My uncle loved working at Graham and Brown because of how thoroughly decent he knew his bosses were. As a grumpy fucker who didn’t have a good word to say about anybody, it’s the biggest compliment my uncle could give.

I quite often wonder if Venkys decided: Well you got those three (Ennis, Siggy, Tronstad) for free, so just keep doing that!

In fairness, if that is the case, I do actually support Eustace on that. This team is missing experience and leaders, and the academy is more than fruitful enough. Currently we have regular for the first team from our academy: Travis, Buckley, JRC, Garrett, S.Wharton, Carter, Leonard, Vale. Some of those need loans or moving on (money in), but the academy has remained a decent source of income in terms of players for the team and fees. Next batch to try and make the step up seem to be (strictly imo): Gamble, Duru, Gent, Haddow, Harlock, O’Grady-Macken, and Gilsenan. With young Finneran hopefully still around in 2/3 years as our next generational talent. We need QUALITY experience, particularly in goal, full back, up front, and one winger. Everywhere else can be upgraded but not urgently imo.

It can be done. Szmodics, Armstrong types keep the system going, while leaving approximately £6m for steadier players. Including free additions, it’s possible to use £10m effectively.

Absolutely. Back then on the day, my dad and I were high as kites that we would’ve bought STs at current prices. Should’ve had a leaflet on every seat, screen and tannoy reminders etc.

Maybe this is how it went? Swag: I can’t cope with doing the job of a CEO properly, it’s too complicated, and it’s too soon to replace Tony, I’m still heartbroken. Can you get a guy in to control the football side of things, and I’ll focus on corporate and admin? Venkys: Yeah, ok. Get Suhail to find someone. Swag: Suhail, find someone who knows a good manager, and let them deal with the football stuff. Promise him what he wants. *Admin side of three different deals fall through in successive windows, causing manager with ambition and wit to leave… Swag: We need money, so thanks for all the good work Gregg. No Wharton or Raya money is going in any budget either. Go gardening while I find a new puppet to blame for what I’M supposed to oversee.

Otherwise known as the ‘Scott Carson Cheat Code’. -
I removed it myself. While I agree (obviously), I’m not sure it was constructive.

Equally surprising that you believe someone giving you the courtesy of using your name must be due to condescension, imo.

How tf have we won that? The only club in the country NOT to increase our attendances significantly post-Covid. -
For me to even consider a ST affordable, they need to knock a good £100 off the price before any gimmicks/offers. I’d start with saying ‘Twenty’s plenty’ for all games. No ticket should cost more than that (fuck other club comparisons, I’m talking demographics of the area and basic morals). Say £20 for JWU, £15 everywhere else. OAP/Student/Armed service/Blue Lights £15 JWU, £10 everywhere else. Chn £5. Every league and cup game at Ewood. Then work backwards. There are 23 games, would be £460 JWU etc etc. So I’d look at: £300 JWU, £250 everywhere else. Concesions (as described above), £250 JWU, £200 everywhere else. Chn £100 including the latest home/away shirt, free printing. £75 w/o. While we’re at it, add a drink to the pie/mash/peas offer and make it a tenner.

They’re usually open to all, although I don’t know if this has changed.

I’m afraid I don’t understand why the AGM is held in the Training Centre (a place not readily accessible to anyone travelling), and has the manager as guest speaker. Comes across as far too pally for my liking.

I wondered about Gally, esp with the late flurry of rumours he was being loaned out.
