January Transfer Needs

O'Riordan will be coming back which I think is a sensible decision as he's been one of the best defenders in lge 1 this season. 

I'd scrub off a RB from the list as Litherland is more than a capable deputy for Alebiosu. Miller and TGH can also cover there. We need to squeeze as much out of our budget as possible.

CD, two attackers, and CM are the priority. Surely they have to be experienced players who are ready to make an impact from day one.

Gueye will definitely go, probably Pickering too. Tyjon likely as he's clearly not signing a new contract here so may as well get rid.

Dyke’s a blunt instrument. Gudjohnsen has his faults but when it comes to converting chances into goals he’s pretty good. Not many would have put that cross at Preston away and made it look easy peasy.

and how many games have he actually started? 

Birmingham signed a striker for £8m which was over half of their transfer spent and he has zero games. Dykes has 2.

Didn't realise they have only won 1 out of there last 15 league games.

We need somebody who’s more like Gudjohnsen than Dykes. Somebody who’s more of a poacher than a grafter. We’ve got Ohashi to do the spadework. It’s a shame Gudjohnsen has got injured, they were looking to have formed a good partnership. It’s not  easy making signings when we’re down to our last magic bean. Oh to have the money we wasted on Gallagher and Brererton again. That’d buy you a good player at this level even now. I wonder what Southampton would want for Alan Armstrong ?

You can still be a very good performer in a underperforming/poor team

Doncaster's manager (& fans on their forum) gave fairly scathing reports of their loanees, with the exception of O'Riordan, who was singled out for praise

I wonder just how outstanding/exceptional a defender has been, in a team who has won once since the beginning of September & who sit second bottom in the table, but he will probably do an adequate job as cover for Miller

Think he's on about £60k a week, so even if they have him away for free he'd have to accept a brutal pay cut to return here. Granted he might have had a wage reduction after relegation, but even so, well out of our price range!

Agree with most that post, but if you mean Adam Armstrong, he would be well outside of our budget

Dykes roughly average 1 goal every 4.5 games at QPR so that's 10 goals a season. If he could come in a get 5 goals within 15 games period then I would be be happy. 

Everytime with yourself, you are so quick to slagged off and moan about people's suggestions whilst coming up with none of your own and when asked, we get the standard line, I'm not a scout, i don't know on fees involved but I will continue to moan at others for their suggestions. 

Nothing patronising in my post but yet again, just posted the same old comments from you. You didn't read my comments and you misunderstood who does the transfer negotiations otherwise you wouldn't have posted what you did. 

No-one comment about its well structure or harmonious but you throw these comments in for some unknown reasons 

Gudjohnsen and Dykes might play in similar areas but the main difference is the most important. Gudjohnsen seems to have a knack of scoring goals. Dykes certainly doesnt.

I am not in a position to find and know enough about my own transfer suggestions. But I do know Lyndon Dykes enough to know that hes a bit of a donkey. I think Hardie as a suggestion has more merit to it. Mind you, its a pretty depressing thought that the 4th/5th/6th choice strikers at promoted teams are almost certainly unobtainable (certainly without wage contributions) to us, a side who finished 7th last season.

We need 2 strikers. I cant say I have any confidence in us getting 2, in us getting anyone good or in us getting anyone in proactively.

Arguably the originally desperate need to recall O Riordan has been superceded by the form of Pratt and Litherland anyway?

I hope O Riordan isnt just parachuted in in front of those two for the sake of it.

Its a starter that we need, to play in the middle, after losing Hyam.

We would then have McLaughlin and Pratt on the left, someone new in the centre, Miller on the right with O'Riordan covering and pushig them both. Which would at least give us more quality and balance.

Not sure why we still only see fleeting cameo’s of Baradji, but he looks a player when he gets on the pitch. 
 

If he was to remain fit I hope he’s here next season, but I’m concerned how ‘watertight’ any agreement is, and whether or not Baradji can decide he wants a different move.

If there is an option to buy then the terms have already been agreed and signed off by both clubs, the player, agent etc

The only way he doesn't sign is if Rovers do not trigger the option, which given who runs the club, is a possibility

There is the possibility that he is one of the stand out players in the Championship and a club with more finances fancies taking him, in this case he would still be legally obliged to sign for Rovers first (assuming they trigger the option), who would then sell him on at profit.

The main issue is Venkys/Pasha/etc moving the goalposts on us again by changing the budget/project etc, but barring a ridiculous act of self sabotage (*), he will sign for Rovers by the end of the season

 

* which with our owners is a possibility

When money is incredibly tight and half your recruitment team doesn't like a player - either your need to shrink your recruitment team because they don't know what they're talking about, or you don't bid for the player as there isn't a consensus.
