  1. Also I’ve just had it pointed out to me that Gavin Ward is the ref. Not feeling it tonight lads 😂
  2. I thought that but then thought we’d miss his guile and bite in the middle more than buckley. Also it’s RWB… not RB. Apparently!!
  3. He’s had that “made of glass” tag for sometime but surely the job is for Pike? Maybe we’re well off and Carter’s playing RB with 4 at back.
  4. That quote wasn’t even in reply to you 47er, the reason he was substituted is he had no impact. Unlike the previous Saturday.
  5. He was playing against two huge centre-backs. Its literally only a week since his enthusiasm and energy caused Swansea so many problems we should’ve score 5. If you’re going to fairly criticise the coaching staff, surely it’s his lack of improvement with the final ball aka shot or cross?
  6. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2021/august/Jack-Walker/ another year passes, and the memories mean even more. Thanks again Jack!
  7. Two Rovers players I look fondly back on from 6 free signings, Stokes, Brown, Greer and Feeney all utterly a waste of good money. Throw in Williams as a cash buy and the loans of; Emnes, Hoban and Gallagher Byrne, Hendrie, Samuelson and Joao. How many from 13 good enough for championship level? Graham, Emnes… possibly Gallagher and a fit Hoban? A far better position I think this season, to be selective, take opportunities with top level loans (similar to Tosin / Elliott / HB) and rely on a bucketload of talent (as evidenced again last night vs Everton) coming through the u23s
  8. Excellent in league 1 perhaps?- Mulgrew was a liability as a centreback in the championship imo. Graham was also partially a rover before that - he’d been on loan previously I think. It also highlights the gulf in championship / premier league wages. Which is exactly why some of those players for this seasons free transfer list, won’t move until the very last moment.
  9. He probably means Mike Sheron Nice to hear we’ve stepped again in the u23s, especially with losing Barr and many being in the first team
  10. That list didn’t even have Cherry on a “extremely terrible cake” aka Wes Brown. When you consider the difference between a bottom half regular premier league wage and an average championship wage, it’s no surprise that not many drop down quickly. https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/section-6---players/ couldnt find the quote I thought I’d read but this one seemingly suggests you can register players who have no registration all the way up to March with efl clearance. 43.3 Where any new registration or transfer of a Player is received by The League after 5pm on the fourth Thursday in March in each Season, that Player will not be eligible to play in any match organised by The League in that Season, except as permitted in Regulation 57
  11. Your post reminded me of a particular summer; https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/blackburn-rovers/transfers/verein/164/plus/?saison_id=2016&pos=&detailpos=&w_s= Personally I’d rather we stuck with Butterworth, Buckley, Davenport, Carter as opposed to bringing in old mercenaries. I’m sure some are still up to it but we didn’t get the best out of two of our signings that summer until we’d been relegated.
  12. Not asking for much saying “I’m hoping for probably the best player ever to smoke 20 a day” but looks a talented passer and reader of the game. Albeit in one game!
  13. Well according to our overlord - Rothwell was already sold and replaced by Reach on the 28th of July!
  14. We have a threadbare squad and this is your take? Personally don’t think there is anything I could complain about, loaning another decent talent potentially. If it’s Garrett who misses out, he would’ve been mainly on the bench anyway so why not send him to league 1?
  15. https://theathletic.com/news/liverpools-leighton-clarkson-to-join-blackburn-on-loan/Lu5SHw8D17TO Rovers fan too
  16. Didn’t see any of the game - only the written commentary- had the pleasure of watching Stanley instead! Made up for this lad though. A decent point!
  17. Possibly the most boring two games I’ve ever watched with a big prize up for grabs. Particularly stands out when I think of Appleton.
  18. Not wrong on that front, however comparing these ones - we ended up losing all three ultimately regardless of what they said. I think it’s particularly obvious TM is trying to “protect” the atmosphere early doors where as Big Sam (quoted below) is trying to get a reaction, as he’d changed 11 players for that game. Mark Hughes dryly said how it was, not good enough. Quite an interestingly bad FA cup record against COV! https://www.theguardian.com/football/2008/jan/06/match.blackburn https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/4153033.coventry-city-1-blackburn-rovers-0-big-sam-slams-players/ He said: “We had 11 players who should have more capable of running around than anyone else at the football club but they didn’t do a lot of running around in that second half from what I saw. “I was very disappointed with the attitude in terms of closing the players down and stopping them playing. "We had no problems doing that in the first half and stopping doing that in the second is the reason why we lost. “The FA Cup is not the priority but that does not mean the 11 players I picked today should not have gone and won that game. I think they should.
  19. Well he had Armstrong at Coventry if we’re spotting old club / players. Paul Downing at WBA?
  20. Souness signed Harkneas, Bjornebye, Friedel, he signed Tugay, Amoruso and Ferguson from rangers. Hughes’ Welsh lads? They all do it, it’s standard practice of many of our managers. Not comparing TM to premier league quality managers by the way, that shouldn’t need to be said but here we are! Also never forget Greame signed Ali Dia 😆
  21. It’s merely down to the boro link with TM that it stands out. As for remit of head of recruitment watching games - it’s plausible we’re looking at boro or blackpool players, or meeting with agents / representatives? Id rather see who we end up signing and judge that part of his influence. It’s seemingly difficult to get players within a specific wage remit - might also explain why so many of our own are in their last years.
  22. Give them a ring - they’re still bobbing up ever fortnight.
