Elrovers Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Thought that was a decent performance. First half was okay second half much much better. AK redeemed himself, fair enough. Some positives to take out of this and thank fuck for international break. Next three games look daunting hopefully a couple of results. Quote

RoversTilliDie Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Best game I've seen Miller play in a Rovers shirt, won some crucial tackles near our box, or it could have been another defeat. Cantwell put in another decent performance. 1 Quote
Gamst Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Good fight back against a strong Stoke team. Expected us to roll over and concede a couple more after their first goal and that certainly didn’t happen. Only a point but it stops the losing run at home and provides a little more hope than the previous 2 matches. The sheff wed draw at home was the spark for a good run last season. It’s nice not to lose or have a late abandonment to ruin the weekend for once! Quote

I agree, we suddenly started playing the last half hour, and could have snatched all 3pts. A bit of hope, and we stopped the rot at home, with a point. Quote

Must have his share of duff performances throughout the season to have been left malingering in the Championship at Stoke. Or he really, really loves oatcakes. He's been made Swedish first choice keeper, some prem team will snap him up in January for sure. 1 Quote

PotterLog Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Pretty disappointed to drop two points after dominating the first half and going ahead. We seem to specialise in losing control of games. Could have ended up with nowt in the end. Anyway in more significant matters here’s a dispatch from the Oatcake: Disappointed with the result but how good were the pies!? Peppered steak.. delightful! Edible pastry unlike the garbage they serve down the bet365 now 4 1 Quote

Clubs in the South East like Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton are much better 'franchises' to invest in. Utter nonsense The only difference between them and us is they're well managed and ambitious - rather like Burnley.in fact. I'd written today off as a defeat and see it as a point gained. They all count in the relegation fight we're in Edited October 4 by jim mk2 6 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Hard fought well earned and very important point there and another game where we perhaps should have found another goal. Kargbo took the goal well and much improved effort but still looks like there is a bit of wrong attitude about him. Cantwell immense there'll certainly be interest in Jan if he can keep it up, played like a captain today. Deserved a point and hopefully they come up with a decent system in he break before our annual Coventry loss, still wasn't impressed with the tactics again today really but effort not in question. Yes. His ball control is diabolical. Lost possession against Swansea leading to their winning goal. 1 Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Pleased that the lads managed to fight back and get something from the game, but sadly I think the damage has been done in this last week. 1 point from a possible 9 just isn't anywhere near good enough, especially with 2 of those games being at home. No home win yet this season and it'll be beyond mid October before Rovers are back in action at Ewood. It's just not good enough. Incredibly tough run coming up after the international break. Sheffield United at home is looking huge. 1 Quote

chaddyrovers Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) Great that the weather didn't caused any issues with the game. Satisfy with a point tho had Gudjohnsen or Cantwell scored in the first half we could be talking about 3 points today. We had chances 1st half and we scored at least one. Stoke's danger all came through Manhoef 1st haf and no surprised he scored the Stoke Goal, through Ribeiro struggled all game against him. After going one nil down, we made a number of changes and its helps us. De Neve coming on the left with Hedges going left back gave us more attacking intent. Our goal came from the left and delighted Karbgo got his first goal for us. He owed us one after Tuesday night. We still had other chances and could have won it. My man of the match was Hedges. Through our best play came through him. Miller had his best game at centre back and Alebiosu was good. Thought Morishita and TGH were off it abit. Felt for Gudjohnsen today, his best piece of play came around 20.30 mins and had his chance, yes it bounce a big higher but should have scored for me. Captain Cantwell again very good and good leader Its a point and we can build on this but Coventry away is probably the toughest away game in the league currently Edited October 4 by chaddyrovers Quote

Yes, he was trying to lay it off to a teammate. The ball was deflected over Toth - a very fortunate goal. 1 Quote
Hasta Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I thought for the first half Stoke were very good. Very fluid going forward. However once they got in front they decided to stop coming onto us as much and that led to us getting a foothold in the game, and by the end we looked like we might nick it. Overall probably fair. Toth and Alebiosu good again. Thought De Neve was a game changer. Rather Ohashi than the Gudjohnsen, who was poor. Cantwell is frustrating. Does some good thing (such as the cutback) but then can be too lackadaisical, and also give the ball away very similar to Kargbo last game and similarly didn’t track back. 1 Quote
