Yeah but say Ipswich beat us & got in the playoffs ahead of someone else... There's room for complaint there aswell. The game didn't finish, no one gets the full 3 points available but the points are shared fairly. Mve on. Don't see the problem with this.

The problem is you can't get two points in a game in the EFL.  There will be room for complaint (for someone) whatever they decide to do, but this would initiate legal battles that the league would probably lose. Nothing in the rules allows for this to happen, however pragmatic it may appear to be.

I’d say they’d definitely lose…

We’d have been declared the winner and therefore Ipswich would’ve been given a point for losing.

Really can’t see how either team could complain if ordered to play the remaining time 11v10. It’s clearly the fairest option of those tabled and doesn’t seem to have any reason why it can’t be accomplished. It is in the rules as a specific option so what would be the reason for not doing it? If Ipswich don’t want to travel for it they have the option of forfeiting the game. Let anyone that wants to watch 15mins football in for free and job done.

what's Nixon's latest piece?

'Shock new presedent'

Our fault that the pitch isn't up to standard so 3 points to Ipswich?

Wonder if in the interest of fair play Ipswich would let us walk one in to effectively start at 1-0 - yeah right

What a great option. Tap it around the midfield for whole of 1st half.

Come out after halftime, the same player walks straight up to ref and uses four and abusive language, red card.

They let us walk one in. 1-0 up against 10 men, all to play for with 45 mins to go.

I'd accept that as a fair deal.

It's way better than the position they were in.

Call the result but give Rovers 1 point instead of 3.

Job done.

That’s an everybody loses situation though

Not really it's a fair compromise i'd say.

No hassle or expense of a replay for either club, Rovers get the win but Ipswich can't squeal about losing 3 points to a panel judgement.

Some of the suggestions on here are crazy to be honest.

It was only after I last posted at the weekend that saw just how bad the conditions were there.    Initially thought the game could be seen through at 80 minutes but Yes the surface and ball together was simply unplayable.    Whether you're Rovers or a Town fan or for or against what happened, it had to be in the interest of public safety the match was cut short when it was.

The game will have to replayed, usually when or if there's crowd trouble and the match is stopped because of it the authorities award a home or away victory but since it's weather, they're going to have to erase the result and start again.    The goal scored by your player won't stand neither will the score up until interruption but the Greaves red card is set to stay if I've read recent reports correct.      Some people will question the latter.

Even with a replayed game in the near future or whenever it be, you'd still strongly expect Blackburn to take a favourable result at your home stadium.    We've been largely poor and ineffective this season and we're not going to transform into improvement overnight.    I don't think what occurred this weekend or the planned return game will effect our chances of promotion this season.    We've already lost a lot of ground to the top places even into September and there's no real consistency or urge to once again do well or succeed.

Well thats impossible. No chance of Ipswich agreeing.

Surely if the EFL made a decision both clubs would have to agree even if they don’t like the decision?
