so we had a talk and i said ok but just today. Absolutely no difference to the Eustace/Sammie situation and either time the boss or the club could have said hey we are paying you so play. They are all willing parties in this and Val admitted it's now about getting a fee because of the contract situ. 1 Quote

So, yeah, he refused to play. Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted Sunday at 07:46 Posted Sunday at 07:46 Anyone who went yesterday, what was DeNeve like? Is he genuinely quick, does he look like he could step up? Quote

JBiz Posted Sunday at 07:56 Posted Sunday at 07:56 Refusing to play a game crosses a line for me as a rovers fan, one that’s difficult to come back from. The Szmodics revelations for example, tarnished my opinion of him. I do understand that footballers will go to maximise their earnings but if I was an owner or manager, I’d be steering clear of players who’ve done it. 2 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted Sunday at 08:03 Posted Sunday at 08:03 Montgomery was the stand out yesterday. Tyjon did well and I see him being a part of this season squad. Movement is good. Only 16/17 but we need to bring through to our squad Quote

He was on free kicks and corners,he looks to have a nice left footed set piece delivery. 1 Quote

On one occasion he must have sprinted 50 yards flat out to press one of the Accy players. Does he have a trick ? He’s not very big or physical. I get the feeling he’s cover for Kargbo. Quote

Unless he plays them both. 1 Quote

Backroom Mike E Posted Sunday at 15:05 Backroom Posted Sunday at 15:05 I don’t think Brittain (or Sammie come to think of it) refused to play, did they? They just asked (not demanded) to be allowed to speak to other clubs instead of playing and were granted it. Happens more often than you’d think tbh. But I do agree IF it was an outright ‘refusal’ to play despite the manager’s wishes, then yes that crosses ‘the Gestede line’. Quote

Hasta Posted Sunday at 15:10 Posted Sunday at 15:10 Gestede can’t comment on it in the next Fans Forum meeting. Doing it in a friendly is one thing, doing it in January when we are chasing promotion is something else. Quote

I used to say i don't want to go to school but my parents advised me otherwise, i never refused to go i just didn't feel like it but there would have been concequences. No difference here, he hasn't felt like playing and his boss as said ok just this once so he didn't actually get the chance to refuse did he because he wasn't told he had to play. Quote
