Thats what I am asking, where are they from? De Neve has never scored more than 2 in a season. Hedges never scores, youve even said hes "not that type of player," he got 1 last season. Cantwell got 1 from open play. Its pointless debate cos everytime I said one thing, its always no, no and no from you, So what's the point, I have posted my opinion, disagree fine, but I'm not going around and around in circles time after time Quote

Don't forget "wait till the end of the window" to see where any other goals come from. Quote

Ohashi would have hit double figures and given he had played 6 months of the Japanese season before coming here, I expecting 15 goals plus from him this season after he been here 1 year, knows the league better and injury free Quote

No I answer your question first team and then I get this "I dont see 25 goals between them 2"(your comment), so what's the point continue this debate, cos you won't agree so what the point going forward and backwards all night, is there actually any point? roversfan99 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I can see Ohashi getting more than last season, but 15+ is a big ask. Maybe it was unusual in this regard, but only 4 players in the whole league got that many last season. Its the midfield where the goals are lacking in particular though. De Neve, Hedges and Cantwell I would suspect are our first choices at the moment. Discounting 2 penalties, they got 5 between them last season. Miyoshi has been linked, if he signed he is not really a goalscorer either. Quote
funny-old-game Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Googled football scores and this came up as featured game. Route one rovers, What's that about 🤔 Quote
Polky Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I feel it will be a really boring 1-1 draw with two crap goals from awful defending. Yuki to pounce on a poor back pass to draw us level. Quote

Miyoshi has been linked, if he signed he is not really a goalscorer either. We needed more scoring from the wingers and 10 role already. Weiman, Dolan, ACD werent exactly prolific scorers either. I’d bet Mioshi, De Neve, kargbo could match the output we got last season. I’d hope Cantwell is better band think starting with Ribeiro vs Pickering is an upgrade from last years start. Brittian obviously a big loss. I would say we’re worse off than a year ago but I don’t think it’s a huge difference from the start 12 months ago. Where we will be worse is service from our right back position and without Batth the defensive back line. Point is we’re not really any worse up front, but we were very good to begin with. Weimann and Dolan both had 7 a piece but anyone watching them play last year would feel that number was well below what you’d expect. one thing for sure, we cannot expect Hedges to contribute to the attack so without a quality right winger we are significantly worse off than before. DavidMailsTightPerm Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Really difficult one to call - but interested to see Axel play - possibly in the Cantwell role. The power and pace he shows in his clips look promising and he has the benefit of being fitter than most. Quote

Those 7 goals each are going to be a loss. As you mention, Hedges isnt going to contribute goals. De Neve has never scored more than 2 in a season. Miyoshi if he signs, the highest goal return he has ever had is the 6 he got in a season at Birmingham, usually less. Quote

neophox Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I think we will start like this: Toth Miller, Hyam, McLaughlin, Ribeiro Travis, Tronstad Hedges, Ohashi, Kargbo Gueye 1 Quote

I think kargbo has the chance to be the highest scorer of the entire group. Also think De Neve will get more than 2 if he gets the minutes in that advanced roll. Hedges is who he is, a squad filler. anyhow I’d Expect our front 4 to be De Neve, hedges, Ohashi and Gueye. Not much different than 12 months ago when it was JRC, Dolan, Hedge, Gueye. Quote
yankfan Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Starting XI last campaign. I’d say we’re weaker at right back, better at left back. Middle 2 the same. Much better in goal. Then the 4 attackers, 2 the same. And it’s JRC and Dolan out De Neve and Ohashi in. All in all the side is very similar to a year ago. 3 Quote
philipl Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Big question is about Miller starting and whether Henriksson is fitted in. Quote
RevidgeBlue Posted August 9 Posted August 9 (edited) Ah it's here again, opening day of the season, 54th full season of following the Club, the nervousness, the excitement surrounding a new season, the new players, fairly new manager, the anticipation of wondering whether this season we can actually ...... (Gramophone needle scratches across the record) be "sustainable" for another season. 🤨 Anyhow with Cantwell out Id like to see us being positive with either Ohashi behind Gueye or Tyjon behind Ohashi, Kargbo starting ahead of De Neve and no sign whatsoever of Hedges anywhere. Doubt it will happen. Hope everyone going down has a good day. Edited August 9 by RevidgeBlue 2 Quote
Bronzed A Donis Posted August 9 Posted August 9 2-0 Rovers. Why not. Ohashi and a Trondstad screamer. 1 Quote
onlyonejackwalker Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Here we go again. I'm here. Not excited, not confident, no anticipation, hopes or expectations. No affinity to any player, the manager, club management, or the owners. Not even to the ground, with all its legacy. But i have respect, love and friendship for everyone of you. Truly I do. Because you are also here. And like me, you give everything and can change nothing. WIn, lose, or draw. It doesn't matter. What matters is we are all here and will be forever. That's magical and truly inspirational. I hhope we win for everyone of you. 3 Quote
arbitro Posted August 9 Posted August 9 One certainty today is that Rovers will be well supported on the road again. 4 Quote

roverblue Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Got no clue about any of the new lads but we will miss all the championship experience we have let go. Going for a 1-1, think we will be very low scoring this season but fairly solid at the back. Quote
