You are trying to make them sound like saints. They are shysters. They finance the club because they have to. It is their obloigation as club owners. All club owners have to pay the bills. Simple as that. They are rich and the amount of money they put in is nothing to them - they don't do it out of kindness. It's probably like me or you giving £5 to charity to enable us to not have a guilty conscience - but of course we could do much more. Good owners would go above and beyond to ensure there were good staff on the ground in Blackburn to make sure players are happy and not letting their contracts run down to become free agents, Good owners would be present on transfer deadline day to ensure there are no cockups. Good owners would be pulling out all the stops during January if there was any chance of promotion. Good owners would take pride in the stadium and infrastructure and pay to ensure they are maintianed - no FFP implications there. Good owners would listen to the fans and make every effort to increase attnedances rather than try and recoup the money by increasing ticket prices Good owners would not upset the whole fanbase by attempting to sell Brockhall for housing while reducing the team's training facilities and destroying the legacy of Jack Walker. Good owners don't need to be mega rich as long as they have the interests of the club at heart and work night and day to make sure it succeeds. You say they let the managers do their job but didn't they prevent Mowbray from selling Rothwell and he then walked for nothing ? Venky's are rich and that allows them to carry on this charade. They don't give a toss.

What a game. Enjoyed last night more than any other match in the last 11 years. For the first time in a very very long time I was able to forget about Venky's and the shambles behind the scenes at our club. It was all about the football and the occasion. Everyone contributed to a fantastic night. It brought back the joy of being a Rovers' fan.

I may have missed this but have we admitted that we cocked up the paperwork for the Rochdale lad or was that transfer also part of the appeal to the EFL? Have we conceded that the transfer failed due to errors at our end ? That transfer must have been very straight forward so no excuse for failure on that one. The focus on the LO'B transfer may be deflecting attention from this.

Interestng timing considering the ACV on Ewood expires this year. Sell Brockhall ( Waggott can claim no responsibility - it's not owned by the club ) and squeeze some traing facilities somewhere around Ewood - For the good of the community of course!

We need to do something significant while people are still angry. Otherwise emotions will calm and the issue will drift into the past while we all slowly come to accept the status quo. Rovers continue to decline, the board continue to take their massive wages and Venkys continue to not give a sh*t. We need to reclaim the Rovers.

Because it's our club - it belongs to the fans. The people in charge are making us ( Blackburn Rovers ) a laughing stock. The people running our club don't have the same feelings as us. The owners have no connection at all and no interest. It's not a case of simply talking the club down. We are just angry at the way the club is being run and have every right to point out why we are angry. There is very little defence for this incompetence. There have been many bad owners at many clubs over the years but I doubt there have ever been any other owners who literally don't give a toss about the club and care even less about the fans. I bet if they had a deadline to submit plans for houses on Brockhall they wouldn't have missed it. Snakes the lot of em.

Rovers signed Brereton 'on loan with a view to buy' from the same club so surely everyone on both sides knew the process that needed to be followed.

I like him as a commentator on Ifollow. Very open about some of the methods used in training. Interesting comments on fellow players ( BB is a very 'weird guy' apparently ) and too much information when he said he was going for a half time poo! Obviously a character.

I don't disagree that Norwich have many advantages over us due to parachute payments etc but there is more to it than that. Norwich may have more money and better players than us but we beat them. We beat them because they didn't play well and the manager was not getting the best out of his players. Maybe there was some conflict between the players and the manager. The fans certainly didn't like the manager. So, as a normally functioning, well run club with ambition, the Norwich board assessed the situation and decided to act. It will probably turn out to be the right decision and I would expect them to be in the playoffs without having to spend heavily. The fans, the club and probably the players will all feel that it was done in the everyone's best interests with the aim being to get promoted this season. That's the difference - We have no board to speak of, we have no ambition, we have nobody behind the scenes responsible for the best interests of the club. We just have the fabled 'journey'. The £50 million will obviously help but being well run and decisive, as a club, is just as important. That is our main problem. In theory, we have an opportunity to spend a chunk of money this window due to the profit declared last year but we all know it won't happen. Rovers need mending from the inside before we will progress. Venky's out

I spoke to a member of staff before Christmas. They can still order new stock of home shirts and could have ordered new stock weeks ago but due to the minimum order quantities imposed by Macron, they made the decision not to order any more shirts this season. The reason given was that they don't think they will sell the quantity they will be forced to order and don't want to be left with loads of shirts at the end of the season. So they basically underestimated demand when making the initial order and once they were gone that was it. Tough luck to anyone who wants a home shirt after that.

Having announced a profit last financial year we must have the option to spend some cash. I know that FFP works on a rolling 3 year basis and once the 'profit year' rolls out of the equation we will be in trouble again but as of today, we surely have options. Why go to the bother of 'selling/buying' Brockhall to create cash flow if we don't take advantage of it. They have to take a gamble at some point and we have the chance right now while sitting in the playoff places - more so than last year due to the better profit/loss position. Any serious owners would be around the table right now, planning the next move.

