But im fully expecting him to sign a pre contract with Derby, Watford, QPR, Middleborough in feb. The family thing I am sure is right but no one walks away from a million quid extra on a two year contract. We really are absolute specialists in giving our best players away for free. Must be the best the division has ever seen? 5 Quote

He cant (legally speaking at least) sign a pre contract with another English side until the final month of his deal (its the final 6 months of his deal if he went to any other country) Not that I am disputing that he may well end up at another English side 1 Quote
JHRover Posted yesterday at 11:47 Posted yesterday at 11:47 'Family reasons' all rather convenient at the club that won't extend the contract of anyone and cuts/reduces/offloads wherever possible. Proof will be in the pudding but I'd be surprised if he's playing in the Norwegian league come next year. 1 Quote

Do we have a link to that? Because I remember after that was said, @Kjell posted this post, which said that in another Norwegian podcast Tronstad said:- I want to stay abroad for as long as possible. I’d really like to stay at Rovers, I enjoy it a lot there. I have NOT received any contract offer from Rovers, there have only been some informal conversations. Now I can’t find links to any podcast so don’t believe either view over the other, but the Elliot Jackson article about Tronstadt over the summer quotes Rudy as saying he wants to leave for personal reasons, and I don’t believe Rudy. sharpysharps86 Posted yesterday at 14:16 Posted yesterday at 14:16 Tronstad will go. There is no reason to think otherwise based on how the club dealt with Travis, Hyam, Brittain, Dolan, Brereton Diaz, etc. He may well fancy sticking around but the club more than likely won't offer him some deserved improved terms. 2 Quote

KentExile Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Can we change the thread title, to "The great many needs, & even greater disappointments of the January transfer window"? Quote

Using Hindsight, we should have got rid in the summer. No he hasn't. If anything he's been a hindrance every time he's stepped foot on the pitch. I imagine they were trying as Ismael clearly hasn't fancied him since he came in. Aside from a brief spell last season that peaked with WBA away, Gueye has been a woeful signing who simply hasn't developed any sort of intelligence to play at this level. He's also the type of player who clearly needs an arm round his shoulder and I'm not sure Ismael is the type. Ohashi and Gudjohnsen desperately need decent competition so that when substitutions happen it doesn't completely derail the team in an attacking sense. Shame we flogged Leonard to Peterborough really as he would've been a better option than Gueye IMO. 1 Quote
B16Rover Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I like the look of Pointon from Bradford in the limited highlights I've seen. Similar care the O Riordan in that he's a young player who's played loads of games. Can't be on loads of money currently and in good form having stepped up from league two to league one. Added bonus of when we go down, we know he can play in that league too. Quote

For years, people have taken these issues as the owners proactively investing in the club, expecting transfer business. They are merely to cover the losses incurred. Other Championship owners do the same. Quote
