Anyone still laughing at Eustace, waving snakes, or questioning his decision?

Derby will certainly make playoffs and probably go up.

Key word here is laughing.

Knew why they did what they did, but I’m a rovers fan. Was a similar feeling with JDT and JE, “Just do your best”.

Difference with Eustace, he’s old fashioned. I personally couldn’t stand the JDT “keeper gets most of the ball” setup, but both go down in a category of putting themselves first.

Cant blame them from the outset. But I’m not fucking sat on the outset! 🤣

It will be a bit awkward for Venkys when quite a few of the Derby Rovers team, that wasn't considered good enough for Championship football, makes it into the Premier League 😂

Eustace + staff
Batth
Sanderson
Travis
Weimann
Brereton Diaz
Szmodics
Nyambe

We've now seen that a bit of extra money, ambition, and trust does go a long way.

It's even more awkward that deep down we probably like their players a lot more than our own! 🤣

The only one of those you could argue wasn't considered good enough for Championship football is Nyambe.

Actually now I think on it, we tried to keep him too. Maybe not very hard but still. And Brereton we literally turned down millions for. Szmodics we sold to a Premiership club.

Id say money is just part of it. Even more important is we have owners who know nothing about football and no interest. As a result we've ended up with absolute chancers top to bottom and run out of luck.

Motivated interested owners with the same money available would do a lot better by making decisions based on some understanding of the game and reacting quickly and sensibly when things go wrong....

Don't disagree with any of that, Venkys have been completely disinterested for years

But I was referring specifically to the steepened rate of decline over the past 2 years.  I don't think they are any less disinterested than they have been, they have just now completely turned the taps off too, so we cant even get lucky and employ a Manager/Head Coach/Director of Football/CEO/etc who is even vaguely competent

I thought Nyambe had the potential to be good enough. Personally, I thought he suited playing on the right side of a back three - a bit like Miller for us. He had the physical attributes, the energy, sadly not any attacking ability, which for a right back or right wing back - that's now part of the job.

Whether players want to stay or not, too many times we've seen the club put in half arsed attempts to try and keep a valuable player, which I'm convinced is to try to keep fans on their side rather than to actually want to keep the player. I appreciate when a big club comes in, it's hard to compete financially, but when players end up going to another club in the same division, you need to question why. Travis, Batth, Weimann being recent examples. Had we offered Dolan a bigger, deserved wage, I'm convinced he would have signed way before finding a move to Spain. Tronstad is another player that i'm sure would have re-signed after he won the player of the year last season if he was offered more money. He'll be leaving on a free and we'll struggle to replace him.

Its baffling that we decided to keep Tyjon. Anything to do with the managerial change? Is Damien going to have him in the squad tonight and insist on playing him?

Just seen Sheffield Wednesday have had a way better window than us in my opinion.

Nakamba from Luton

Amass Man Utd

Jerry Yates

Ethan Horvath

Joe Lumley

Jaden Heskey

Nathan Redmond

All better than we’ve bought in.

Amass left there to go on loan to Norwich a few days ago.  Since then he's picked up an injury and is headed back to United for assessment.

Ah, he must have been on the list as an outgoing not an incoming. Rest of the list looks like it will improve them. Won’t be an easy one tonight if they have new players with a point to prove. Have to hope that ours want to impress any new manager coming in.

They didnt. We had a really poor window. They didnt have a better one though.

They lost Bannan, Amass and Cadamarteri. Redmond's contract expired. Horvath's contract expired. The others are just a case of scrambling together random journeymen and kids to make up the numbers somewhat.

Sounds just like us in the last 18 months!

Out of our 27 players, if you take out Toth, Alebiosu and Gudjohnsen, it's a pretty similar description.

Toth autocorrects to tooth, ha