Yesterday's match was fairly typical of Rovers away performances this season. I didn't have much hope of anything else. We are a 'poor to average' team for this division. The defence is steady enough when defending (not farting about , trying the fancy passing). midfield is not competitive and attacking options are limited to BB doing something special. Never going to be a recipe for success. Shout out for JRC who at least turned up and played well with a bit of spirit. If we are 'in transition' then why play Morton as he is not part of any future plans and is no better than what we already have. Nothing against him personally but it makes no sense. Having said that, for the second season running we are in the playoff positions in January and have the opportunity to stay there. If, like last season, we take no serious steps to strengthen now then we all know the likely outcome. Other clubs will take the opportunity.

I wish I had read this thread earlier. I phoned Roverstore on Monday and explained that I would be visiting on Tuesday to buy a shirt and wanted to make sure the shirt printing service was available as I've been to the shop in the past and had to return at a later date to get a name put on the shirt. I was assured that printing service would be available on Tuesday. I duly turned up on Tuesday, after travelling a fair way, to be told there were no shirts available! You'd think they might have mentioned it on the phone! Apparently Macron will only supply in large quantities ( 500 of every size is the minimum order ) The club don't think they will sell in those quantities between now and the end of the season so are not ordering any. I was told that the lead time is over a month ( but I guess that would not have been a problem if they ordered more before completely selling out ). Who decided to go with Macron without knowing all this in advance ? I wonder if the owners give a toss about this sort of thing? - You don't need to answer that.

It's not Top Trumps! A manager's past playing career counts for nothing and doesn't necessarily make him a good manager. Ferguson won nothing as a player but, as a manager, had the respect of some of the world's greatest players - so it's a nonsense argument. The players are allowed to have an opinion on the style of football he is asking them to play and are well within their rights to point out it doesn't seem to be working.

It didn't even galvanise them into some sort of reaction. We just folded. Imagine Keeley, Flitcroft,Todd or Savage putting up with that. We need some players with some passion. I suspect Wharton may have reacted but, sadly, he wasn;t on the pitch.

I would ask him what Venkys promised him when he took the job, if he believed them and if he has seen or heard from them since? Has he been promised performance related bonuses or are the owners happy with an aimless existence in the Championship? Have there been any actual board meetings to discuss progress since he arrived? Is he under any pressure to succeed at all? I think I already know the answers.

100% their fault. The buck stops with them. Interested and engaged owners can have a massive influence on a club. Conversely, absent owners employing underachieving staff and coaches does not help build a successful team. Rovers is a shadow of the club it should be and that is down to Venkys. A drubbing by Burnley is simply a symptom of their ownership.

Absolutely dire. I can barely bring myself to comment. Sadly, it is no surprise - virtually every away match this season has been a dress rehearsal for that performance today. Playing those tactics with our set of players is suicide against a team like Burnley. We simply handed them the game on a plate. Why persist with it ? why why why ? A bit of passion may have helped to ease the pain a little - but no! I think our league position is flattering and I'm not hopeful for the rest of the season. I'm sure our lovely owners in India are hurting as much as I am !! The nightmare continues.

I agree in that I can see what JDT is trying to do and that he is trying to instil his methods into the players. The problem is that we just don't have players with the skill or composure to play out of defence safely. Travis, Ayala, Hyam, Scott Wharton are not sophisticated players and are not particularly comfortable with the ball at their feet. Brittain and Pickering may be more suited but still tend to be a little bit rushed. So it comes down to Morton, A Wharton or Szmodics to find a killer pass and last night they were all giving the ball away for fun or putting other players under pressure by playing them into trouble. JDT can keep trying this approach but it's not going to work with these players. We have some really good players but we need to play to their strengths. Let the defenders be good, solid, no-nonsense defenders and get the creativity moved further up the pitch ( Bradley Dack hint hint ).

Playing this 'pass it out from the back' will never work with this set of players - they are not good passers of the ball and they simply end up eventually passing to the opposition. It's frustrating to watch even when we win. When we are bad we are absolutely dire. According to IFollow we won 87% of the heading duels in tonight's match. Maybe the manager should have noticed this and tried to mix it up a bit. Brittain on the left is just ridiculous. Vale or Hirst on the pitch while Dack is on the bench is ridiculous. Very poor management by JDT tonight.

One touch to the opposition mainly. I'd be ecstatic with a draw from this one.

If a manager won't play a player after a tiff that's a bad sign. Whatever is best for the team should come above all else. I suspect Venky's have indicated they wouldn't mind getting his wages off the books. Remember Ryan Nelsen 'wasn't fit' for months and then signed for Tottenham and was straight in the team. Happened with others too.
