alexanders Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Sorry if mentioned: BREAKING: Dean Smith is being poised for a return to England with Blackburn and Watford interested. Sources suggest Smith is being considered, and Smith is eager to manage in the UK again. Quote

The only ambition the board has is to try and keep the books relatively balanced for the slumlords in pune Spot on with the BS. Any mention of a board makes it sound like we are a normal run club, which we aren't, as it's all down to following the instructions coming from a company who have no football interest. Search for this yes man continues but I still hope they appoint someone who has me puzzled. 2 Quote

Looked to have a very bright managerial future at one point but tailed off and seems to have gone worse and worse as he's gone on. 1 Quote

I think this has just snowballed from that tweet and people putting money on him . I'm sure there was a theory circulating on here when Ismael was appointed that the club deliberately circulates underwhelming names (third choices) to distract from the fact when a second choice manager is appointed its a relief and not a disappointment we didn't get an ambitious pick Quote

Listening to him speak you can tell hes got a bit about him manager wise, and hes won a league albeit in Ireland, but least hes done something. I believe hes now part of keith andrews staff at brentford atm. Compared to all the other names id say hes on par with most, and if i have to put up with a mediocre unproven manager, id rather it was someone i loved as a player for rovers thats at least had some small success as a manager so far. My thoughts exactly. Quote

What's not to love? I don't think I've ever celebrated a goal overheard on RadioRovers as hard as I celebrated Jansen's goal, on his first game after his injury, against Portsmouth in 2004. 5 Quote

DJ would make more sense surely? Don't want Johnson. He'd be a cheap appointment who'd go along with everything gestede tells him. I want someone the players will respect 1 1 Quote

As with everyone else currently in employment though, faces the massive stumbling block that we very rarely pay compo for anyone. Still also very happy with Bilic or Rowett if either are interested. That would be my shortlist of 3. 4 Quote

roverandout Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Nothing against Johnson but we don't need another rookie. Like bowyer who had the best squad we've had at this level and failed miserably 1 Quote
JHRover Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If Johnson gets the job it wouldn't be for the right reasons. It appears he has no pressing desire to be a manager, which begs the question of why we would ask him to do it a minute longer than necessary, but beyond that they wouldn't be doing it for the good of the club/team. They'd be doing it because they can't be arsed or don't want the cost/hassle of finding an established manager and paying what it takes. 3 Quote

Realistically not happening regardless but I wouldn't judge any manager based on their time there tbf Considerably more distinguished managers achieved either not much more or even less - and we would take any of them in dreamland! Damien Duff was very outspoken during his time at Shelbourne he took on the FAI publicly for change accross all aspects of the irish league and as a league of ireland supporter it was a breath of fresh air this is why he will not be the next rovers manager.
