  1. Whilst I personally agree with you I will be quite shocked if Mowbray starts him. I think he will start Dack and have BBD on the bench.
  2. I watched Senegal v Egypt. The number of lasers being directed at the Egyptians throughout the match was unreal and it must have affected the penalty shootout. I Also from the end of extra time and until the shootout began the flood lights went into strobe mode. Most odd. As soon as the strobing stopped on came the lasers again, Hundreds of them, it all looked orchestrated. After that I watched quite a bit of Algeria v Cameroon. The ending was fantastic but the better team lost. It was time better spent than watching England reserves in a training session.
  3. I find Chris Rock as funny as severe constipation and his jokes similar to the end result. I agree on Gervais next time ..... with luck that tool will get more than just a slap.
  4. Chile out ... Good riddance.
  5. Well. I hope he stays fit. Been watching AFCON qualifiers all night so up for this.
  6. The behaviour of a desperate team. Chile have 2 chances of going through, slim and fat, and slim left town after getting a shagging in Brazil. In all honesty it will be a miracle if Chile progress against all odds and with their past their sell by date team.
  7. In the year of 2022 with IT and Social Media at its current peak the Club limit the online ticket buying options whilst encouraging the use of the telephone and allowing those who still use this medium of communication to collect at the ticket office. (I am taking a stab in the dark here and assuming that such telephone calls/orders will be answered). This fails all the logic tests that I can think of. Do the Club have a special undercover department that specialises in gross stupidity.
  8. Shrewsbury School - The kit of many of the sports teams shows a cross from the crown in the school's coat of arms, which is a practice that has been in place for at least 150 years.
  9. ''This famous Lancashire club was formed by John Lewis and Arthur Constantine, old boys from the famous Shrewsbury public school. They won support from local businessmen at a public meeting held at the St Leger Hotel in November 1875. According to the 1905 Book of Football (researched by Jonathon Russell) the original minute book records that "the colours be white jersey, blue and white skull cap, trousers optional" and "that a Maltese cross be worn on the left breast." This motif was worn by both the Shrewsbury and Malvern school teams and two former Malvernians played in that first team alongside the two old Salopians, so there is a clear link with these public schools.'' ''This account of the club's first colours is contradicted by an account found in the Blackburn Standard, January 6 1894, discovered by Kjell Hanssen, which states: The club was founded in December 1874 at the St Leger Hotel, in King William street as “The Rovers Football Club, Blackburn.” Mr Thomas Greenwood was elected captain, Walter Duckworth secretary, and Johnny Lewis treasurer. The dress decided upon at that time was navy blue and white quartered jersey, white knickers, and navy blue hose; it is the same yet (1894), but the blue is a lighter shade. Photographic evidence shows the team in navy/white in 1878 and the contemporary Charles Alcock's Football Annuals confirm these colours were worn until 1881.'' EDIT: I haven't actually answered your question! Onwards ..........
  10. It looks like Rovers played their first proper match in 1875 in "The now famous blue and white quarters"
  11. And the players who spoke up at HT. Even Mowbray acknowledged that happened. It amazes me that some dismiss entirely what actually happened during that game.
  12. A different article which also said Billings would have been on the WI tour but the 'selectors' didn't want a ''Captain in waiting'' also in the dressing room. I suppose there will be a lot of such speculation. I also thought that Billings has a bit of a history with inappropriate comments in the past. I agree though that Root's time as Captain is up and he should be left to his batting.
  13. Sam Billings is in the mix to replace Root. I read that somewhere yesterday, probably the BBC. It kind of more than mildly surprised me but I think Stokes has enough issues without the poisoned chalice too. Broad and Anderson, with the benefit of hindsight, did well to give this disaster a swerve. If a team scores runs so sparsely and collapses with such regularity it doesn't matter who the bowlers are ... they aint going to win matches. Is Jack Leach really the best English spinner?
  14. England played the morning session as if the lot of them were nursing major hangovers. And Crawley goes early ...... well I never ..... I think I'll watch England v Swiss
  15. AFC 4th Round Winner v CONMEBOL 5th Place will take place on 13th or 14th June as a single match in Qatar. Chile still have a very outside chance of 5th Position but they must beat Uruguay and rely on both Peru and Colombia messing up. The AFC 4th Round Winner will be decided by a game between UAE v Australia on 7th June also to be played in Qatar, at least I think that's how it stands.
  16. Rovers gave an ageing Boro reject and known sicknote a 3 year contract on an alleged £17k pw. FGS that deal stinks the place out. I am sick of this fecking shit show. Corrupt twats.
  17. When I saw the term a few days ago I did a Google on ''rail seating football'' and it gives full info. ''Metal seat is incorporated within a robust metal frame that forms a waist-high rail for the spectators in the row behind. These seat frames are installed on a permanent basis with the same spacing as standard seats'' They look uncomfortable and I suggest only for those who want to stand all game. Actually I think I mean they are for those a lot younger or fitter than me ...
  18. I've put this here as the first name on the casualty list is Ayala. It seems that he will be back when he wants to be. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/20016059.likely-return-dates-blackburn-rovers-nine-injured-players/
  19. Anyway he's not gone, or have I missed something, so I'll save the bricks for some other time. Just noticed that anti analysis started this thread. Irony?
  20. Asawhole or Arsehole?
  21. Spot on. Totally agree and with the highlighted I always have believed that and have never been seduced by these conmen. They can deck off and go to hell in a handcart..... but they won't.
  22. Whilst he may get an appearance for Chile in one or more of their WC games I will be somewhat surprised if he appears in a Rovers shirt again. Asset protection.
  23. What a thoroughly depressing read, and I agree that it is all going to happen. For those of us getting on a bit we may never see the end of these conmen lackeys. Venkys - The Lost Years and counting.
  24. Boro and Forest will go above us soon. QPR are like us, grossly inconsistent and we will fight it out with them to be closest to missing out on a playoff spot.
  25. Who are our ''extraordinarily young'' players? Are we some sort of sweatshop whose incumbents have stomach problems? The man never ceases to confound. I think he needs help. Soon.
