I have, have you noticed that we had a well respected manager when THB and Tosin were loaned to is or did it completely pass you by? The club now undoubtedly has less draw than when Mowbray was here and its clear for anyone with a slight interin football to see. Quote

OK fair enough, this convo is over then. Quote

If you don't agree with that then yes the convo is over. Whilst he pissed a lot of fans off towards the end of his tenure at Ewood, you won't hear anyone in the wider football world speak badly about Tony. A likeable character, an ex defender too, of course clubs were happy to loan young defenders to him. Liverpool were happy to lend him highly rated Harvey Elliott, ask him what he thinks of Mowbray...... 2 Quote
Emerald Isle Rover Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago So are we predicting a rumour or two today to ‘try’ and defuse the rising tensions within the fanbase? Quote
Wegerleswiggle Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Guess Pickering isn't off to Reading then. They've just brought in Haydon Roberts Quote

Blackburn in bombshell offer for Declan Rice - £2mil. Then everyone on Facebook will say "see they are ambitious!" 1 Quote

Whilst he got his fair share of pelters when he was here, (Gurning Chump etc from me) Mowbray was a manager held in high regard within the game, especially by others from his era (I spoke to both Mark Hughes and Mick McCarthy about Mowbray and both were very complimentary about him and his approach). Like others at the time I couldn't see the pressure he must have been under to conform to 'the model' that is now visible in all of its glory via Pasha and Gestede. On reflection, perhaps TM was just ground down like the rest of us, and his gurning demeanour simply a reflection of his being prevented from doing the things he wanted to do. Perhaps we will never know, but since JDT, Eustace and now (it seems) Ismael have all now complained of the same constraints on their ability to deliver results, I think we can all agree that the success of Blackburn Rovers as a competitive football club is NOT the main objective for whoever is actually driving the club. Ultimately, that space is occupied by the odious absentee owners, whose work appears delegated to the deeply questionable capabilities of Suhail shady boy Pasha (who as we know trousers a healthy salary year in year out and appears accountable to no-one). VENKYS OUT! PASHA OUT! Edited 3 hours ago by Old Codger Gurning is inevitable if your bollocks are being smashed with invisible but real house bricks from behind your back. Quote

VENKYS OUT! PASHA OUT! I didn't like Mowbray at all personally. Had a cushty job. Told Venkys not to spend. Threw players under the bus. Played square pegs in round holes. Terrible in January. At one point played Sam Gallagher at RB. Was never anywhere near playoffs with a way way better squad than JDT and Eustace (who both nearly got playoffs if it weren't for the shambles in January and summer windows) 4 Quote

Pretty sure his last season we were I think for long periods we were in the top 4 if memory serves me right and the the typical rovers blow out happened Quote
cesus Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Whilst our 21's and first team are pretty much the same thing these days, I've wondered for a while how we have not been able to get more young players out playing professional football. We clearly see the (cheap) path of Academy to first team, surely some professional football would be beneficial before coming into Championship fixtures. Quote

Another case of needing a bit of help in Jan to see us over the line that season. 1 Quote

Could be argued that whether it’s gd one point or 20 ya didnt make it but don’t think its fair the poster to say under his tenure we were nowhere near it Quote

islander200 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Nixon replied to someone on his patreon that we have a bid in for a striker from abroad but we are not the favourites to get him Fk sake how hard Is it to find a lwb even if only a loan 1 Quote
London blue Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'd say it's close to impossible to get a lwb if you have no intention of getting one and aren't making any overtures to do so. Quote
Trinidad Rover Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Our appalling window is going under the rader with the (unsurprising and merited) focus on results and Ismael. This is a real shocker though. Failed spectacularly to fill the gaps we have - A defender we didn't need who is rubbish. A winger/striker with no Championship experience, who in fairness looks decent so far. Assume that is our lot for this latest round of 'significant investment'. I am intrigued who will get the Siggy treatment at the end of the month (currently a 26 man/child squad). 1 Quote

Plenty deserve the siggy treatment that really shouldn’t be an issue The issue will be we all know who shouldn’t make the cut but because Rudy and his team have signed them they won’t get cut as itl be a blow to their egos hedges should miss out along with any of tavaraes de neve henriksson and one of/maybe both Pickering/ribiero Quote
