If only, Parson. I started late. We were relegated in my second proper season. Even in the previous season, we crashed and burned after selling Keith Newton, but I was hooked. I have grieved for the loss of many star players, since then too. The difference was that I believed that Bancroft, Keighley, Brown, Fox etc had the interests of the club at heart I remain disgusted by what has been allowed to happen to our club. This is the longest malaise in all my Rovers time. 10 years of (almost entirely)no hope managers minus the appropriate CV's and serious unease about the reasons behind too many signings! Sometimes, I even catch myself thinking it would be better if the Raos went now and brought the moment to a crisis sooner, so we could start building a proper club again. The alternative seems to be remaining with the sword of Damacles hanging over us. Death by a thousand shite transfer windows!

Generally, I do tend to agree with your analyses. It may seem like mere wordplay, but, on reflection, I think it is harsh to say a large part of our fanbase is actually complicit. As Rovers fans, we are all powerless and have not been able to influence the tragic events at our club one iota. Like yourself, I have been frustrated by the denial and the apparent willingness of some to do mental somersaults in order to be grateful to Venky's. I have also smarted at some people's unwillingness to face the dumbing down. But the uncomfortable fact is that all our hopes and dreams are entirely at the whim of distant, disengaged Indian chicken people, who probably couldn't name a single one of our players. To blame fans, who are actually the victims of this tyranny and to call them complicit is taking it too far. Also, I think it is actually contributing to the division, which merely aids the carpetbaggers' agenda.

Keane's bullying behaviour would be the problem for me. I'd be wary of locating it in players.

I think Haaland had laughed at him during the previous incident, so Keane stored that for over a year then exacted his premeditated assault!

Re Myers, I could not agree more. I am sick to death of his general narrative that Rovers fans should somehow accept the dumbing down of the club and just "move on". A patronising pain in the arse!! But -and here I own some inconsistency-I am very uncomfortable with the targeting of Bennett. All I have seen is a thoroughly decent bloke, who has agreed to his manager's repeated (misguided?) requests to play in a position well outside his comfort zone. I also feel that the justified dissatisfaction with our current "progress" is in danger of being channeled into scapegoating a classic, club man.

Bennett is innocent! it is the manager, who routinely plays him out of position.

Agreed. I think it was the final straw for me (another one!) when we gave back word on Warnock and came up with Coyle. What an awful, disrespectful and unforgiveable decision!

I was wondering what prompted the Loons to jettison Bowyer in the end. Nice bloke but he really never had the CV for the job-just like most of their appointments. I can't get my head around TM's constant theme of evolution/slow growth, when so many players are likely to need replacing in the summer This certainly feels like a malaise-yes another one!
