  1. eh? ”They crawl out after a win”… “There are those who will stick with TM/Venkys” Those comments are just taking a swipe at anyone who doesn’t parrot your narrative.
  2. 18000+ Potentially proof once more that it’s not price, it’s performances. My only argument to that would be to suggest it could’ve been 25k at £15 a ticket. The accountants can’t justify this however. Also - to add, not sure if this is the right place. The service / Sodexo bar regime is a complete joke.
  3. 18,000 fans make a big difference to Saturday afternoons!
  4. Being annoyed that someone says “Blackburn” as opposed to “Rovers”… potentially a sign that you’re average reactions are quite extreme?
  5. More like training in a zorb
  6. Whatever you do - DON’T LOOK 😂
  7. Thing is 22m in 1998/99… What’s that the equivalence of now? 100m?
  8. Different system, different ideas, different roles potentially bring out something different. Personally - not hugely expectant, and would’ve preferred Butterworth and Garrett given their opportunities- but I’m not convinced that 500 minutes out of a potential total of 2,880 between them is enough to judge what they’re capable of for the rest of the season. I know it’s reactive - but Khadra wound me up massively on Saturday with his positioning and game reading, and the stupid freekick he gave away could’ve cost us 2 points - I still think there is some value in having him however. Perhaps more when we’re chasing a goal as opposed to holding a lead!
  9. Really is starting to reach his potential. How many goals do we think he will finish with? He’s no Mitrovic, clever, devastating and a guarantee for goals… where does his limit lie?
  10. Ideally would’ve like to have seen more already but, as I’ve acquired a luxury cushion for the fence these days, I’d say both deserve more time to judge.
  11. Out of interest JBN, what’s the combined minute total of both that you allowed before coming to this opinion? I haven’t been away, but from memory vs Reading, Poveda’s energy and movement helped change the game.
  12. I’m not generalising at all, I’m being extremely specific. I would suggest that most modern managers aren’t fully aware of how much (to the pound) they’ve got to spend in wages. For rovers it seems even more convoluted (or at least did initially under the Rao’s) as there is another layer above the chairmen, and yes or no seemingly sometimes depends on if the players “young, polish-able and sellable” rather than how much they’re available for. If that wasn’t the case, surely TM would’ve put more of his funds towards defenders? None of that goes against the manager and chairman discussing what they’ve available, but it’ll be loose figures, not specific - and will either be “yes we can afford x” or “can we get back to you”. Finally, reckon you could give the humourless “mogadon” and other faux comedy schlock?
  13. When you’re turnover is £120million before you even open your doors - you’d think Burnley’s would be even cheaper. Stanley is £20 a game otherwise - can’t knock Holt with the way he’s building the club but they’re super limited on wages and they hardly have any overheads in terms of structural / academy compared to us.
  14. 23 games for £400… What’s wrong with that? I remember the days of it being £250 in the premier league, but I was always aware of the huge sponsorship that enabled this. £17 a game in 2021? I don’t think that’s bad.
  15. I don’t think modern managers negotiate on contracts, not normally anyway. They will contact players who they’re interested in, but I think it’s bordering on naive thinking a manager knows where every penny of his budget is going. I would expect from the Brian Clough’s (see UNDR the Cosh with Glen Little regarding Stan Ternent), but with all the agents, directors and chairmen - from what I’ve read and understand about modern football - these days, managers generally ask a question and receive either a yes or no.
  16. I’m always worried with the Rao’s. The planning permission included new football facilities, hence why it probably passed rules on its usage. To me this just “concretes” how much money we’re losing to need such methods to avoid financial sanctions.
  17. Covenant still in place to prevent the site being used for anything other than a training facility for Blackburn, according to Sharpe at least.
  18. I think he’s shown some improvement this season thankfully. I would say this is more opportunities in the centre but he scored with his first touch playing right (after switching second half on Saturday). The more he scores and sets up, the more confident he will get. Also second in assists only to Rothwell this season so good signs for me. Still has some issues with passing but his work rate has improved tremendously. Keep it up Gally.
  19. All of those clubs had to either cheat, find loop holes and a lot of them have paid for not being successful on the back of it. I’m not sure Derby and Sheffield Wednesday fans feel like they have or had something to show. Yet the reason we’re in a similar boat is nothing to do with turnover, high wages or FFP, it’s because our fans “can't see the wood for the trees and just accept the words of 'experts' or failures like Waggott without engaging their own brains and thoughts.” So despite the fact the club has spent £193 on wages for every £100 the club has earned since the Rao’s took over, it’s obviously the fans fault that they’ve been allowed to waste so much money. That goes for Sheffield Wednesday fans too I guess, nothing to do with a hopeless agent infested owner - it’s just the “sooper” fans allowing them to get away with it.
  20. Is it beyond the rules to say this kind of made up faux comedy post is exactly why I go from reading this website to months off at a time?
  21. Certainly agree that he needs more time to be properly viewed on his input!
  22. Was listening to Undr the Cosh’s Craig Conway interview and he used those very words! He had some interesting things to say about playing in front of home crowds as opposed to away too.
  23. Now t’worse than carrot dangling.
  24. I thought that I don’t remember TM saying Oba bid cost 6m, or that Bauer wanted 40k. In fact I’m 100% they’re actually made up, or some sensationalist reporting of the time! If we’re criticising someone, why make stuff up when they’ve a plethora of actual reasons to grumble?
